No matter what this particular C6 throws at you, even if it bites you, again, we both know that once it is fixed, the first drive on the road will assure you it was worth it. Hang in there mate.
I'm very impressed. Always like your sensible engine bay improvements over flimsy original parts. Engine bay looks like new. Super drawing by your talented neice Richard. 👍
That C6 is so lucky to have you be it's owner. That said, you are never done with a Citroen. I will say you are one heck of a car mechanic. A lot of others would have made it a boat anchor. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and I hop your trip is enjoyable. Glad your hand is healing nicely.
The joy of modern cars! Working on them is never easy! I myself drive a Lancia Thesis and thinking about buying a C6 too. Good to know that accessibility in the engine compartment is even worse than the Lancia……….😊
Another fantastic video thank you, this is so useful to us that want to do some work on our C6 but are a bit intimidated by the complexities, please do a video about changing the gear oil
The most loved C6 in the UK if not the world! Why did the Citroen engineers make this car so complex? Congratulations on the completion of this Herculean task and for your endless patience, a lot of which, I suspect, you will still need for another fews days / weeks !
I'm seriuosly impressed with how well you did to remember how that all went back together, hope the leak isn't too deep in the guts of it. What was that track, had a Big Country vibe to it? Well done, you're so nearly there.
I found a similar leak by pressure testing the coolant system, it would hold pressure and slowly leak down and i could not find the leak. It turned out eventually to be the curved 90 degree pipe on the front egr unit was leaking underneath the 90degree bend section and evaporating on the EGR cooler when hot (the round stainless bit). It was spraying out only at 2500-3000rpm and evaporating away! It was found to be a pin hole in the hose! Well done for the work so far. Bring a roll of Gorilla tape to France and you can then wrap these pipes if you get leaks along the way. As you mentioned the pipes are the real problem with the engines (2.HDi & 3.0) The poor plastic tanks and poor quality coolant hoses are the real problems. Otherwise the car is great!
Haha I loved the way the music kicked in at the end, good editing there 😂 I'm hoping it was just a hose clamp you forgot to do up tightly that's easily accessible.
I wasn't debating it, to be fair! I made the choice to do it, and having seen how it performed round France the other day, I'm definitely happy with my decision.
So you're back and forth: "To keep it? Or not to keep it?" wondering whether it is too impractical even as a luxury. You sound like Hamlet. And then you put waterless coolant in it. That looks like a long-term commitment to me. You're whipped and you should call her Circe the C6. On another point: we shall be the judges as to whether or not your content is interesting. Surely you have heard of Slow TV? I think there was a channel in Norway that screened the real time journey of a local stopping train along the coast. There's a RUclips channel of a guy washing mud out of carpets. Your content is riveting. Though I don't think I've seen you use a rivet, yet.
I saw your comment on the oil level being full, and remembered seeing someone on RUclips commenting that was not a good idea on these engines. He advised on leaving at the half mark, because these engines didn't like being overfilled and max level was dangerously close to overfilled. Then I went to find said video: ruclips.net/video/qFEcg3ZrGIY/видео.html He mentions this at about the 9:50 mark; there are other C6 videos on said channel. Love your channel, love the videos!
Headlights need no update, they're brilliant. Nav - it's old tech, sure, but the aftermarket Android ones are terrible. You assume they'll be like a modern smartphone, and they're not. They're more similar to a ten year old basic laptop that hasn't been defragmented for its whole life.
As a matter of interest, in your experience, have you come across any other vehicle more finicky than this? And if so, can you shame them? I mean name them, sorry!
No, I don't think I have. Later TVRs (Cerberas & Tuscans particularly) can be as pain inducing, but as far as all versions of pain combined go, this is probably the worst so far. A suspect something like a Maybach or Phaeton would be worse, though.
long enought toget the cooing fans to start? Tha's basically long enough to melt granit. That's the most irritating part ofworking on modern PSA cars. Every FN componnt replacement requires runing it up to temp which is basically impossible in a garage environment. Also running the car up to 3000rpm on every gear to initiate diesel injectors. You can't even legally do that unless you go to germany. What would you estimate the speed at 3000rpm would be in 6th gear on a diesel?
That is the luckiest C6 in the UK, having you as an owner.
Agreed.
No matter what this particular C6 throws at you, even if it bites you, again, we both know that once it is fixed, the first drive on the road will assure you it was worth it. Hang in there mate.
So very close but looks like you’ll have to wait for the cigar. Glad to see she didn’t try to kill you this time 👍

Great video as always. Your niece has got serious talent, that picture is the double of you.

The series that keep son giving.
OMG that's a pain, you should get an SM.
Great little tinkering video Rich as always.
Ah! The great C6 test of patience. Holy crepe, that thing is complicated.

They are Citroen engineers, it's just what they do.

It's just something from the RUclips audio library. Can't use mainstream music.

Even after more than a year, this series is giving me anxiety issues.
😆
Thanks for sharing the C6 video. :D 'Uncle Richard' for sure has a similar eye look to yours (masterpiece!)
Let the Evans debate go on...and on and on and on and on...
Each to their own.
I wasn't debating it, to be fair! I made the choice to do it, and having seen how it performed round France the other day, I'm definitely happy with my decision.
Yes..close but no cigar, you will get there in the end!
Another good video 🚘🚙🚗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍👍

Nice!! It will be something simple and all the bolts have been off all ready.. Yeah the drawing is,,,you!
Quality entertainment 👌
Yep go on admit it.... you love her.😊
I do
It’s all very interesting… In answer to your question ❤
The sketch looks more like The Scream by Edvard Munch..which was probably a good likeness.🙄😆😅

Cheers, will check it out.
You have as much luck I do with my dad's M59 berlingo 😂😂.
It was going so well ...
What about update for headlights? Is there a led solution? And also do you think that is there an nav update there , Like an android one?
Headlights need no update, they're brilliant.

11:53 must be getting bad if the vaseline has come out
Great series of C6 cooling videos… but what happened to fixing it before the night before your trip to France jeopardy??
It wasn't the night before, it was the week before
I would just give the C6 a clean and then put it on a small pedestal in the corner of your garage, just to look at.
Only if you could replace every sodding pipe with those blue silicone ones eh!
The problem is new cars aren't designed to last, that doesnt make the company money. Looks like a nightmare 😮
Quick get a bucket, don't waste it as that's about £20 worth on the floor already! 😉
There are people you can go to for sadomasochistic pleasure; might be cheaper than owning a C6?
Hopefully just something needs tightening, given the drip speed.
If only!
Uncle Richard needs some eyebrows….
I think if you parked the C6 overnight in Leigh Park you'd find all it's problems fixed in the morning
I don't think a Citroen C6 is the sort of car that'd get nicked, even in that neck of the woods!
As a matter of interest, in your experience, have you come across any other vehicle more finicky than this? And if so, can you shame them? I mean name them, sorry!

My 2.2 idtec CRV 3000 rpm is an indicated 80 odd mph
@@neilcussons4744 Yeah quite alot more than we are allowed here in sweden a least.
Not quite alot but some since our max now is 120Kph and not 110 like it was most of my life on the road.
Ugh, please get rid of those eyesore blue hoses.i know they're mainly out of sight under the engine cover, but still😢
They serve a purpose, I didn't have any black ones.
#pass the Picasso going to France?
I would have given up on this car a long time ago. Modern cars are not meant to be fixed, which is a very bad thing.
😬
