The crew member suffered a broken leg but was ultimately OK!
The accident is at 55 seconds. Watch the bottom right of the screen - Авто/Мото
Those things are pretty quiet, it's really easy not to notice them coming up behind you.
💀💀💀💀🤣
They're stealth af.
He is probably deaf
Yeah. They like a b2-
They are quite loud actually!
And the best part of the video - YOU ALMOST GOT TO SEE IT HAPPEN!!!
Not
True. This is about worthless.

Alexzander Smith ah. ok
I could tell before watching by how tight the like/dislike ratio is that there wasn't gonna be much here to see!
The way the person flew just shows you how much power these machines really have!
What shows me how much power these have is the feeling you have through your chest when they launch. Intense
@@MusicalEssence Yeah, nothing can prepare first timers for sensory assault. If there are first timers around me or in my group, I don't even watch the race, I watch the newbie's faces.
Not 800 horse . Those top fuel dragsters have 10k plus.
Yep lots of horses in those

Wow that could have been very bad. I'm so glad that he's going to be okay but just that fast the man recieved a broken leg wow. I also hope that the driver was okay after that. That kind of thing can give you nightmares for along time so I'm glad everyone was okay

They need to get more people down there next to the cars. Maybe pull some out of the stands to mill around and take a few selfies and get some autographs !
+skagit69er Yer agreed LOL , if you' ve ever seen a Fuel engine backfire/ detonate on the start line you' know to treat these engines like they're a hand grenade . Seen the blower launch off 50 feet in the air knocking crew members unconscious on the way through , seen shooters including pistons and conrods into the crowd , clutch explosions , crankshafts drilling into the ground half the way to China ! Yep standing / milling around these engines is a real great idea ....
Saw a funnycar drop off its stands in the pits once injured a dozen spectators and damaged another teams car in the opposite pit.
Yeah, and maybe some toddlers and elderly people crawling around with their canes too, just to make it that much safer. Looks like OSHA should take a look at drag racing.
This is the definition of r/whoosh
lol
Lol all you professionals who know all there is to know about getting 10,000 hp down a track. Guys are there for a reason accidents happen but a lot more would if not for them.
How the hell did he survive that? From what I saw in this angle,
it looked like he got picked up and slammed down 10 feet away
by the Hulk!
Carmen Bernardo you can survive that, but you'll be in the hospital for a while. sometimes you can survive that and walk away from it, but that happens 1 out of 100000000% of the time
Two were actually hit one of them were just spun around and out of the way... the dude that went flying ... from another angle you see he gets his leg hit and it ripped his pant leg up real bad but you dont see any blood or anything i would imagine his leg was broken and several burns.
Got sucked up and rotated by the driver side rear tire, the traction and low air pressure in the tire held him like a glove until it released him airborne in front of the tire slamming him into the pavement. At least this is what it look like to me
@@christaniforgotmylastname780 A marshal was killed in a similar way in a CART race in Vancouver in 1990 when the rear tire of a passing car threw him into the ground causing him to slam his head on the pavement
He wasn't slammed that's called down force.
what the hell I've never seen a 4-way strip
Grass_Concept Charloette, NC.
Grass_Concept: the strip is in Charlotte North Carolina
I've been to North Carolina and I've never seen or heard of a 4 way drag strip there
Welcome to the big league

the reason why the car moves forward was the guy on the left side opened the butterfly up to spray the fuel in. for some reason someone kicked the stater at the same time and she come to life
Exactly, why people need to pay more attention or your playing with danger.
Wait what! He wasent trying a burn out?! I mean your right I do believe, because the rest of the crew was a bit shocked also you could tell😆 I think another guy was standing up too. But thats shot af! Dk how that could happen with all the training..
The butterfly? LOL....👌
@@stickboyfpv4742 he wasn't in the staging area yet. Hadn't even rolled the back tires through the water onto the actual strip yet. Sadly accidents become more common when you do the same routine so often. Probably just moving too fast
@@rodrunion8899 the parts that open on the blower. theres a pin that holds them closed for the burn out

thanks captain obvious
It was nice to see everyone from other teams come to his aid.

