  • RSL NSW President Mick Bainbridge says the Australian government has not done a great job of taking care of veterans once they return home from their service.
His remarks come as the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide is set to conclude soon with the final report expected to be released in October 2024.
“RSL NSW is working towards lobbying government to make sure that as many of these recommendations that fall from that report are implemented,” he told Sky News Australia.
“To protect veterans and not just veterans but their families who often suffer the full brunt of that service in terms of their transition from defence.”

Veterans should retire on what politicians do. They put there lives at risk for the government.
