    Noel Gallagher's ( who is huge Bowie fan btw ) comments at the beginning always bring a smile to my face . Bowie was indeed too cool for that shit .

    a lack of respect of Brit awards to use a dead man for publicty, and a lack of Bowie's value to earn awards while he was alive. Giving award post mortem is always shitty.

      +Adrian T. He was actually still alive. This is a clip from the 2014 Brit awards

    • @artistadrtm
      @artistadrtm 8 лет назад

      Well, then he received out of pity because he was dying. It's an almost-post-mortem award. :))

    • @qassimuk

      +Adrian T. Uh.. but no one knew he had cancer at this point. When he died, that was the first the public heard of his cancer.

    • @artistadrtm
      @artistadrtm 8 лет назад

      +Qassim Farid I meant dying of old age. :))
      I am against of gloryfing people after their death. Now they're doing that with Prince. It doesn't cross my mind any of these people's song, I had to google it, and most of the poeple never did while they were alive. Now they are some kind of absolute artists. the cream of the best (after death). :))

    • @calabholder8371
      @calabholder8371 8 лет назад +14

      +Adrian T. So, their greatness is predicated on whether you know their songs? Also, what do you define as "most of the people?" Yes, I'm sure that there are plenty of people who are unfamiliar with the works of Bowie and Prince, but I think it's very difficult to deny their genius on the sole question of ubiquity. Furthermore, do you honestly think Bowie's lack of awards should factor in to his legacy? Awards are meaningless...many amazing people have been denied public recognition because of stupid and trivial political agendas (e.g., Leo Tolstoy being snubbed by the Nobel Prize in Literature). Your comments about glorification are also very troubling...when we contemplate upon someone's life (famous and non-famous, alike) we do more than merely GLORIFY them. There are plenty of people who will look back on Bowie and Prince as musical innovators (which is perfectly fine), but their lives have different meanings for everyone. I'm not trying to put you down for being unfamiliar with Bowie and Prince, but their lives mean MUCH more to me than simple glorification. I listen to their songs for renewal, enjoyment, inspiration, and most importantly, to remember them for what they represent to me.

      We wanted to entirely secede from the U.K. That’s a bit different from ‘a bit more political power’. David Bowie had every right to convey that he respected Scotland and felt they still had a future as part of his home nation.
      Whether I agree or not, especially right now at the tail end of all this Brexit shit, that’s a totally different thing.
