Muuat player should probably jump on that to be honest, assuming the Nekro is not right next door. xD I kinda feel like in order to win as Muatt, you _must_ sell that War Sun promissory note to as many other players as you can at an absolutely bonkers high price, to get you that boost you need since the faction isn't that strong.
Was especially interested in this guide as I played Muatt in my last game. I came so close to winning that game and was stymied at the end by a Vuil'Raith action card that locked down my system with the war suns by putting one of my tokens on it. I didn't use my hero in that one, and went the Sarween tools route in terms of the tech tree. I did sell my promisory note to Barony, then Vuild'Raith and Nekro stole the technology from him - so there was 6 or 7 warsuns on the table at the end! And it was the first time I had ever had one! :) But I will happily play Muatt again - fun faction to play, for sure.
Definitely one of my favourite factions. I usually use the threat of Nova Seed to avoid being bullied, but your video has made me consider trying to find a spot to place it where I can essentially get a forward production base. I typically avoid SAR and Sarween as I usually only produce at home and rely on Umbat and Starforge for most of my other production. Though teching to AI dev first does have a bad feeling as you are not getting any value out of it for another round or two. Having SAR and AI dev with at least 2 unit upgrades would make me a lot less afraid to lose plastic in a fight. I really like going hard red tech for PWS2 and Assault Cannon (just cooler). This is a more likely tech path if I'm facing fighter swarm factions as I can pick up destroyer 2 early. But more and more I find myself going Grav Drive and Carrier 2 to have the extra capacity and extra movement earlier. If the game has a lot of tech (from ACs, Agenda's, etc) and you do get all the way down red after that you end up with a really nice 3 movement fleet of 2 warsuns and a carrier with 18 capacity. It also covers you for 2 in 2 colour tech objectives - I usually forgo PDS, so I am writing off structure objectives as Muaat but you offer an interesting change of strategy.
Solid video! I can't think of anything I'd add, other than maybe to point out that not only are PWS vulnerable to Direct Hit, but also if your opponents have one in their hand they're VERY likely to save it specifically for you!
I just won my very first game with this faction. It was the most satisfying win ever too, I used the Hero at a critical moment and it all came down to 1 influence/trade good for my opponent & he ran out of options
I'm actually playing this faction on Saturday (for the first time). I'm going to try and see how "Trade" works as a first-round pick. The group I play with REALLY values tech, and I can just get the secondary of tech, while still having my commodities available. Plus, considering how many initial planet explorations have "spend a commodity or trade good for an infantry or get a mech," this will give me a little planet defensive boost. The agent is self explanatory in why I'll use as soon as possible. As for the tech paths... I'm hoping for either a Yellow or Blue skip, so I can eventually get Carrier 2s and Prototype War Sun 2s. I'm not sure, but I feel like Blue tech is going to be important (especially early game to claim some really valuable planets and get my economy online by turn 2). Just my ramblings, but loved the video, and definitely some different perspectives.
@@23Silverknight No. My opponents are Sol, Mentak, Naalu, Mahact, and Titans. If I'm near Mentak, this could be bad, but at least there's no Cabal or Nekro in the game!
Getting promise of protection would be helpful. If your goal is to get trade. You might want pregame some deals ahead of time. Selling your promissory note might be helpful. You could let the table know that it's worth at least 12 trade goods. They may balk at that but remind that it costs you a fleet and get the a unit upgrade and they would be skipping a lot pre reqs. For Mentak, warsuns is pretty close so it will be worthless to them. You could also talk to mahact lifting one your tokens. Those a few nuggets of thoughts about Muaat. Could talk forever about them. 😆
@@23Silverknight Well, as an update, I actually pulled off the win! The last round I was 100% the arch villain of the table, but due to some shenanigans that happened throughout the game, plus some clever deals, I managed to take home my groups first Muaat victory! Final score Muaat: 10 Mentak and Mahact: 7 Titans: 6 Nalu: 5 Sol: 4
Hey guys to use Umbaat’s ability to make a carrier and mech don’t you need 5 resources? How do you do this ability when your starting planet only has 4 resources?
Sadly you do not get the right ammount of money to get a mech and a carrier in the first round. Carrier 3 and mech 2 and you only got 4 from your home planaet. I played them last weekend. As you said my freinds are assholes nad put the supernova far away from me. We also did not had the OMEGa version of my technology so I never even tried to go there. Was jsut a sad game and in th ened I lost with 8 VP in round 6.

Late to this. Looks cleaner 👍
Longest wait of my life thank you
You’re very welcome 😉
Picturing the Nekro player making a deal:
‘Hey buddy, how would you like all my promissory notes for… oh, just one of yours…’

Definitely the HOTTEST faction! 😍

As good as having a war sun is nothing will beat a table of war sun's all slugging it out 😍
I await this more than paychecks every week.
Love you too, BGT
I always allow people to play 1 Hazzard next to them if their faction needs it.
Ghost, space bats, space dogs, must, etc.
How can you build a carrier and a mech in your first turn with the agent if your home planet only has 4 resource value?
Exactly what I've been wondering, so many guides say mech and a carrier but none explain how.
Exploration can give you extra commodities/TGs, you can negotiate for the secondary of trade. You can get a discount tech like Sarween or AI.
Definitely one of my favourite factions.

love the embers, major downside is that since you start with a warsun everyone else fears/guns for you

Muaat: 10
Mentak and Mahact: 7
Titans: 6
Nalu: 5
Sol: 4
Congrats on winning with one of the more difficult factions to win with. 😃
How did you like how they played?
Carrier 3 cost + Mech 2 cost = 5 resources
How? I only have 4 resources!
Use the trade card, exploration, or tech card for Saraeen Tools.
One minor nitpick... sorry... 😅
It's Muaat.
I know, I know I am that guy. 😊
AW SHOOT! Back to the drawing boards…
I’m that guy too, it’ll get fixed soon.
People writing it as "Muatt" make me gag, so I feel you :) XD

I would easily spend 10$ to get my own War Sun. 😃
Would love to see more strategy videos, round one suggestions, and maybe even gameplay where heroes are used
Sounds good! How would you feel about a hero tier list?
