The drying process when making powdered garlic, causes nutrient loss and it also destroys the live enzymes it contains. It is still healthy, but no where near as effective as fresh garlic.
Garlic is not poisonous to dogs. I have 3 dogs who eat a raw diet & eat fresh, raw garlic 2x weekly. This is a very controversial subject with alot of disinformation surrounding it. Onions however are very toxic although they are loaded with quercetin which is great for dogs.

One of my cats has been eating my garlic chives in the garden all of her life... yet 'they' say it's poisonous for cats.
