Hello everyone! Thank you all so much for the support on this video, I'm glad this video is reaching more people and helping educate those who were unaware of these videos. I might make a part 2 at some point but with tiktoks sent to me by you guys! So feel free to send me some bad or good animal tiktoks you would like me to see on my pet instagram @sodapets

Let's talk about their trash hamster cage and the sand in the bearded dragon cage in this video
Thank you so much for doing this, i love to see that there are actually some people out there that are not just stupid af when it comes to animals. i won't send you videos because i will not make a tiktok because i just can't watch this.
@@colleenparkinson7520 no, there is no need to brush or clean a hamster because they are really good at doing it themselves. only if they have a disability or are sick. but if you watch a hamster closely you'll see them just sitting there and cleaning themselves most of the time when they are not eating, sleeping or playing.

Sergio even if he/she/they aren’t vegan it doesn’t mean they hate animals it’s just human decency
@Sergio are you dumb?
Let me tell you, now im not saying farm animals are meant to be eaten or treated badly, but pets are a WHOLE different thing. Your pet will LOVE you even if you treat them harsh. Honestly, farm animals dont have the love for humans like pets. SO TO ABUSE YOUR PET? Thats a whole different level. So go to hell, karen.
I told this one girl “you should clean your fish tank” and every one just replied with: ❄️
I’m sorry I know basic animal care.
the fact that those people have enough brain cells to type that, but not enough to comprehend and/or listen why that's valuable advice is completely baffling.
So annoying when people feel convicted of something, rather than suck up their pride and at least think about it... they'd prefer to just make fun of who's confronting them.
That's why you encounter sooo many toxic adults. Pride is more important than good change and growth to asshole types.
H. A. This is so true.
No one is more deserving of the snowflake title than people who are offended by people saying they take bad care of their animals
I rather get advice from somebody than let my animals suffer because of my pride, but I guess that's what they wanted to do-
When i was really little my older sister "won" the shittiest least healthy fish ever at a carnival
She loved that fish, his name was fishstick, my mom didnt expect fishstick to live very long, fishstick lived like... 15 years and grew to be well over a foot long he was a beautiful albino goldfish and had a beautiful ghostly tail when he got older, survived many moves, one day we had some nasty treatment resistant ick and well, the old fighter lost that fight. He had lived through ick before and both breakouts we couldnt find the source.
He went from the smallest fish id ever seen that looked to be on deaths door to a giant and ill miss that fish.
@Olive thanks i made it ^^
Thats amazing 👏👏
RIP fish stick
We’re not gonna talk about how his name is FISHSTICK? Lmao
Not yall naming him after his dead friends LMAOO
As an old person who doesn’t really get tiktok, a lot of this feels like that classic maladjusted kid in class who would take his rage out on animals. Back in my day, he threw pebbles at ducks and stepped on snails in front of a few friends, now he has an audience of thousands.
Gosh that's awful!
I can’t believe people think abusing fish and pets is funny it’s not okay.
The worst thing is, people abuse fish a lot cause they think they don't feel pain, so they think it's okay to abuse fish.

Even when I was 7, I took care of my pets alone and I never made stupid stuff like this. I had a hamster 8 years ago when I was 8, and I even knew to not do this stuff. I'm an actual animal lover (not like the girl who put her hamster in water), I know how to take care of them and I don't make mistakes, I cant believes how dumb people are these days.
I've been called a 'TikTok Vet' when commenting on Tiktok vids about animals and I'm like: "... well, I'm an actual veterinarian, so-"
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼proud of you!
Yeah, it's sad they use the names like that just because they think they're right
yeah it's so strange like how is "vet" even an insult-
@Amaya Takahashi ikr, but it can be really sad if you have to put down animals :(
I don't personally enjoy keeping fish as pets, from what I can tell they're a lot more work and money than I'd be willing to put into taking care of a fish, but watching those videos I actually started crying. How can anyone be so cruel to an animal. Those animals are doing nothing wrong and the way people treat them is terrible.
There’s a popular (phrase? Saying? I’m not sure) in fish keeping. “It’s expensive to get into the hobby but worth it if you end up loving it”. I see it a lot, and it’s definitely true.
Buying all new equipment for a Betta setup from even an average chain pet store costs $200CAD minimum where I am, but when getting into 10 gallons or more easily goes over $300CAD, especially if you buy a stand rather than a second hand piece of furniture or get into specialized aquarium shapes/plants/equipment setups. My 5 gallon Betta/zebra nerite setup cost about $120CAD including the fish, but that’s only because I made and/or thrifted a lot of the more expensive bits.
A 30 gallon tank brand new with a good stand at the nearest petsmart to me for example, can easily be over $800CAD. Then there’s the filter, the food, the heater, the substrate, the testing equipment, thermometer, decoration/hides, aeration, plants, and the fish. I can only imagine getting into the $2,000+ CAD range when a newbie fish owner that wants the best care for their fish buys all brand new chain store equipment and high quality breeder fish.
Honestly Facebook marketplace, kijiji, goodwill, and other second hand places are the best for non-porous second hand fish equipment. My rule is as long as I can clean it without substances bad for my fish, I’ll buy it second hand (ex: no sponges, but I’ll buy the filter itself and get a refill. Some rocks and driftwood are highly porous, but I’ll buy it since that can be boiled away with no added chemicals etc.)
My axolotl set up cost around $700 which included a tank, a stand for the tank and a whole bunch of equipment.

