Jimmy’s ability to remember and tell great stories is amazing! Button made it seem like all of this stuff happened just yesterday, not decades ago! Great show!
Jimmy was so amazing to watch back in the day he had this riding style that was absolutely amazing I grew up with these guys in Az it was such a great time in motorcross.
I have a ton of respect for Jimmy. When I was 15 years old my best friend (who was also 15)broke his neck In September 2000. He was paralyzed from the neck down. A few months later or so Jimmy flew up to Sacramento to visit him and give him some inspiration. He gave him an autographed “Button” and “McGrath” jersey. I believe it was one of Jimmy’s first times out by himself after his crash. It meant a lot to my friend, me and his family. Well it’s over 15 years later and my buddy is doing great. He had a very similar recovery as Jimmy. He can walk and do basically anything and if he can’t I bet he will try harder than any able bodied person. Anyways I always wondered if Jimmy remembers that and after hearing him on this interview I’m sure he does. It was literally his first “Road to Recovery.” I hope Jimmy sees this and knows how appreciative we all were he did that and how much respect we have for him for what he did. In this interview it sounds like he is worried about coming off selfish or about being selfish in the past and I can say...Jimmy you are far from that! Thank you!
Such a great interview. Jimmy is incredible. From the amateur ranks to the pros he always had tons of natural talent and speed. Being the same age I think I watched the 80 expert from Carlsbad 100x on RUclips. His first hand experiences with paralysis were hard to hear but in the world of mx/sx that fear is always there. Jimmy Button you are awesome and wish you and your family the best!! I love how he said that 87 CR80 Mitch built him was a total rocket ship!! Wheelie down the entire start straight!! Love it
"I love the smell of Blenzall in the morning" - Jimmy, you are so right about that! The first Motocross race I ever went to was at Pepperell, MA. back in 1971 and never forgot the smell of bean oil.
4 hrs of greatness. The last 2 hrs are exceptionally interesting and inspiring! I was a Button fan before, but now I can't even describe the respect I have for him! 👊😎
What a great guy. Great stories. So impressed with what Jimmy's done . I dont know half of the stuff he has to deal with. What a tuff dude. Im impressed 👏. Go Jimmy. Great show guys
Don't wait! Go to r2rhonda94raffle.com/ and buy a ticket to win Ken Roczen's CRF450R and you help out R2R! It's so easy online to donate there's no reason to wait.
Ping and GL, I absolutely love these shows. Haven't missed one yet. Went back and listened to the Rick Johnson episode yesterday while I was waiting for this one to show up. I can't wait to see who else you all have lined up. I will definitely be making the trip up from San Diego to see a live show one day soon. Keep it up guys!
Another KILLER show PING and GL! Always like JB, but now I have respect for him like a brother. So authentic and real. Thank you for taking the time to put these together guys.
Alot!! Of people forget or dont even know how fast badass fast Jimmy Button was. Quading and 8drupling down these downhills at Glenn Helen on a 125 and so many other memories. He was on it and when he got hurt my heart broke. Buttonfly you will always remain one of the baddest dudes on a dirtbike! God bless you and take care of your tattoo.
Definitely miss the old days McGrath, Emig, Carmichael, Windham, Swink, Button, Larocco etc. I love hearing these stories. Here's a suggestion, per every 5 times Grant interrupts the guest or Ping, make Grant take off his shirt and perform the truffle shuffle.
Awesome show loved it! These are the riders most of us want to see the stories we want to hear. Love to see a Stanton or Bradshaw or Chicken etc on the show. Keep the good stuff coming 🤘
Funny that question at the end about motivation for pros, watching the bubba Stewart interview recently he said, if he didn't win they didn't eat because they weren't ever rich and all their money in the early days went into the cost of racing!
Best mx related show imo (Matthes, don't worry I still love you). Another show I can't figure out how we're not taking advantage of is RealTalk447. RC and Emig have so much to offer and nobody is taking it..I don't get it! Those dudes are literally the GOAT and Fro. With the plethora of info/incite RC alone has to offer, it's insane and yet they can't get any production value, zero sponsors or an audience expansion for cryin' out loud wth?! Not even Emig's company ODI can sponsor RealTalk447
Another great show but I think they should definitely keep the 125 dream race and the electric bikes can have their own class eventually years way into the future LOL but it's still cool they can do their own thing and also I race my 2-stroke indoors right now. I live in Indianapolis and wish we had a indoor place nearby to ride during the winter but I will ride and race in Maysville Kentucky at an indoor track called Earlywine and I've also Road at an indoor place I think it was called Moto tracks a little west of Chicago. You can race and doors like they do they just have exhaust fans to suck out the smoke and in the winter it's a whole lot warmer inside than outside and for safety they don't allow gas cans inside the building and honestly if I had the money to start a business like that I would because it's a year-round thing
Funny to hear about Kenny saying the Honda felt great until at random it would just go crazy and buck him off. That is the EXACT same thing Eli talked about with his days on the team. Eerie.
Awesome story but man one thing I hate about the us is healthcare. I have scoliosis and its a shame when your health and well being becomes a money pit. Good on him for starting road to recovery
I love how you guys are bringing past riders on. Be awesome to see sellards, pastrana, reynard, ezra, kdub, larocco, and both wards. For ezra and or kdub ask them about kenworthys in It was either 2000 or 2001 should be interesting story something they did together if they open up about it. TP I wonder if he has regrets of his million dollar jump even though he has or had the freestyle and nitro circus success. He has to be the greatest or fastest guy to never win 250/450 title. So much potential after winning 125 titles. His probably number 1 person I'd love to meet in my life go to breakfast with.
I didn't know Jimmy Button. Thanks to WT for these lessons in the history of the sport. Somebody's gotta write a book about this stuff, the stories are too good to let them die. Go to r2rhonda94raffle.com/ and buy a ticket to win Ken Roczen's CRF450R and you help out R2R!
I could be wrong on the year. May of been 97-98. Story I remember hearing about involving someone who was a senior when I was freshman. That person graduated in 98. What I can't remember if this happened around that time or just few years later.
Jimmy’s ability to remember and tell great stories is amazing! Button made it seem like all of this stuff happened just yesterday, not decades ago! Great show!
This is the best interview! Such a great and entertaining story. Button is a savage. So happy for him to pull through the injury as well as he did.

