    What is even more mind-blowing is that Su's earpiece wasn't working for this song too, so she had to kinda wing it too.

    It's got to be fun and a challenge to be a songwriter for Babymetal....As long as you have these in the song 1)part where Su can show off her vocal range 2) parts where fans can join in 3) Kamiband solo... As long as you got those 3, you can do whatever you want.... Go poppy? Brand New Day or their earlier stuff.... Go hard? Maya, Rondo of Nightmare, Headbanger... Go ethnic? Shanti, Metalizm, OH Majinai....😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘

    Great reaction. As you have been told, this is an homage to Dream Theater and their song 'Dance of Eternity'. Mike Portnoy was very impressed describing it as ".... full on Prog Metal".
    The piano at the end actually carries on and it was the bridge into the next song and the finale for Red Night (night 1) at the Tokyo Dome - 'The ONE'.
    These two songs started life as one, but they were separated quite early in the writing process. They share some themes of course, but they each have a very distinct feel to them.
    Just to add a little more about their professionalism ... right as they started playing 'Tales of the Destinies' Su-metal's IEM stopped working and she was taking her cues from listening to the drums. I don't think her IEM was out for very long (maybe the first verse or just a few seconds), but the fact she didn't even seem to bat an eyelid and carried on as if nothing was wrong - and nobody would have known any different amazes me.

    Think about it this way when it comes to how tight and well rehearsed this band is as well: They are in the middle of Tokyo Dome, so that means they’re playing IN THE ROUND. If you look closely during the solos, while Mikio and Takayoshi are next to each other and can see each other, they can NOT see BOH or Hideki on drums. The band has their backs to each other. Yes, they all may have a click track in their in-ear monitors, but they can’t see each other while going through those time signature changes. That tells you how good they are.. and to top that off, Su lost her IEMs prior to playing this song, so she went completely off of memory, and nailed it. That’s how good they are.

    Glad y'all liked it! This is a direct homage to Dream Theater, the top prog metal band in history. Almost every single Dream Theater song sounds like this,but is normally way more technical (yes)and 10 minutes longer.
    That is NOT a knock on this song! I love this one!

    This is, apart from being an awesome Prog Metal song, a perfect example of the dedicated practice and rehearsal Babymetal put in. The Kami Band play this complex piece perfectly and the ladies perform their constantly varying choreography perfectly too - yet they only performed this at this one concert! I see there's a number of recommendations for 'B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L DEATH' (the Live at Legend 97 version is THE one! - ruclips.net/video/VE34mRpi6Qk/видео.html ), so I'd have to add that, while I definitely agree you should stare in awe and wonder at one of the very best and very Metal concert finales ever, you should not read anything about it first. Really, just for that song, PLEASE DON'T READ ANYTHING ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE FIRST. PRETTY PLEASE, WITH SPRINKLES!. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

    That’s Babymetals homage to DreamTheater and they have performed that song live only once at the Tokyo show in 2016. The piano at the end leads directly into “The One” which was originally not a separate song but they decided to split it in two. The Tokyo Dome shows were insane on every level with 55.000 fans attending each night and two completely different set lists. The stage, the lightning, the Kamis, and of course the performance of the girls were just off the charts. If you have the chance to watch the full show, do it, you won’t regret it, I promise! This song is Babymetal's tribute to Dream Theater and specifically the song "Dance of Eternities". Mike Portnoy's son showed him TotD and he gave it his seal of approval. Kobametal worked on it for years before he was satisfied with it.
    This performance at Tokyo Dome is the one and only time they have ever played TotD live, though they have expressed a desire in interviews to try it again, as they weren't completely happy with the performance.
    The guitar solo was Mikio (RIP Kogami).
    The piano melody at the end is actually the intro to The One. Originally, the two songs were one song.
    Sorry you felt like you had to justify yourself. Going in blind is a perfectly valid way to react to a song.

