Andrew Rayel is a DJ and producer from Moldova. He studied orchestral music and from a very early age, he started with producing music as well. You might know Andrew from releases such as “How Do I Know”, “Dark Warrior”, “Horizon”, “Silver Lining” and of course his track “550 Senta”, which came out in December 2011.
For this week’s vlog I sat down with Andrew Rayel to ask him about the story behind “550 Senta” and more.

About the ASOT 550 Anthem part, I truly couldn’t remember what the events that happened in that time period until I watched this.
I do remember that Armin held a contest for the anthem, guys like W&W participated (their entry track, Invasion, ended up being the winner)
But all this time I’ve been thinking that 550 Senta was among the tracks that was in the competition that did not make it but the guys at Armada loved that it became 550 themed track that gets heavy rotation in Armin’s playlist
But today I finally found out the true story from the interview here haha, I’m glad the release happened, because it’s still among the best, if not the best Andrew Rayel track for me.
I only found out about the original mix a few years ago (it was virtually impossible to find the original mix because everyone is playing the Aether Mix at that time), but to me, I still prefer the Aether Mix by a long mile.
Just hoped it was mixed (engineered) better (but I’m sure it was so hard to mix there is so many things going on in that track)

Please make an Aether remix of Sub Zero Project - Our Church! I'm not into hardstyle but this track's melody lends itself perfectly to that 550 Senta sound!
It was really interesting to watch! Could definitely relate to many things he was saying. My experience with music schools in my country was very similar to Andrew's 🤪 and really interesting to know he started studying composition. I actually attended 5 years of such studies while I became a touring DJ - and they really are something extra challenging! Much respect for trying this direction but it's also very understandable why he chose to quit.
Regarding the form: I also submitted my own track for the anthem contest, and also found out that they didn't even receive it 😂

I did ask ATB for an interview a while ago already, but I did not get the answer I was hoping for.... So unfortunately there won't be an interview with ATB. If he's changing his mind, I'm more than happy to record 1 or 2 interviews with him, but for now I don't see it happen to be honest....
