Retired labor nurse here! Love your style. I recommended your videos to my pregnant daughter and son in law.
Hey
Covid 19 brought me here! All our birthing classes were cancelled. SO grateful I found your channel! :)
Same here....!!!
Same here too
Yes ❤
Right
Same!!
I had painful contractions before my water broke. I sat up and my water broke and 30 mins later i had my baby🧡💛🧡
My water broke and I didn't have any contractions until I was 7 cms dilated. And even when I did have them they weren't bad at all. Like period cramps. My water broke at 930 am and I had my baby at 246 PM and he was my 1st and he was 9 lbs.
Girl we are the lucky few but I'm pregnant again! I hope this is the case again...
Blessings!! I pray to have something similar to this story this summer with my daughter July 2019❤💜💙💚😊😊😊
God bless
Did u have any tearing I’m due in 5 weeks with my first
Wow that’s amazing! How lucky.
My wife is 30 weeks pregnant and Ive been watching your videos to learn signs and symptoms of labor! Lol. Wish us luck!
That’s cool that you’re so involved!
My water literally just broke after what a thought a little false labor 😭🎀 so excited !!!
How did your birth go?
shandii toontorials hey it actually went amazing it was my first baby i was in labor for 9hrs and pushed 4 times and she came i also didn’t get the epidural because my contractions weren’t that bad until 7 cm
That's awesome! Congratulations on your baby! I hope you enjoy motherhood and I wish you a speedy recovery x
YAY!!
How far were you?
With my second child, the doctor broke my water at 7 1/2 cm then 8 minutes later i started pushing and my daughter was born after 2 pushes! Birth is crazy, beautiful, and amazing
does it hurt when the doctor breaks your water?
@@sweetpotato_ yes it was painful for me I had to tell the nurse to stop and then my contractions became way more intense
I arrived in the pushing phase, 5 minutes later, in the bed, pushed 2xs, they did NOT ask, but the physician came in said, breaking water!
A slight push later and baby came sliding right out. Thank God.. pregnant now with #2, and hope my water breaks in the ER parking lot.. this covid crap makes everything so much more stressful.
With my second birth my water broke in my kitchen and instantly my contractions were STRONG and was in in full blown active labor it was crazy. We had to speed through traffic . By the time we got to the hospital his head was basically out. Labor was less than 2 hours
Omg wow
@@shakiawhite it was like that stereotypical scene in the movies.
Did your water break with your first too? I’m having my second daughter in February and my water didn’t break with my first so I’m curious if it will this time.😊
@@bananabear7399 my water didn’t break on it’s own with my first. I think my body didn’t know what to do before labor started. But second kid- my body knew what was going on.
Love how normal you are! Love your way of explaining to us none medical folk lol : )
I'm 37 weeks with my first baby and I'm sooooo happy I found your channel! So helpful.. thank you.
Me too
Not only are you extremely informative and entertaining, you have the best props ever lol you're amazing!😃
I'm 39 weeks pregnant and I am SO THANKFUL for finding your channel. Im finding these videos very informative and reassuring.
My support team is my momma and the daddy of the baby ❤❤ just now finishing up my 26th week and so excited ❤❤
I worked for an OB/CNM practice at one time who did not go by the 24 hour rule. He had the patients stay home, nothing in vagina, shoers nstead of baths and checking temps a couple times a day . The practice had the lowest csection rate and best outcome of any practice in the city
b*tch write what makes sense to others
LOL
@@user-pk1bb6nf1q There is NO sense in being so RUDE, and just down right HATEFUL ! Honestly, I’m sure Sarah her self, would not appreciate the disrespect, either! Not everyone is in the U.S, and therefore they speak/type/write differently. Oh, and let’s not forget auto correct that we don’t always catch before we hit “send” So, SERIOUSLY, there’s no need to be so dang mean, and name calling!🙄 It’s pretty immature! If you “can’t read it” then just scroll pass, or nicely ask them to clarify what they were trying to say! It’s simple🤷♀️ She only got like two words messed up, and it looks like an auto correct thing anyways!🙄😂 What she wrote is perfectly “ readable” if not, then idk what to tell ya🤷♀️
@@user-pk1bb6nf1q you must be really slow up there if you are struggling to understand what she wrote🙄🙄 so rude!
Probably THE most informative and easily digestible video I've ever seen on the topic. Thank you!
(26 weeks, first time mom) ☺️❤️
As a first time mom, this is very informative. I learned a lot from this!
