Hi guys. I'm the builder of K-9. Thanks again to Dave for inviting me to talk about my tin dog. It was great working with him. The Dallas Makerspace is also very impressive and I met some great people there.

I think your replica may be an improvement over the original. However, this is coming from someone who never watched the classic series, and only a tiny amount of the modern series.

Doctor Who is kind of one of those shows that you either like or hate it. There is no middle ground. Yet for a series spanning over 50 years and 14 different Doctors. Also having some rather long lasting drawn-out jokes that a lot the younger generations who like the series never realized how old some jokes are.
Yet say. If you at least have a small enjoyment of Sci-Fi. I suggest at least watching one or two episodes. Though best go as early as you can. Even if somethings are corny or silly (Like that of the 60s running). Got to stick with it. As they are rather classical in the way they present Sci-Fi and other things.

Wow! I remember building my half scale Dalek back in 2002 using an old Roomba, a garbage can, and styrofoam balls cut in half. Essentially the same things the prop department used back when Tom Baker was The Doctor. It's blaster consisted of an automatic airsoft gun mounted with it's barrel inside some plastic to hide the wires for the LEDs I used to illuminate the acrylic rings at the end. I really wish I still had it but it was destroyed in a storage unit fire back in 2007. At some point in the near future when I have the time and money I'll build another one. Ironically it will likely cost less than half what the original did considering the advancements in cheap single board computers and pre-mounted microcontrollers in the form of Arduino. I'll be sure to send you a message when/if I get started on it.

I haven't been able to complete the song yet, it lacks a minute or so, plus final mixing. However, I hope to do so next week after returning from a trip I have to do at work these next days. :)

ah yes k-9, was a popuar lil dog to start with but got a bit annoying and was only used as a side person, in the 80's the doctors newer side kick serah jane smith got k-9 and a spinn off was made, sadly it failed to get any more popuar, then in 2007 with the new doctor who show came the serah jane files, which had k-9 in them only until the 4th season when luke went to uni and was given k-9,

Such an awesome build. I hope I’ll be able to build something as advanced as this one day as I’m getting into tech building but because I’m computer illiterate but handy with my hand so the soldering and building parts I can do but need to find someone to partner with me and can teach me computing and coding which is what I really want to learn.

You guys need to do more videos together, this was awesome! Love Doctor Who. Really good job on the replica, now you just need to find one of those robot vacuum machines and steal the drive system and sensors from it, that would be insane!
