Samantha, I went to the Angelina Las Vegas show, which was a dream come true for this old Angel! The evening was the highlight of my life following Angelina's career from 7 to 18. Her voice was like a fine wine-matured bouquet satisfying your soul for jazz fulfillment. I was filled with tears remembering Angelina when she was a little girl wearing a white dress, missing teeth, long black hair, and now a breathtakingly beautiful young Lady!

Angelina Jordan’s, once-in-a-millennia talent is the best, hands down the best I’ve ever heard in my life. Her affect on me has been life altering. I’m absolutely addicted to her voice. I can not go a day without listening to Angelina sing.

The quality of Angelina's voice does not get compromised live because even in studio she does not use auto tune or anything like that like so many others. But Angelina is such a creature of the stage, she is often better live because I believe when she is on stage she gets feedback from the audience which makes her make different choices which makes everything even better ❤❤❤❤👣

Her and Toby had another two perfromances 3 days later, just with him on the piano, no strings. The 1was st at the IVARDS Awards Backstage livestream from Amanzon Music, the 2nd at a tiny venue at a Sofar event. "Sofar" stands for "SOngs From A Room", and they had like 25 paticipants there. It was professionally recorded, and it was dropped just two days ago. and many fans believe its the best version of the song yet. Samantha, always love your heartfelt reactions to Angelina - her music is so soul-stirring, time after time after time, for you and for us. Someone who had never even heard Angelina before, most likely the organizer of this event (called Other Songs Live, which honored songwriters) added a caption to a social media post of Angelina's performance along the lines of "One of the best live covers I've ever heard". This presumably from someone who has heard a LOT of music. She's once in a lifetime, and the rest of the world just doesn't know it yet ... but they will.

There are actually six versions of this out! Four are live performances! Two official videos! Beyoncé covered this song. BC Jean one of the cowriters originally sang this! Angelina’s exquisite talent and vocal’s allows her to tell the story of the song so the listener can feel the emotions behind the lyrics! She just showcased the audience her vocal abilities effortlessly! Look at her poise and grace, she has brought back elegance to the stage! She never fails to amaze!

To expand on the story that Toby told about the song, he and BC Jean were writing songs for Jean’s debut album. They made a demo of If I Were a Boy but Jean’s label rejected it. Apparently her record deal eventually fell through so Toby took the songs they had written and marketed them to established artists. That’s how Beyoncé ended up recording this song. Jean supposedly wasn’t very happy about that at first because she had not planned on giving her songs to others but I think everything was worked out.

No Angelina did not perform this song in Las Vegas in February. She was asked by Toby Gad to perform this song for his Piano Diaries album which was released in May. In an article from February Toby is talking about the project and who was recording with him but it seems that he still had not found someone to record this song. So Toby and Angelina probably hadn’t met yet by the time of her Vegas concerts.
