      Didn’t lose any fish at all! Honestly not a single one which truly baffles me. We’re talking fish from equatorial countries such as Panama, Costa Rica. They would never have temperature swings like this in the wild.
      No issues at all, like it never happened!
      But it did happen...again so needless to say the programable timer is happening this week!

    I'll take your green shrimp colony! Ta-da... problem solved.. 😉 Great video as always... don't know how many times I've almost had a problem, due to distraction while water changing... So glad everybody turned out ok though. Love the goodeieds! 😍

      It’s absolutely ridiculous that it happened again. Literally all the water changer needs is to be plugged into a programmed timer. Honestly that’s all. Just been running around so much lately. I was absolutely gutted when I saw what had happened but honestly no a single fish has been lost nor any signs of any issues what so ever since. I’m very lucky.

    Biggs! You are lucky there were no cochianus in those tanks! You would have had to deal with a massive case of sphincter shrinkage!! Hope you and the family feel better soon!

    Hey Brother, do me a big favour! When you complete the terrarium, get a Strawberry Dart Frog and call it Jason. We can't have them in Australia. I love those things man! Always wanted one. Think about it Brother, great terrarium subject and when you get over run with Isopods, problem solved. Glad your fish picked up after their traumatic experience. Tank wipe outs are devastating. J

      Lol Thanks but it still doesn’t make me feel any better Zenin. I so beyond thankful that there have been literally zero issues or deaths with the denizens of the two tanks

    Got some really nice monties. Those males are beauties. And you should absolutely put plants in the massive tank. It will actually fit some big swords

      Thank you very much for your thoughts. Everyone is slowly on the mend.
      Reality is it shouldn’t have happened a second time! Once should have been enough to make it happen. Second time regardless of circumstances IMO is abusive. These critters depend on me and I failed them. The programable timer is happening this week!
      I’m just very thankful everyone made it through without any issue. Even today not a single death or any issues whatsoever.

    How hard would it be to just make that a slow continuous wc system? Everything I do in my fish room I have to set a timer on my phone or I would have a disaster a day:/

    • @themadaquarist
      @themadaquarist  4 года назад +1

      I’ve never been a fan of drip systems personally. I have used them in the past just not my thing. As my main focus has always been in breeding fish I’ve always prefers this style where I have more control over the automation. That being said this problem is 100% of my own fault and could easily have been avoided.
      The whole system (which I’ve used for well over thirty plus years now without honestly any issues until this fishroom) can easily be 100% automated I.e: finished by simply plugging it into a programable timer. That’s really all that hasn’t happened. I can say that I was truly gutted when I walked into the room and saw what I had done. I truly thought I had lost everything. But truthfully the next morning, even today their have been zero issues to any of the inhabitants and not a single death. I’m floored but it definitely shows their resilience.
      Regardless the timer is happening right away! Not fair to the aquarium fish in my care to have gone through this not once by twice now.
      Thank you for your comments and continued support.
      All the best for 2020!