    5:10 Reaction start
    Thanks for coming back with more BM songs and this time with another special song from their 2nd album Metal Resistance, and this one is even more meaningful, this song was performed previous to last and ending the show.
    Friendly suggestion, don't read comments about the song at the beginning, that way you won't get spoilers and be so long to start watching the vid, leave it for the end section of your final thoughts. Oh and come back with whatever you want, either older or newer, isn't disrespectful at all, it's just better for your BM journey to experience this chronologically and appreciate the evolution, that's all, but do as you like.
    It took several years for KobaMetal (the producer and mastermind of this group) to create this progressive metal song along with "The One" which is the next song, he's a Dream Theater fan. This song was performed only one time at Tokyo Dome 2016 with 55K fans witnessing this special and one of a kind live concert, people from all over the world attended this two nights performing their entire catalogue by that time from 1st and 2nd album, only song they didn't performed was From Dusk Till Dawn.
    There's a lot of crazy transitions and dope time signature changes. Is one of the hardest song they ever performed, even some troubles suddenly happened when performing this but fortunately they made it through like a real pro. I always love the reaction over that piano section with the cutesy dance moves.
    The piano outro is no other than "The One" melody announcing the next song with this peaceful bridge. Both songs were originally part of the same song but it was split in two parts. The One is a song dedicated to all of us their fans, we're The One, and that should be the perfect follow up, although isn't a progressive metal song, more like hard rock ballad with progressive rock.
    The Kami Band members this night are: Mikio Fujioka (R.I.P.) and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Remember according to the lore all of them were send to help the girls with the metal sound. This time you're watching their regular costume back then wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint representing those spiritual entities.
    Glad you liked this one, there's a reason for this performed only one time and that should stay that way for everyone who witnessed this special moment in BM career.
    Next suggestion:
    - Babymetal Death live at Legend 1997 held in 2013, GuilhermeCait got this with the intro translated in the description box.
    Oh btw this channel and vid you saw is relatively new and this song was heavily blocked several times, there's a live compilation out there with a lot of views so don't take this views as a clue about what BM fans like or not.
    See you next time🦊🤘🔥

    • @autohmae
      @autohmae 11 месяцев назад +3

      Seems to me Moametal and Su-metal have discussed about wanting to perform it again... so my guess is 'should stay this way' is not something they would agree with.

    • @takodrew6043
      @takodrew6043 8 месяцев назад

      @@autohmae You talk like the girls have decission on what they play live, it's all about the producers and musicians. You know the girls are just a gimmick right? I like many of their songs, this band a weird experiment that happened to be succesful, but is just a product, with great musicians behind I have to say.

    • @autohmae
      @autohmae 8 месяцев назад

      @@takodrew6043 seems you are underestimating these ladies. It's the live musicians which have the least to say, they are just the hired hands to make the music. You should really read all the (translated from Japanese) interviews with them and Kobametal. Did you for example know the ladies after every performance sit down and talk about everything that went right and wrong and anything which is was unusual and discuss what to do different/better, how to improve their performances. When Babymetal has to perform, the ladies will tell the staff how the stage needs to be layout so they can perform there, etc. Kobametal makes clear what the general direction is, what the theme is and what people to hire to create his 'vision'.

    • @takodrew6043
      @takodrew6043 8 месяцев назад

      @@autohmae So you agree with me, the producer is the one who decide everything, and the composers and musicians know what can or cannot play in a gig. Again, the girls are not gonna be the ones to decide if they play Tales of the destinies live or not. It's the most difficult song to play live, so it's up to the producer and musicians.

    • @autohmae
      @autohmae 8 месяцев назад

      @@takodrew6043 well, maybe I should give an example we know about (Babymetal is pretty secretive about what happens behind the scenes). When Babymetal was going to perform Road of Resitance the first time ever, it was in the UK in the O2 Academy Brixton. It turns out the venue had a lot of reverb and Road of Resistance could not be performed as planned, it wouldn't have come out right (and they had a DVD planned too). But Yuimetal put her little foot down and made very clear it has to happen. This is the home country the guitarists of Dragonforce who Babymetal collaborated with and it's central in Babymetal's lore/story. And so the song was changed to fit the venue and this is now how the song is performed. It's now the third most performed song by Babymetal, in this form.