Excellent job explaining this whole process! Very thorough. Thank you! 💜
I’m on my 2nd baby (16 months apart) and my first made me realize I wanted to be an l&d rn. And you’ve just reinforced this for me. Love your energy and your passion!❤️
Could you possibly make a video about marginal cord insertion, and other umbilical cord complications? Your so great at explaining things
I love your content- I mean it's primarily the same information as given by other providers but man you're a crack up!
Omg this was the best explanation ever. You’re so good at this making it approachable to understand and with the perfect amount of humor. And I love how you give alternative scenarios as well as alternative choices.
I’m 35 weeks and really excited🤩 thank you for these videos
My wife and I are about to go through our third round of child births but this is the first time I have tried to be this educated. Very happy for your videos they are easy to understand and down to earth. Thanks again, it really helps me.
I'm 14wks pregnant with my first baby. I'm so nervous and just trying to educate myself as much as possibly and as early as possible. Your videos surely help so much! Thank you for easing the mind of a first time mama♡
You are officially my favourite RUclips channel and I have literally binge watched like 4 hours of your videos LOL love it! Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos!!
Yes! Take your time getting to the hospital!! With my first, no one told me that even after water breaking, labor could still take awhile. Lucky for me, it was a total of 12 hours from water breaking, but there was literally no rush!! Also, wear a pad/adult diaper and bring a towel!! Again, no one told me it will keep trickling out if it does break!!
Did they try giving your pitocin once you got to the hospital?
6 and a half months and I can’t stop watching these type of videossss
I’m 30 weeks and so thankful I found your channel!
Alyssa Lovejoy I’m 30 weeks too
I’m due in 7 weeks!! I can’t wait to see my baby😭❤️
I just came across your video and this would have been so incredibly helpful 7 years ago when I had my son. I will be recommending your videos to my new mommy friends
Love your videos. Had my Lil man January 8th. Only the back of my water broke. My midwife had to break the front. These videos helped me out so much during the last week's of pregnancy and even through my labor. You helped way more then my midwives.
30 weeks!! I’m so excited thank you for the info
I absolutely love your personality!
I am soooo happy to find your channel!!! Most helpful and informative information on youtube! Thank you!
I remember making a reallllly strange screech during that first contraction after my water broke. Much stronger!!
Thank you so much for these videos! I’m currently pregnant for the first time and resources are limited. Your videos have been so helpful.
Excellent demonstration!! Very helpful. Thank you!
Im about to be a daddy in May, and I am freaked out for the day that baby decides to come🤤... but your videos put me at ease that Although I am not the one giving birth, I sure will know whats happening and what to do lol😊
Aww! I love when guys comment on videos like this! Congratulations! It’s nice to see your comment and it sounds like you’re gonna be an amazing Daddy. We are due in 5 weeks with our 2nd.😁
Hope the baby is born
nkosini dhlamini baby come yet?
You were already such a good dad researching for baby and mom! Hope your baby is healthy and loving all the daddy time 💕 ❤
I don't want kids or anything so I'm not going to go through this, but it's just so nice watching these videos and learn what actually is going on, what happens, what the procedures are etc. Thankyou xx
Had to watch this again....have 5 weeks left and needed a refresh! You're AWESOME!!!!!! Can you please do a VBAC video!
My due date is today and I just discovered your videos😁
Baby’s not here yet but these are so helpful. At least I have an idea of what to expect. Thanks😊
Omg i just discover you yesterday and I feel like you being with me all my pregnancy... I will love to have you as a nurse on my delivery day, you are so nice and explain very well! Thank you !!
Every video I watch from you I feel more confident to be in my delivery. Sorry about my English.
I am a mother of two and currently pregnant and I have never gotten the chance to yell BABE! MY WATER BROKE! LOL... hopefully I can this time... is it weird that I want to 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
So funny the water gush happened with my friend's 3rd and pops was shook! Couldn't find the keys, looking for his phone while on it, running around. He was so calm with the others but this really got him going 🤭
@@crispycaboodles so my water broke while she was coming.... I got turned back from the hospital and an hr later she came... in my mother n law's kitchen 🤦🏾♀️ it was a bad experience because everyone was scared which was even more stress on me
Oh my goodness that is scary! I hope everyone is okay sending you lots of love
@@crispycaboodles we are ok now but in April it was very rough its still rough for me to talk about and I dnt like to go back to that day
Mine broke with my second just as I stood up from sitting on the couch and I just thought I had peed myself. Definitely wasnt a big dramatic gush of water for me
My water broke dramatically while working on the nursery before contractions started at 37 weeks and the hospital wanted me to come right away. Baby was born 11 hours later!
yasss momma!
With covid 19 and all labor classes cancelled...i am sooooo grateful for you!! 30 weeks pregnant and soooo nervous lol u keep me calm...and ur humor is just what we need!!