Why do people gotta be so abusive to animals?!?
And the worst part is I don’t this she dried it off so it could of have frozen to death

It's seriously so dumb that people know nothing about their pets. Hamsters are desert animals, which is why they're NOCTURNAL and have FUR. They don't 'bathe' in water, they clean themselves like a cat and take sand baths. The fact that you can literally learn this from a 2 minute google search is just astonishing. It really disappoints me seeing dumbasses do that kind of thing to their pets.

There was this girl in elementary school who told me she “put her goldfish into her moms pie and let it bake in the oven” because she was tired of taking care of it and wanted to scare her mom... And meanwhile her friend continuously put bleach in her goldfish’s tank for 6 months until it slowly died because she was scared of fish... Why get an animal if you are going to abuse it to death?...
Their parents wanted them to learn responsibility before getting puppies and kittens like they really wanted... But some people don’t deserve pets! I’ll never forget that conversation. It haunts me to this day.

@Kera chan yeah I feel like the bleach one is kinda sympathetic if she was legit scared (I mean killing it slowly is still v cruel but like the kid probably didn’t know shit lol), but the pie one who was just lazy and wanted to scare someone with their dead pet is a red flag, at least to me

Nah I’m good :l
I blame Pixar for normalizing flushing dead fishes down the toilet. I tried to do it when my first pet fish died because I’d just seen Finding Nemo and thought it was normal, but my dad yelled at me saying it was disrespectful so we buried it in our garden. Didn’t know it was bad for the environment, though.
Same :(
I don’t think Pixar were responsible for normalizing it. People had been flushing dead fish long before finding nemo
@@onewholovesvenison5335 I agree, it was definitely 'normalized' long before Pixar (at least here in the US), so I don't hold them responsible for either starting or normalizing the practice. Including in their movie certainly didn't _help,_ & I'm sure more critters than we care to imagine probably went surfing before their time, unfortunately.
Not everyone can afford to dig a hole in there yard,
That was considered normal long before Nemo. We didn't know any better either in the 90s either.
We should also collectively remember and realize that the dentist in Nemo is a VILLAIN! He's portrayed as relatively good-intentioned, but completely dilusional and unable to realize how bad his actions are.
One time while my dad was cleaning my fish’s tank, my fish accidentally got sucked into the cleaning tube and into the sink drain. Instead of just being like, “oh well, it’s just a fish, I’ll let it go down the sink,” he rescued him and he lived on for many more years. Moral of the story I guess is that fish deserve the same respect as dogs or any other animal. Don’t mistreat or neglect them.
My fish hand jumped out of his holding bowl while my mom cleaned his tank (I was like 6/7 and it was a very small tank sadly) and he was out of water for 30 mins. We thought he was dead (I was very sad) but we found him and put him back in and he was still alive. Some fucking how. He lived for another year tho
@@linkinlog8543 almost had a similar thing happen, I have a large, very strong Gold spot pleco, he gets put into a very large bucket while the tank is being cleaned because he doesn't like the siphon

