Who in their right mind would cancell this hilarious show. The cast are all 5 star comedians, the writers are the best and the performances are all the funniest ever. No show can top Madtv.
It's crazy how the cast of Mad TV mostly were bit players in other people's projects after this, other than Key and Peele, of course. SNL actors were far less talented but had the money behind them.
In the late 90's there definitely was a decision to be made with the VCR when I went to bed! MadTV or SNL. Both were in a golden period at the time. I wish I could have watched them both. I grew up on SNL but then there was this new show we were noticing was doing phenomenal stuff. I'd imagine the competition was very healthy. It made the old show work to produce better content. Also, these sketches are from at least Season 3. Will Sasso and Alex Bornstein started in Season 3, and Mo Collins and Mike McDonald started in Season 4. Thanks for uploading!
1:04:49 Is this where Keegan-Michael Key got the name for the principal in that famous skit where the substitute teacher gets all the white kids' names wrong?
This is why, i do like sketch comedy on public television, same thing with comedy central. MadTV is golden! MadTV is better than modern SNL. The new snl is okay to me.
This show was on with top ratings back when people had a sense of humor and knew how to laugh at satire and jokes overall! F**k WOKE-ISM! Bullshit! Go back to when things were not always 'politically correct' and skits were actually funny and made a person laugh!
Can't try to compare this to SNL because it wasn't filmed live. It's hilarious, but it's scripted, rehearsed, and polished. SNL, though scripted, is harder to pull off.
You do realize that snl always had dress rehearsals and a writer's room, right? Although, to be fair, snl stopped being funny because it leaned so heavily into politics and current events.

Brilliant actors who can't break that ceiling. I thought Sasso would be the next Chris Farley.
Phil Lamar has done well as a voice actor

Regis: Come on, Lance, you gotta have an answer to this one! All I asked was how you doing?
Lance: Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhh.....😂

Alex Borstein is so oddly attractive lol
Well, at this age she was, lol.
🤨

52:05
19:00 / 20:00
so basically as soon as will sasso left mad tv wasn't funny anymore
The Reading.
When will lost the weight, he was just never the same.
Yeah, how dare he focus on his health instead of making people laugh. What a jerk!
@tonyakrebs4137 he made a whole skit around the weight loss. Was actually pretty hilarious.

Also, SNL is mostly pre-recorded shorts at this point.
