I enjoy my 5g stylus, but to be fair I upgraded to it from the first generation iphone SE that released in 2016 so honestly there's not much I could be disappointed with.
Well for $400 the Moto 5G Stylus seems like a no brainer. Unless you just need all the capabilities of the premium phones that cost $800+ then this phone will serve the average person's needs. My Moto G7 has served all my needs for past 2 1/2 years, so it looks like I'll be upgrading to the Moto 5G Stylus. My lifestyle doesn't require me to spend $800 for a phone. I'm surrounded by people who have spent that or more and I'm doing the same thing with my old G7 that they do with more or less the same results. Admittedly the new iPhones and Samsungs are reeeaaal nice, but there's no activity in my life that calls for a $1000+ phone. Now if I was a Vlogger then probably so!

It's weird that they have a Moto G Stylus 5G sold through metro pcs with 4GB of ram and 128 of storage. It seems like they switch specs up with carriers.
Yeah, i have the Cricket wireless branded version of the 5g and it's like a stripped down version with only 4gb of RAM and only 125gb of storage. But i got a good deal with cricket for $179.99 thats an awesome price for mid range device
No doubt, 2020 sounds great dual Dolby tuned speakers, camera is totally powerful and software is very cool. I'll keep till no more updates. Automatic update to Android 11 no cost and was effortless just turned it on one day and it was done in no time.
On the new 5G model at least sound is played through both the main and ear speakers at the same time, while not as effective as a true stereo speaker on the older model.
I'm disappointed in the Moto 5G. And that's coming from a guy that upgraded from a 2020 stylus. Performance is much different and the camera isn't as good. Can't even watch 4k yet alone record. Disappointing because 5G is only noticable concerning me Playing stadia. Big disappointments and thinking about selling it and switching back to 2020 version. Also don't have Dolby dual speaker's.

If you buy a wallet style case for the Moto G stylus 2021 the fingerprint sensor on the start button is useless. I finally got it to work by cutting the opening for the start button. I think Motorola realized this was a problem and went back to putting it in the back on the 5 G model. The wallet cases are nice for protecting your phone and the ability to carry credit cards and cash.
I have a wallet case on mine. It was closed with the magnetic strap in place. I dropped it and the screen broke. I guess I was unlucky that day. I've dropped it before maybe a handful of times and the wallet case saved me. First time I've ever cracked a phone or tablet screen 😞😞
I can't believe it... He made a mistake.. lol He said the depth sensing camera was for close up shots, and the macro is for portrait mode. It's opposite. LoL
Something must be wrong with that stylus 5G to score that low on the Geekbench. I have the same processor with my OnePlus N200 5G and the score is 503 and 1537.
FYI - I recently got a text message from Boost Mobile that they are dropping 3G from my LG G6. They offered me the Moto G Stylus 5G free. I paid a $35 activation fee.
Well there is fast charging for that if you use type c to type c connection and I have a 25 watt charger and the phone does go into turbo charge on the new Motorola 5G stylus just so you're aware
I'm wondering about the drawing uses of the 5G. I know that on the first Moto you had to be careful not to so much as touch the screen because you could end up adding extra lines with just your finger. Did they any chance fix that with the 5G? I had the Note 8 and I'm contemplating changing to a completely different brand after all the issues I've had regarding trying to turn it back on if the battery drains completely. I use my phone for drawing quite a bit so knowing this would help.
@Kevin Breeze : I'm not sure why your stylus 4G LTE version doesn't have the 0.5 video record mode. I have this model (2021 as shown in video), and it does indeed have this mode (I just checked). Perhaps you need to update the phone software?
Since Android 12, the camera on the non 5g version now allows for wide angle video (.5). I imagine many other similar updates are also active, except still no 4k 60p that i am aware. Also, using a usb-c charger I have always been able to get a 15watt charge with the non-5g version. Using usb-a it seems limited to 10watts. Since the capacity is so large compared to previous phones (can last 2 days with 4000!), I now stop charging at 80% instead of 100% daily. Its great not waiting for the trickle charge, and its possible the battery life will be greatly extended.
I find it really annoying when someone compares a budget phone to a high end phone. Example I was watching a review on the galaxy A-32 and the guy was saying it has a good 48mp camera but some Google phone forgot which one has the better camera, they always seem to compare a budget phone to a high end phone.