    Tales Of The Destinies:-
    A tribute to Legendary progressive rock band "Dream Theatre" from America 🇺🇸. Babymetal only performed this song once which is at the Tokyo Dome in Japan 🇯🇵 to a crowd of 55000 fans over two nights which total of 110000 fans. This song genre is Progressive Metal and different from "Dream Theatre" which focuses more on Rock. That night Su-Metal ear-in monitor malfunction just as the song is about to kick in, Su-Metal has to relied on The Kami Band tempo changes to be able to synchronise with The Kami Band and both Yuimetal & Moametal. Considered Babymetal most technical song and complex composition. As seasoned pros, Babymetal did a superb job that night. Those who love progressive music will definitely appreciate the technical aspects and precision of the Kami Band and Babymetal complicated choreography. The piano melody bridge will lead to the last song The One from their Metal Resistance Album. Progressive Metal at its best. Only done once live at the Tokyo Dome.

Syncopation is another great live track. The one word I would say makes these musicians and the girls so great is ou can tell they are sincere in what they are doing. Nice reaction. This song jumped to the top of my list of special Babymetal epic level performances. The original trio at the top of their game. Moa said that when they did the ten years of Babymetal at the Budokan they thought about doing this song. But she said they tried over 30 different dance routines for this song, and she couldn't remember which one they actually did. Personally, I would have loved any dance routine for this song. Su said she wanted to try to do this song again too. As if this wasn't perfect. But only they know what wasn't perfect. One of the great things about Su is that she is a perfectionist. Never to happy with the performance. Always thinking how we could do it better if not how she could do it better. But that doesn't stopper from being happy when the crowd cheers. When the fans are happy Su is happy. At the end of a show, you can tell by how much she smiles and waves enthusiastically it gives away how she felt about the show. She always will wave and smile but when the show was hot with the fans. Su is overjoyed. I would love for them to perform this now with Momoko. She has the talent to do it and since they said they thought about doing it for the 10 year shows. Momoko was the dancer with them at the time.

    This might be my favorite Dream Theater tribute song. They did such an amazing job of merging a respectful tribute to Dream Theater's "Scenes From A Memory" era with the more pop-oriented Dragonforce style of metal that "Road of Resistance" revolves around. As a huge fan of progressive rock and metal it was so rewarding to hear this song for the first time and think that "this is way too on-the-nose not to be intended as an official shout-out to DT" and then get hit with their take on era-appropriate Petrucci runs leading into such a great nod to Rudess' ragtime piano segment in "Dance of Eternity". I really enjoyed this reaction. :)

    TOTD is my favourite BM song and I consider it to be one of three early prog songs that BM has, the other two being "The One" and "Rondo of Nightmare". The latest release "The Other One" also has some progie songs. Yui, Moa and Su do not play instruments to a professional standard, but they have been singing and dancing since they were very young and that will have included music theory so there is understanding along with hard work.
    I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD just for "TOTD" and "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of TOTD and it's the height of Kobayashi's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's very obviously a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo one another. It's interesting to note that Dream Theater performed at UK Sonisphere 2013 where BM had an early international success and I wonder if Kobametal saw them perform.
    This could have been a complete disaster but Babymetal bring their unique singing and dancing talents to the song and the Kami Band are fantastic...as they always are. To so obviously reference another awesome piece of music and yet still be different and brilliant on its own takes a lot of skill...and either guts or hubris. I love the way the ending resolves from the prog metal madness into a beautifully lyrical piano solo and the Charlies Angels ending is cute. Kobametal says that it took a couple of years to get TOTD to it's final state. I really think of Babymetal as Kobametal's massive multi-year art project and this is the height of the original concept.

This performance flowed straight into that song to close out this concert (this song and The One were originally written as a single song, but were split into two). If you do watch The One, try to react to the Tokyo Dome concert video if you can. It has one of the very few moments where Su's metal mask comes off for a couple of seconds and you can see the young girl that she is. If you blink at the wrong moment, you will miss it, but it is my favorite part of that song.

