STORYLINE
FASHION GREATS REMEMBER MCQUEEN IN LONDON SERVICE
Fashionistas celebrated the life and legacy of Alexander McQueen in a solemn ceremony at St. Paul's Cathedral on Monday, seven months after his suicide shocked the designing world.
The service for McQueen briefly brought London Fashion Week to a halt as top designers, models and editors came to pay their respects to the enfant terrible of British fashion, who was 40 when he died in early February.
He had a history of depression and was said to be devastated by the recent loss of his mother. His suicide has deprived the British fashion world of its biggest and most controversial star.
The service was attended by many of the models and actresses who loved McQueen's work, including Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jade Parfitt and others, including designer Stella McCartney.
Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of the American edition of Vogue magazine, was the first of McQueen's admirers to speak. Wearing an elegant black-and-gold outfit, she praised his "exceptional legacy of brilliant inspiration."
She said McQueen was never satisfied with his work and always vowed to do better, even when he had broken new ground.
Wintour and others hinted at his dark side. She spoke of his sometimes 'savage tongue' and the discomfort he felt with the social niceties required by the fashion world.
"We always forgave Alexander," she said after describing how McQueen failed to show up for his first-ever Vogue photo shoot and then told editors there that he couldn't care less about the magazine _ one of the fashion industry's most influential publications.
Icelandic singer and actress Bjork, wearing an unusual McQueen outfit complete with mock wings, sang " Gloomy Sunday," a dark song dealing with death and loss popularized by American singer Billie Holiday.

This funeral is better than fashion week
I went to Savage Beauty twice, and cried twice, always at the same part - the cabinet of curiosities. The music in there just did it. What a sad sad waste of life, a glorious talent and one in a lifetime

Excuse me? THAT'S DAPHNE GUINESS, the closest friend of them all and his first MUSE! and the best dressed, in real McQueen attire.
5:22
PERIOD.
Lee would've wanted it this way
The elite going to church? And nobody melted? Lol
I see the complicity.
It is a genius who designs these clothes and a fool who wears them.
DAPHNE GAVE ME ALL THE DRAMA I NEEDED IN THIS FUNERAL HAHAAHA
0:49 iconic
W the Church bell ringing in the back too ✨🤌🏻
Anybody that turned for the photographers … Looking at you SJP, should be ashamed 😣
I've seen Anna Wintour and Sarah Jessica Parker, and I think both of them are total class. And what is with a quickly put together a huge named funeral service? And everyone has just the perfect little black dress, heels and all are a size 000? I guess being in fashion... one must be ready to be looking good for the cameras!
Oh, Stella♥️😔
Daphne seemed to be sniffing a lot 😂😂
Who is the bright blonde chick?
Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell were there also looking great! Lee Alexander McQueen did all that he had to do, and then he's in heaven with his mom and Isabella! ❤❤❤ And a zillion of fans and friends! For he is loved!
looks like these poeple go to church every sunday anyway
8 or so years past, could be sitting with a sign that reads, ‘Say his name’. All so public, so private, seems a bit off that the channel title of the video doesn’t specify who has been laid to rest, as though it were ‘fit for print’ as a news paper headline. 👌 Seeing the human being. Appreciating each other.
Sara she is horrendous
vacuous
Looks more like a party
Lack of respect
They literally woke and said what will make me look good at this funeral and they all failed
Fashion posers
I rarely take any time to make comments due to the endless hate mafia hidden behind electronic devices but I was really inspired by the incredibly insulting way people were conducting while killing time to enter Shul, a few of the anorexic girls had a serious comedy moment attempting to walk in some strange shoes, the Designer Alexander McQueen was incredibly irreverent, controversial, rude and repulsive, but if you are attending his funeral service, self respect common sense would dictate a proper decorum. Not the case here. It is rather obvious that the level of education of most of these guests is close to inexistent, perhaps they were manual labor help?

Queen 👑 of the punks ! I will miss you dear vivienne 😭😭😭🖤🖤🖤🖤
It’s not Vivienne westwoods funeral. This was 7 years ago!
The things we view that teeter right on the bubble of normalcy .. like 44 black SUVs stopping traffic to carry Donald Trump to his arrest at taxpayer expense, or watching a slew of arrogant “models” try to walk in the real world.
Uh duhhhh but who is the deceased fashion designer???? You might would have wanted to put the name in the title!!!!!!!!
People smiling. Posing for pics wtf