And a caring man rolls up on a sweet 0.25 horse moped to lend a hand, very thoughtful.
He seemed to be a little to far back in staging to do his burn out on top of running over his crew mate
Actually, it happened during engine start .... here is a better view
ruclips.net/video/9zQcuzf-I_E/видео.html
The man who was ran over was the starter operator. A flood if nitro during the startup procedure ignited causing the engine to rev unexpectedly. Nitromethane is a beast of a fuel and very explosive.
M thats a good explanation thank you
@@dgretlein you are the real MVP
what first came to my mind...
When those things crackle to life, don't wander around in front of the slicks.
"Man I feel like I've been run over by a
_whole herd of horses!"_
Lol like 8k of them
Definitely need some more people walking around the launch area..
Where did that "rag doll" come from on the track?
Dragster drivers are only awake for 4 seconds.....the rest of the time they are asleep .......
Well let's just get about two dozen more non essential people down there. Goddamn!
I just subbed just to get your channel to 999, hope to see you hit the 1k soon and have a great day! Oh and the video was nice, quite scary but hey these cars are monsters!
Thanks for the sub!
@@BenjaminPlaysRust Your welcome! Have a great day!
How long he work as top fuel dragster?
Coach "Sit Down, he's alright, just got the wind knocked out of him. Reggie Ray stays in the Goddam Game!"
I think it was a hit & run insurance scam. :)
Rub some dirt on it boy & get yo' ass back in there...NOW! 🤣💨
In just that little burst how fast do you think the car was moving?
was that the greek?
Why did the drive hit the throttle when he wasn't yet in the burnout area?
I would imagine the cars in the first 2 lanes had to be getting pretty hot.
True but it takes longer than you might think. Nitro methane & methyl alcohol burn much cooler than gasoline! That's why the engines use so much fuel on a run, you can force much more fuel into the engine to develope more power!
What happened the driver wasn’t in the burn out stage was he?
Why did the driver hit the gas before he was in the staging area?
Wow was he okay?
"Don't tread on me!"
Wild Child, you are a cool dude, love your comment.
Why was the car applying any kind of throttle outside the track?
How hurt was he?
What car / team was it ?
Do NHRA rules forbid blood and guts as a traction enhancer?
Who won the race?
Did he die
It looked like he was in front of the car?? Hlad to hear he is ok.
Did the crewman manually hit the throttle and it was in gear or what?
good ole,chris kerimeseies
0:55 the moment you have all been waiting for
cual accidente?
Is that 4 racing lanes so they can stage up faster by putting 2 at the tree, while doing burnouts on the other 2?
Kinda like having 2 double barrel shotguns.
That would sure speed up the racing. My step son races in San Antonio and it takes forever to work his way up to the line.
That's the most impressive Drag strip I have ever seen. 👀
They’re in north/south Carolina and Colorado i believe
@@jakerose4313 Gatornationals used to have the fastest track anywhere. After they shortened the true 1/4 mile, I quit watching. Was so much fun as a kid, now the sport is ruined.
Why did the driver light em up way back there??
Same thing happend at the Gatornationals about 3 years ago. Luckily the guy was not hurt.
Sooo....did they race still?
What's "top fuel" anyway?
Thank you Rick Moore that clears it up. Poor guy never saw it coming. And what the blank was that guy thinking shooting fuel into it right then? It's as if or maybe it was that he had it in for the poor guy. I'll bet the cops would be really interested in seeing your video 📹 🤔. Let's see what do they call that attempted. I don't even want to say it. But thanks for the inside info.
That little bit of fuel isn't enough to raise 100 rpm in that engine. These things have 42 mechanical injectors just to give it enough fuel during the 3 seconds at full throttle. That squirt of fuel did nothing if that's even what it was.
A squirt of fuel like that into any car isn't gonna do much.
@@ryanwinkelman1781 You're right. I'm not sure what the comment was from earlier, but what seems to be going on is they couldn't get the car fired, so they were scrambling. Normally, before starting the car, the guy with the gas bottle will open the blades and squirt fuel in, let the blades close, and then later will slowly leak some fuel into the injector when the guy working the starter hits the switch. I'm guessing because of the scramble the gas bottle guy was opening the blades to squirt fuel in while the guy with the starter was starting the engine. That means the engine started with the throttle open, and revved up while he (or another crewmember) was in a bad spot.
Nice 7 years later I seeing this 😂
Just like the first Indy race in Vancouver BC, a volunteer track helper tried to go across the track and was clipped by one of the rear wheels. Well…not clipped…full contact. He died instantly😢
