Carter has been singing his whole life and has performed at many different venues over the years, but having the opportunity to sing for his friend Andrew and the McMorris Family makes this evening one of the most memorable. SWRCSD Shows that Carter has been a part of include Pirates of Penzance (Frederic), Urinetown (Bobby Strong), The Wiz (The Lion) and Pippin (Leading Player), just to name a few. Carter opened up with The National Anthem at the re-opening of the Boardwalk at Long Beach after Hurricane Sandy when he was just 7 years old. That began his love of performing in front of crowds. He has performed as an opening act for the DelSatins at Patchogue Theatre multiple times. He has performed twice at Riverhead Raceway with God Bless America and America The Beautiful, sang live on 103.9 LI News Radio and was featured on News 12’s “Sounds Of The Season”. Carter is the voice of his family’s non-profit, Families In Arms, which was created in honor of his brother Jack, to raise money to send children with Autism to Disney World. He performs at their annual gala, and loves to feature his brother on the drums with him. Carter, at 15 years old, became the youngest male to ever win NBC’s The Voice during Season 19 in the fall of 2020. He was also the first win for his coach, Gwen Stefani. Carter had the pleasure of singing The National Anthem to open a Mets game at Citifield this summer, along with multiple local appearances and performances across Long Island. Carter will be releasing a song this fall under Republic Records, and looks forward to a future filled with music. Carter would like to thank his family and friends for their constant love and support, as well as The McMorris Family for the incredible honor of singing for his buddy Andrew, at the third Annual Andrew McMorris Foundation Gala.
In September 2018, Andrew McMorris and his Boy Scout Troop were tragically hit by a drunk driver while hiking. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after and passed away. The lives of his family, friends and community were forever changed by his senseless passing. The mission of the Andrew McMorris Foundation (or 'AMF') is to honor Andrew by creating opportunities for education, advocacy, and change that honor his legacy. Andrews life was full of kindness, leadership, creativity, achievement, and joy. The Foundation operates on the core values of kindness, empathy, and opportunity.