12:40 I bought Moto G Stylus 2021 one month ago, and I go from 100 to 0 in like 8 to 9 hours I don't understand how ppl praise the phone's battery. It seems to me like the phone is absolutely NOT optimised for a big quantity of apps I have. Seriously, there's not even a "close all opened apps" button. It's slow af. I bought Xiaomi 9T to check if I can use not a flagship device, - and compared to Xiaomi 2021 Stylus eats glue.
@Георгий Карманов... That's a wee bit strange as have the 2020 G Stylus (same 4000 mAh battery) and get excellent battery life. My average day is usually 18 hrs and at the end have at least a 70% charge left but usually more. Gone a whole weekend (3-days), and don't think my Stylus has ever dipped below 35-38% since owned. I'd say definitely something amiss with yours.

Moto G Stylus 4G LTE got Android 11, but sadly that means Android 12 is a year or more away :-( At least I could confirm it supports aptx, though not sure if it is automatic or you have to set it through developer options->system?->bluetooth codec and you will see whatever the phone supports, which is just aptx and SBS. (Audio HD must also be set to on).

In settings select Connected Devices (again, be sure to be connected to the device) and select 'Device Details' (the gear icon at the right). HD Audio should have an aptX version, so as long as HD Audio is selected so should the particular aptX. Again, Its right in the gear icon/Device Details page of the bluetooth device. If you are not actively connected to an aptX device, you will not see anything about aptX, though you might see HD Audio.
I just brought the 5g device from metro pcs for 300$ I definitely like the phone but here are some observations I made after a day of using 1. Fingerprint scan works really well 2. This device can definitely game. It runs codm smoothly on the highest graphic setting with no lag or overheating 3. It's a massive screen. It's almost 7 inches & you can definitely tell. It can get a bit uncomfortable to hold after a while but it's nothing that bad. Makes gaming and streaming really nice 4. Battery life is not that great. Even with light usage. I've only had this device for a day but the battery goes from full to 0 in less than 4hrs. You definitely aren't getting a full day's use from a full charge. I feel it's about the same battery life as my old Samsung galaxy a01 5. Stylus feels really nice. Writing is nice but I wise the point was a bit smaller for more smoother experience Overall 8/10.

You can actually put the 5g stylus in the 4g phone and the 4g stylus in the 5g phone. It will still give you that pop up stylus shortcut menu for both if you insert the wrong stylus. And when you put the wrong stylus back into the phone it will fit and give you a vibration telling you inserted the stylus into the phone. The 5g stylus pen is well designed and is built stronger than LG stylus pen. My 5g stylus the top plastic part broke and is bent but I inserted it into the phone 100 times and it still fits and has not broke yet. Of course what I did is risky because the pen could of broke when Inserted so I don't recommend trying to do what I did unless you don't mind spenting money on a new stylus pen. But that goes to show that Motorola makes stronger more durable stylus pens than LG and the pen can still fit despite the plastic part being bent. You could probably even save yourself some money and not get a new stylus replacement if the stylus is slightly bent.
Love my moto g stylus 2021 4g. Just hope we will get another update. I got the android 11. Do anyone think we will get any other updates as long as we own it in the future??
Hello Kevin and friends I've went from straight talk phone to Verizon a51 5g and asking why does a51 5g get so hot on the battery I've had to switch sims card 3 times and phone 2 times due to phone battery getting so hot that it's could hurt the screen of phone and kill the being able to use phone. Any help would be appreciated greatly.
There actually not stuck at 10 watts they just don't say nothing about faster charging and don't come with a faster charger. But they actually charge up to 18 watts with moto turbo charge. And it has gotten android 11 at this point
👀 had the 2020 blue indigo, then bought the 2021 5g cosmic green, and cracked that so got a 2021 4g Aurora black for $50 couldn't pass that up, it should be here ANYDAY YAY 😁 but I digress, 👀 cannot find the EIS on my 2021 5g cosmic green ANYWHERE!!! 😢 and for some reason my menus don't look like yours at all either I don't have that yellow looking button screen idk why????
I'd love some input from anyone who has experience with these! I know this is old BUT I just got the 5g and for some reason its currently selling for less than the 4g. I've now been seeing several people say the 4g has the superior camera quality. Which may or may not be due to the 4k, I'm not sure. Does anyone know of any comparisons between their 1080p 60fps video and photo capabilities? Thanks!

If you use a case with the Moto G stylus 2021 that side fingerprint is a pain but I do like the shortcut it uses but the 5g has screen recorder which the 4g model doesn't have
I just got one and doing my due diligence going around halfway searching for answers and halfway telling people to not buy it. It has crashed on me once already within 10 minutes and I had to do a hard restart. This is apparently a common issue. I feel like the old Moto e5 Plus I upgraded from was better which doesn't make sense. I guess the phone is just inundated with garbage that the processor can't handle it. This is a phone apparently optimized for certain things adults like me don't care about.