    This song was performed only once. It's a part of another song called ,the one, which they go into right after this one, but they split the song in 2

    To say BabyMetal's best years have come and gone is crazy, but the original 3 and original Kami Band is no more😢

    lol Su-Metal professional singer, she know music same as musicians :))) And that time (2016) she already has almost 10 years live singing experience on stages (she was singer before Babymetal formed) (she sing in theater musicals too and even sing songs for anime)
    I think this song was harder for musicians than for the girls. (Dance/Sing to this is not easy. But play this very difficult)

    Great reaction, y'all! Imagine all that work to learn the song and choreo just to only play the song live once. This is the one and only time they played it. It is one of my favorites. I too bought the Blu-ray just to have this performance. The piano at the end plays into the next song, The One. That is another one worth the watch. If you watch closely in The One at Tokyo Dome you will see Su-metal break character for a second and Suzuka Nakamoto peaks out from the armor in amazement. Kitsune Up!

    I really wish the cameras could've focused on the Kami Band at certain points of the song, like the awesome ascending riff (just before that old-timey piano interlude)
    The number of live videos from countless bands that don't focus on the instruments at key points (even solos at times) will never not irk me...

    I think destiny was in Su-Metals blood here as this story is what rock legends are made of. On September 27th 1971 Led Zeppelin touched down in Hiroshima for a concert at the Shiei Taikukan Hall (Prefectural Gymnasium.
    Where they gave the profits to the City of Hiroshima that were later used to help build a music school. Led Zeppelin wanted to do something to promote peace at the time.
    Which later this school had a student that (in time) would have a daughter that became rather famous as any ideas of who? 🤔 Su-Metals farther had a Punk band called The Hooligans.
    Which he played in high school and later went onto play semi- professionally. Whom has since seen his daughter perform alongside one of his favourite idols, Guns N´ Roses.
    ____________________________________________
    Imagine how proud Suzuka Nakamoto farther must have been here lol. I think it is a wonderful twist in this musical fox hole we have found ourselves in.
    Which is only furthermore cemented in this reaction video. As the late great Mikio Fujioka was in this as well. R.I.P🪦 Mikio Fujioka was a massive loss to Babymetal.
    Who died in a tragic Balcony accident in 2018. He was not only an important member of BabyMetal & a massive loss! He shared Yui's love of stargazing which may have influenced her depture.
    He was also one of Takayoshi Ohmura instructors back in music school. Which btw just for the record here. Takayoshi also happens to play in Marty's Friedman band as well!! 🙀💕 This s*** deserves a Rock documentary. 🤘🦊🎸

    You should check out the companion song to TOTD called"The One". They were originally meant to be one song but were split into two, with the latter being written about and dedicated to the fan base. Thus, the name of the fan base being called The One. The piano outro you heard was the intro to The One,an equally epic piece of music in it's own right 🦊🤘

    Thanks for the reaction. This is one of my favorite Babymetal songs. I hope they perform it again someday so I can see it live, but I can see why they might not want to. It isn't a good song for crowd participation.

    You can't please everyone. I like your channel and in my opinion, reaction videos are better without research or prep. I don't mind people pulling up lyrics but keep doing what you're doing and don't worry about the haters. By the way I love The Warning and look forward to you covering their other albums.

    One thing I find odd about The One is that they seem to be the only fanbase who recommends songs out of order. Where most other fanbases say "You have to start at the beginning and work your way to current day. That way, you can see the journey and the girls evolution as they grew older and leveled up."
    Also, you don't really have to research them. Just slip in a video to your Babymetal reactions of you guys reacting to either of these videos: ruclips.net/video/cfYYRnA8ukE/видео.html

    Wait a minute. What do you mean teaching to non musicians and people who arent musical? All of the girls are professional singers and have been for years at the time this was shot. Also how can dancers be non musical? Thats a pretty strange take. I get it they arent guitarists but last time I checked singers were musicians and dancers were musical. It is areal real feat of incredible talent though. Nice reaction guy!