31 weeks pregnant with my 5th, loving all your vids.
OMG! Amazing video! With my first baby I ran to the hospital, and I wish I did not because i was not contracting at all. I wish I called my doc ahead of time. With this pregnancy (33 weeks today) I'm educating myself. Thank you❣❣❣❣
this is so informative! im 25 days away from my due date and im binge wathcing your videos!
The Dr. broke my water. I didn't notice stronger contractions.
Thank God! 😊
All my docs said when your water breaks it smells really sweet and has a very distinctive smell.
You’re awesome! Thanks for sharing all this info
Going to be a Dad in 3 weeks. I greatly appreciate your videos!
Sarah thank you for the info and thanks for making it fun to watch, you are really informative and funny
Thanks for this video! Very helpful!
11 weeks with #2, so excited!!!
The way you explained it makes me less nervous for my water to break. I have a month and a half left 😁
Christina Dapontes oh wow when are you due! I have about the same time left!
Thanks for the TACO..
Excellent video !
This was so helpful and funny! Thanks for making this.
I’m 35 and getting ready to have my first in July. Doc has already warned me that he will be big due to gestational diabetes and I’ll probably get induced early. These videos are very informative and are definitely helpful for calming my nerves. It also educated my hubby though he goes “eww” a lot. Lol
Excellent video. Thank you! 😁
So interesting, in my country (austria) they told me IF the water breaks, lie down immediately and call the ambulance so they pick you up and you don’t go to the hospital privately 🤷🏼♀️ you make It sound much less scary
You’re freaking hilarious. I pray I have a nurse like you during my delivery lol. Thanks for all the info!!! 💓
Rightttttttt her energy is amazing 😉
Wow our God is amazing, just when you were explaining the importance of the water and the cord 🙌🏾
Seriously!!! How can people not believe there is a God!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽😭😭😭💓💓💓💓
Amén
Yessssss! Exactly what I was thinking
Yes!! I was thinking the same!! I LOVE Jesus. The baby is in the womb in water and yet it’s still living and breathing. Praise God ❤️
Amen 🙏🏼
I literally know all about labor I just watch your videos because you’re hilarious and explain things in a very reassuring way! I hope you get a show one day! Much love❤️
You are stunning! You could easily be a model.
I was induced with my last pregnant and I remember 8 hours later, after a few cramps here and there, getting up, hearing/feeling the "pop" and then shit. got. real.
once again!! brilliant video! thanks a ton❤ very well explained.

3 weeks left until I meet my little guy 💙 this was very helpful
Dude u are freakin amazing!!! Where were u when I needed u a few years ago lol 😩😭
So happy I discovered you today....Due date is 10 days away!!!!
My feelings were, like, super hurt when I was in labor with my second child because I had "the trickles" and after several hours of my labor not progressing the doc still hadn't set up to have my water broken for me... from experience I told him "Once my water breaks, we're talking go time and it'll be minutes before it's all over" and he just kept spending his time running around managing other patients while I suffered, had IV antibiotics setup for hours (which later amounted to thrush for my baby and a yeast infection on my nipples), ended up with an epidural in the name of sleep and exhausted before he finally said "Okay, lets do it" and broke my waters. It was like he was just dangling me on a string and I hated it. It really sucked. 39 hours of labor for my second child when it could have been more like 4 hours. He then left and minutes later (as I said on another one of your videos) I stated to the nurse that I felt like I had to pee despite having a catheter put in and refused to let her walk out of the room without checking me, only to discover my daughter's head sticking out. Lol
So yeah. In my experience (4 times), once my water broke, I had about 10 to 15 minutes before delivery was all over. I'm still kind of mad at that guy for dragging me along like that!
This is super informative and I feel like my baby might be coming tonight or tomorrow 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 .
i love all your videos!!
I love that !
Very helpful and so entertaining, thank you !!
Thanks Sarah! Watching this when my wife is 39 weeks pregnant with our first child. Also my wife's name is Sarah. :)
I was pregnant with my 3rd at exactly 37 weeks & I knew my water bag was leaking. I went to the hospital & they did a q-tip check & even tho it was covered in blood. They said it wasn’t broken.
The next day I didn’t have an appointment but waited all day to see the doctor , she did the same q-tip test & it was still negative but said I was 3 centimeters dilated.
That was Friday afternoon , Tuesday morning I went in to get induced I was 5 centimeters dilated & in active labor. When my doctor went to pop my water bag (I’ve had it done 2 times before) I felt absolutely NOTHING come out & she knew that & heard me say that I felt no water & she didn’t say one word to me nor look at me, all she did was throw the plastic she used to pop my bag away & immediately Walked out.
