He was very loving and my wife and I miss him dearly. He was not able to talk, walk on his own, or interact with others very much. But, we enjoyed him immensely and considered it a privilege to have had him in our home.

      There is no reason to give condolences. Yes, there are usually medical issues that go along with Downs babies. But they are the happiest most sweetest people on earth. There is a lot of joy that goes along with raising a Downs baby. Parents of babies with Downs would be offended by your condolences. People with trisomy-21 aren't capable to what "normal" people are. Their brain doesn't function the way "normal" people's brains work. You literally can read all about what trisomy-21 does to the brain. So praising someone for their joy and passion, it's ok to do that. It's not patronizing. You're living in their joy, which in turn makes you feel joyful as well.

    My little brother has Down syndrome and seeing this just burst me into tears. I am so happy for him and his family because I know how hard it is getting through day to day activities.
    Big congratulations and don’t let anyone stop him, it happens to much to vulnerable people.
    Anyone who dislikes this video has no heart but whatever it’s their choice. and if they want to live a mean life looking down on vulnerable kids that’s their problem.
    Also, notice how I haven’t used the word ‘disabled’ or ‘special needs’. We shouldn’t put a label on anyone. We all have our problems and it just so happens that theirs can be diagnosed and seen physically.
    I’m sorry for ranting but I just want people to understand that it’s hard for me to keep all my feelings in sometimes.

      Ya see humans are interesting creatures, we have a prefrontal cortex that orders priorities, and for the average person we do not only care about 1 thing, we care about many. I do not usually watch these things. And when I do, I very seldom comment. That said....
    It is exceptionally special when a "special needs" or "disabled" contestant comes to the front to reach for the stars. Whether it is the "Lost Voice Guy" or an amputee dancer or, as in this case, the "Extra Chromosome Kid", they are ALL inspiring. Especially when we recall that it wasn't that long ago when we simply locked these people away behind bleak walls as if they were animals.

    Not only is he good and you see that it's his passion. But also the thought that he doesn't let anything get in his way and he follows it is fantastic. Take a lesson out this people, no matter what syndrome of other problems you have, follow your dream.

    • @vermilliongecko
      @vermilliongecko 5 лет назад

      It doesn't really work like that. Heard of Ehler Danlos Syndrome? Where your joints dislocate every few minutes? Try dancing with that. I did, for 21 years, until it was too painful, until I couldn't even make a cup of tea, let alone dance. Don't preach lessons to disabled people.

      @@vermilliongecko dude i have an illness as well that makes just living already difficult. Im not saying you should dance but there is always hope you can achieve some of your dreams and yes sometimes you need to change them up a bit. There was a young girl having that same ilness as you and she went to a special gym, and she can do more things now. ( ofc she is young) so yes i can say that being stubborn and following your dreams can do wonders no matter what.