Didn't get ran over the tire pushed him away
Nice, the actual accident was almost in the video shot.
Feel bad for that guy dragters are up to 11000 hp insane
Wow he almost walked it off. Unbelievable.
Where is it? 🤔
Aye 9 years and it got recommended
He wasn't in the burnout box. Makes me think his foot slipped
The driver didn't touch the throttle. Watch it from another angle. The butterflies on the blower never move. Purely accidental.
so who won?
It looks like he got flung over the tire
So the guy was okay? Omg
where's the icecream truck OH their it is.
I love NHRA SO COOL
I always wondered if that has happened before lot of crew members walking around the car someone makes a mistake.
What was his 60' please?
This should be top comment.
Jeff H Age don't mean thing bro! Never too old for drag racing man.
Jeff H 😂😂😂😂😂, doesn't matter, that fella red lighted
185lbs man top fuel dragster 0-like70 in a second. If my maths correct.. He got to the hospital in about 7 minutes.
ah yes the dark humor XD this needs more likes
He came flying out like a #4 Pin at the Bowling Alley
Chris did not hit the throttle, a crew member squirted fuel in the engine. Here's a better shot of it ruclips.net/video/HTobPSCONtU/видео.html
Thanks for that link. There should be a safety regime keeping the brakes on while squirting fuel in, which there probably is but failed this time. Also maybe not stand in front of the wheel. But he was definitely too fat to be working out there anyway. Bad shape definitely makes him get hurt easier. Looked like he'll be okay though.
i was about to fucking say, all those people there and the best angle they choose is one that dosn't even show what happened? Thank you mate.
wow thanks
Rick Moore thank you, i was bummed when I thought it was the drivers fault
I dont think you are really supposed to do that even when the engine is on.
Any damage to the tire?
Denim it. Denim it, Tire Hell! No.
Must of fired it up in gear on accident or had the throttle part open? If you notice none of the car rev up before they hit the track. They all idle up first.
He was surprised it could move so quickly.
Damn! I hope he’s OK after getting run over by a super sticky 12,000 hp conveyor belt
Did he die?
It looked more like he was adjusting a wheel, then the force of tire twirled him around.
If you have never been to the ZMAX dragway for the four-wide Nationals you must go It is insane watching for top field dragsters and even funny cars going down the track at the same time if you think two of them are super loud and exhilarating going down the track just wait till you see four of them in person going on the track It makes your chest sink into your body and it just shakes your bones to the core it is insane how loud it is especially if you stand right next to the track or if you're at the start finish line like I was it feels like your whole body is getting shook to death it's nuts hard to explain just got to go do it and see for yourself
...did that guy just get up and walk away??? Damn! Someone was on his side!
Now that was Savage hopefully he was okay and walked off of it
Guess he didn't hear it coming. They are kinda quiet.
I think he felt the power.
Would have been a mess if he got that throttle open 😬
So all those folks in the stands and this is the only footage?
nope there are others floating about
Why did the driver do a burnout before the water box?
That is what I was thinking? Usually they roll though the box and then do the burn out. Crazy.
No, he burned out before he hit the bleach box.
I’ve been on that track during 4 wide. There’s nothing like feeling all that horsepower & I mean feeling it, really feeling it. 🥴 My BF was on a NHRA Team, it’s a dangerous job.
If remember rightly the car was in gear and a crewman squirted fuel into the intake not realising it was in gear, excuse me if I'm not sure or wrong. Now I'm doubtful myself!
His shoelace got caught in the exhaust belt.
@@Yyyyyy5 lol
they dont have gears, or a transmission, centrifugle clutch...
Is he died?
Ok but who won???
Update- the crew member was actually invisible
Damn, they should have still made that run
NHRA officials should immediately ordered the shutdown of the two running dragsters so they could communicate easier with the victim .
A top fuel dragster is like the most pissed off machine on the planet, don’t get too comfortable
Really cool
A lot of trust lost in that crew no matter who or what the cause.
What the hell was the driver hitting the throttle that that far behind the box anyway? Hope he lost his license until he figures it out!
he didn't get run over,,,,he got pushed over,,,,
Somehow read the title as "Cucumber Runs Over Top Fuel Dragster"
“Actual video of cameraman missing the good part. - WARNING: NOT GRAPHIC AT ALL”

Praying he is ok, accident's do happen
3 people. massive
You couldn’t see anything so how could you know what happened.
there is another video from another angle that someone posted. the link is further above. between this video and that one, one can kind of figure it out.