Just revived Motorola G5Ace absolutely hate it want to send it back ,it's just saying LTE can't here VM bought directly from Motorola! Already transferred the Sim this is my first smartphone and my huawei honor mate tablet is 10.8 which actually is 10.2 how the heck do I get the correct phone? FYI, on the Moto G Stylus 2021, you actually can record video with the wide angle camera, but only at 1080p and 30fps.

It breaks my heart, I would love to have green smartphone, but, judging on my experience, i won't buy Moto 5g stylus in the future

I found close all apps button. Went to every app disabled "background data". Battery saver on. Still, battery life is awful.

My 5g stylus the top plastic part broke and is bent but I inserted it into the phone 100 times and it still fits and has not broke yet. Of course what I did is risky because the pen could of broke when Inserted so I don't recommend trying to do what I did unless you don't mind spenting money on a new stylus pen. But that goes to show that Motorola makes stronger more durable stylus pens than LG and the pen can still fit despite the plastic part being bent. You could probably even save yourself some money and not get a new stylus replacement if the stylus is slightly bent.
Love my moto g stylus 2021 4g. Just hope we will get another update. I got the android 11. Do anyone think we will get any other updates as long as we own it in the future??

Hello Kevin and friends I've went from straight talk phone to Verizon a51 5g and asking why does a51 5g get so hot on the battery I've had to switch sims card 3 times and phone 2 times due to phone battery getting so hot that it's could hurt the screen of phone and kill the being able to use phone.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

The screen quality is worse on the 5g. i have both in front of me , its a let down ... the screen is smaller on the 5g as well

There actually not stuck at 10 watts they just don't say nothing about faster charging and don't come with a faster charger. But they actually charge up to 18 watts with moto turbo charge. And it has gotten android 11 at this point
👀 had the 2020 blue indigo, then bought the 2021 5g cosmic green, and cracked that so got a 2021 4g Aurora black for $50 couldn't pass that up, it should be here ANYDAY YAY 😁 but I digress, 👀 cannot find the EIS on my 2021 5g cosmic green ANYWHERE!!! 😢 and for some reason my menus don't look like yours at all either I don't have that yellow looking button screen idk why????
No gorilla glass on either of these phones. I'm thinking deal breaker.
Simply apply a shatter proof glass screen protector and use a good case.

I've now been seeing several people say the 4g has the superior camera quality. Which may or may not be due to the 4k, I'm not sure. I'm feeling a bit more reassured in my choice of a Stylus 4g. Can it use a pen from a Wacom tablet? That stylus is painfully skinny.

Unless you absolutely need 5g I would go with the 4g model. It has 128gb storage and 4gb of ram. I paid $160 and it's on the boost mobile network.

If you use a case with the Moto G stylus 2021 that side fingerprint is a pain but I do like the shortcut it uses but the 5g has screen recorder which the 4g model doesn't have

I just got one and doing my due diligence going around halfway searching for answers and halfway telling people to not buy it. It has crashed on me once already within 10 minutes and I had to do a hard restart. This is apparently a common issue. I feel like the old Moto e5 Plus I upgraded from was better which doesn't make sense. I guess the phone is just inundated with garbage that the processor can't handle it. This is a phone apparently optimized for certain things adults like me don't care about.

Great vid but, man, you completely botched pointing out that the 5G stylus is symmetrical and can be inserted any way. One of the huge upgrades I was looking for from my LG Stylo 4.
Both devices have symmetrical styluses. The 2020 model doesn’t have a symmetrical stylus.

Just revived Motorola G5Ace absolutely hate it want to send it back ,it's just saying LTE can't here VM bought directly from Motorola! Already transferred the Sim this is my first smartphone and my huawei honor mate tablet is 10.8 which actually is 10.2 how the heck do I get the correct phone? Plus it's saturated with Google everything I had to install a different keyboard cuz Google doesn't have a option to enlarge the keyboard , I miss my easy 3G flip phone I can use my huawei tablet until Google completely distroys it by disabling the apps that came with it like themes it's certified but I guess it doesn't matter!

I had the moto g stylus 2021 it was cool but I started running into problems with my lte kept acting up and the 🔋 didn't last two days as claim but overall it was an alright phone

It must be a software issue concerning the 4k since the 5g has a adrenal 619 GPU and the 4lte has an Adreno 612 GPU
