I don't think they will cancel it as they are too far into the final stages of the game. But if things do get complicated from a legal point they might have to rebrand the game or change it to fix the mistakes.
It's not racist wanting to play as a Japanese character in 1500-1600 Japan. All of a sudden Ubi has to hunt and find a real character who wasn't Japanese because they just couldn't bring themselves to make a main character Japanese. Plain and simple, everyone knows the real reason why this choice was made. It's like making Asssssin's Creed Massai Warriors and having you play a Chinese Massai Warrior. It's just a stupid agenda.
I've heard this said else where but, where was the outrage for Nioh 1 and 2 ? Specifically a White Man running around acting like Samurai/Ninja ? Also where was the outrage when other historical figures popped up in this series ?
As i see this there are 2 groups, 1 is against "wokeism" and the other is trying to justify the "misuse" of Japanese culture as a base to cancel the game, not every depiction of a culture has to be perfect, it rarely is when it comes to games or movies anyways. Just let Ubisoft be Ubisoft and if you don't agree with the type of games they are making then don't support them by buying the stuff they make, it's just that simple.
It would be, If they wouldn't accuse everyone as racist when the Game fails. "We looked for a Samurai WHO represent us" and " We filled the gaps in their(japanese) History with our Story" both came from Ubisoft a french Company about a Game Set in Japan during the Sengoku period. The Game is Not Just Like the Assassin's Creed before. It's racist and culturally tone deaf. And strangest Thing is that the very Same People who are celebrating Assassin's Creed Shadows are mostly the Same who accused the Devs of Ghost of Tsushima of Racism and Cultural Appropriation.
@@sorleytarrys8501 That's what i don't get they filled the gaps in history on ALL of the AC games set in various other places, what is different now besides it being in Japan and a character that might have or might have not been a samurai? People get triggered/angry for stuff they will not care about a week or a month after that game releases and want their 15mins of fame on social media... 😅
@@XxJGVxX There are a few Reasons for not buying the Game besides all that, but No one Talks about the real Issues Like hiding Quests behind a Paywall or making it Pre Order Exklusive Just to create FOMO, The Price and even If you buy it, you don't really own it. @@sorleytarrys8501 Depending on how bad the game is at release will dictate if this is a buy or an "argh matey" situation, by how things are going i think it more leaning towards the latter 😂
they could've done something like rise of the ronin did with the main characters instead of one being from a completely different continent they should have made it a male and female character from THE COUNTRY THE GAME IS SET IN
Asian culture has borrowed so much from black culture, for so long and so deeply rooted that most don't even realize. One black samurai is enough to set them off though, unfortunate.
What do you think, should Assassin's Creed Shadows be canceled?

You can also pet animals in Ghost of Tsushima.

Yasuke is a real life character brought to be a slave
He's a real character in japanese history tho, PRETTY important too.

Yeah, pandering hard bro

while he was literally a black samurai- sure he was a slave. But still pretty important to japanese history.