I was LIVID & my wonderful amazing nurse did her best to reassure me that everything was going to be okay & that it happens sometimes & to not get upset about it bc that can affect the babies heart rate.
On top of that , I wanted to donate my cord blood & when they went to do it . There was no blood in the cord & the cord basically deflated!
Informative AND so entertaining. I love this so much!
Agreed! She inspired me to FINALLY start my channel!
my first baby. my water broke 2.10 am this morning. i feel like having toilet cramp and contraction every 2mins apart. i am waiting until the dawn and see how it goes :) thanks for Sarah Lavonne.
Im watching this while my waterbroke 1 hour ago. My contractions are irregular. Planning to go only if my contractions getting stronger. Thank you for the helpful and informative advices. Btw, my babygirl will be name Sarah too! 💕
Updates? How was your labor?
@MellowMel I needed to be induced when ive reached the hospital. They told me im only 4 cm. huhu. so they put me to pitocin for half an hour and i cant stand the contraction pain. this was my 2nd time. the first time, my first son, i can bare the pitocin for 3 hours but dilation was still 3 cm. this time, i took epidural again but i didnt hold still so the meds didnt kick in much for both leg. so i still can feel the contraction and needed to push already. the epidural was on me for only 10-15 mins before i had to push and i was fully dilated. the whole process of getting epidural on me took at abt 1 hour. the doc was taking his time and i cant barely stand so they did it while i was lying side. but thanks to the failure of the epidural, i manage to find the wave of the contraction that helps me to push. it took me 3-4 push.
for my first son , i did took epidural . and pushed for 3 hours cos it was hard finding the contraction wave cos u feel really numb . howver, all went fine and baby Sarah was born! 😃 She was born 2 weeks early from due date.
@@ummnaeyla thank god for her x
Thank you so much. You answered so many questions/doubts I had
You are awesome and super informative. I love the way you explain things! Thank you for your sense of humor! I have a much better idea of what goes on now when your water breaks (:

New Sub! Have been watching your videos all morning. love them they really help out a lot. 31 weeks with my 4th child. :D
I woke up from a nap and as I sat up I heard and felt 2 pops then a gush, moments later contractions started thick and fast 😂 got to stay at home for 2 hours alone waiting for my partner and it was advised by a midwife! I feel so lucky to have experience my waters breaking first.
11:40 waaaa what just happened to me 😂😂 LOVE THIS
“Omg I juts soaked my panties again! “ Sarah: who says panties 😂😂😂😂
Thank God for you!!!!!
Best description I've heard to date!
38weeks and I thought I peed myself. Guess we'll find out soon
Sarah Lavonne they did the 3 tests and they came out inconclusive. I was still at 1.5cm now at 39+1 I'm at a 2cm with 3cm effaced which is like 25% I think. Trying to find ways to dilate to avoid an induction
Sarah Lavonne well just in the case that I go over then yes. Last week Wednesday I was 1.5 and this past Wednesday I was 2cm. Feels like I'm dilating slowly. I will look at your video. I believe I have but I've looked at so many I lost track lol
Love your videos!! I've had two babies and pregnant with #3 :) my water broke before my contractions started with both of my girls, (first labor was 6 hours and second was 1.5hr). And when my water broke it definitely broke like movies. So I guess I'll see what happens this time :-)
In a recent large study, 76.5% of people with term PROM went into labor within 24 hours, and 90% were in labor within 48 hours (Pintucci et al., 2014). Although some of these people (16%) were induced, most (84%) went into labor on their own.
In another large study, researchers assigned some women to wait for up to 72 hours for labor to begin after their water broke. Out of these women, 83% went into labor on their own and had a normal vaginal birth (Shalev et al., 1995).
Some researchers have found that it may take longer for people giving birth for the first time to go into labor after their water breaks. One study found that 20% of people giving birth for the first time waited longer than 48 hours for contractions to begin after PROM, while only 7% of those who had given birth before took longer than 48 hours after PROM (Morales & Lazar, 1986).
Thank you so much. This is a relief.
My water is broken already, almost 24hrs now and no contractions. Doctor advised I wait for 48hrs. Been so nervous as a first-time mom.
Loved this mom 3 on one board and this helped me alot thanks
I’m 35 weeks today and have a week and a half left of work before I go on maternity and I am PRAYING my water doesn’t break at work hahaha
With my first baby, her head was super low and i was 3 cm dilated at 38 weeks. My dr said my water won’t break because the baby’s head was blocking the way. It was a relief knowing that. My waters never broke with my other babies.