Awesome show. Jimmy is an icon and huge inspiration. Next time I’m at the races I’ll definitely stop by road 2 recovery and donate👍🏻

Dale Carmine Okay! Sounds good.
Dale Carmine Bought two tickets👍🏻 I already have a 2017 CRF450 but man would it be nice to hop on a fresh 2019!
Road 2 recovery is an amazing foundation. They quite literally helped save my life/future. Thanks for supporting them!
Smagical I’ve heard about your injury, glad to hear you’ve made tremendous progress.

Barcelona Supercross 1997 was my first supercross ever, 14 years old flipping out!
By far the best episode over all other Whiskey Throttle Show's!
Awsome to see jimmy button been big fan since i was kid...great show could listen to yall bullshit all nite go jimmy button
Really strong interview. Jimmy speaks the truth. Tracks in the 90s and early 2000s were way more technical.
Funny that question at the end about motivation for pros, watching the bubba Stewart interview recently he said, if he didn't win they didn't eat because they weren't ever rich and all their money in the early days went into the cost of racing!
Button is hardcore, more so since his accident. guy is a competitor in life!
By far the best interview. It was really moving and Jimmy is a great story teller.
Button has always been to cool for school. Thanks for having him on.
Top guy, he also founded the Road to Recovery foundation.
A wonderful example to others on how to do the right thing and make a memorable contribution to life, thank you.
DUDE! Gotta get mouse McCoy on there!
Awesome show!

Jimmy is a class act. Fantastic interview.
Don't worry about long the show is I still want more. Keep it up great show.

"I DRIVE A BLACK MERCEDES!.... I DRIVE A BLACK MERCEDES!...I DRIVE A BLACK MERCEDES!......"
hes right the tracks in the late 90s were much more technical and the riders we better period....much harder to master a two stroke
"Dowd was just covered in Hot Dogs , ketchup , Mustard ! " lmao
Maybe the longest show so far, but solid podium. ..thanks Button!
great great interview
Find Greg Albertyn! He would be a cool guy to have on the show.
What a great individual,and a good human.
Would love to see yogi lusk on here
Funny to hear about Kenny saying the Honda felt great until at random it would just go crazy and buck him off. That is the EXACT same thing Eli talked about with his days on the team. Eerie.

Wha a great interview 👏
That PJ1 bike was so awesome.
such a nice guy. I think he saved the bell helmet company.
We forget how bad ass JB was. God bless
Really interesting interview, not only touching but interesting about what really may happen to anybody of us..
I love how you guys are bringing past riders on. Be awesome to see sellards, pastrana, reynard, ezra, kdub, larocco, and both wards.

Wasn't that interesting in listening to this one, but glad I did. Again some great stories.