Fish abuse is real folks. When I was 9ish my mum’s coworker bought a fighting fish as decoration. My mum saw the tiny bowl he was in and told her that it wasn’t healthy for him. The coworker was shocked, because she didn’t know that it was bad. My mum brought him home so he could have a better life in our much bigger fish tank at home. Birds are also commonly abused, I’ve seen people throwing things at them for fun, releasing them because “no animal deserves to be in a cage” and in one case they threw they’re clipped bird at their bulldog, which then grabbed the bird and ate it. I can excuse people not knowing seeds are bad for them since birds are commonly associated with seeds, but throwing your clipped and defenseless bird at a bulldog and then laughing as it screeched in pain since it was being eaten alive? Yeah man that’s seriously fucked up. I own two parakeets myself and I own a big dog too, and I *never* have them in the same room unless my birds are safe in the cage or my dogs on a leash, he’s a gentle giant but honestly I don’t trust him.
I hope that bulldog mauls their owner
Dricken Slayer I think that’s a bit too much, friend. No one should abuse animals but keeps your kicks in check.
Agreed! As someone with birds its horrible to see abuse to birds. Its mostly small birds like budgies and cockatiels that get thrown into a cage and ignored. Its awful
Yea they get abused so much. My parents bought two budgies some years ago, they had no idea that budgies aren't supposed to be in a cage forever and that they can actually be around the house just like dogs and cats and they didn't take me seriously when I told them because I was too young(I am 16 rn). The budgies are still alive but they are hard to be tamed because of their age and still scared of humans, I am trying to hand tame them and improve their shitty seed-only diet but I doubt if my parents will ever let me have them walking and flying free around the house at least for some hours a day or even a week so I just feel sad about them everytime I walk near their cage and even more sad everytime I realize most adult parrot owners I know are as uneducated as my parents. :(
I think releasing birds is amazing, i think all animals should be able to go outside and do what they want but like, at least try teaching em how to eat and survive outside? Bc if they dont know it, they'll die. I had a bird and i remember she ate a lot of seeds when i take her outside, which could be her source of food if she needed it. Sadly someday she just flew away from home, and never came back. I hope she survived...
with the pearls and axlotles, thats actually an abusive way of getting the pearl, if done right the clam doesn't have to die and can make more pearls so its just wasteful killing it like that
it definitely looked abusive and i don't even know anything about or own clams
I just fact checked this and yep, it's true. Pearl farmers are careful not to harm the animal. Apparently not only does it produce more pearls, but better ones as the animal ages.
As me having parents who clam farm in the last 2 yeas and half weve had one clam die to a sickness so yep
Thank God there is someone else pointing it out. Clams are living animals too!
Exactly! OMG HOW I GET SO MAD AT THE HUMAN RACE AND JUST WANT IT TO DIE AND GO TO HELL
I feel like the people who are like "I'm an animal lover" and then blatantly abuse their animals were inspired from the lady who said "Turtle saving is a hobby." And then yeeted a tortoise 20ft into a pond.
Okay, but the incident with the woman and the tortoise was accidental from what I heard at least. She said that she didnt know it was a tortoise and stated also that the tortoise managed to get out the water.
@@grandartist8923 Um. You shouldn't be throwing ANYTHING 20 feet. Doesn't matter whether it's a turtle or a tortoise. Throwing/dropping them is actually one of the most efficient methods of killing them and breaking their shells used by their natural predators in the wild. Their shells are strong, but only about as strong as a bone, and bones can and do break when that much force is applied to them.

It’s a serious problem that you can no longer voice your own opinion without masses of people telling you you’re wrong. This isn’t an opinion though, so it doesn’t make sense to me that someone would get called names for just looking out for these poor animals. These people don’t do their research.
See I can see it with fish and etc, but I don't see that with horses and cows. Most people that say someone is abusing their horses or cows don't know anything about the animals and make false claims. Someone said I was abusing my horse when we had her dental stuff done which she needed because her teeth had become hooked. Which is why people don't take them seriously..

When people set their animals "free" outside it's basically the same as dropping your 3 year old off and leaving them there, they both don't know how to survive outside.
That’s how you start a invasive population of 3 year olds

The 3 year olds are everywhere. I can't get out of my house, they're breaking down my door, I won't survive long.
That or they overpopulate and kill everyone. So more like dropping a KKK member off at the park and someone else also happened to drop Hitler off and now they’re making more white supremacists and killing everything in sight. That or they both die. Hopefully the second option, but unfortunately that’s not always the case with released pets IE Florida.
I once released a pet rabbit, didn't know this at all
Feel terrible up till this day.
Information like this needs to get out, because there are a lot of harmful myths out there!
My poor rabbit probably died.
Wish I could turn back the clock😭
Not released because I wanted to 'set it free'.
But we were evicted and I was raised with the idea you can just release rabbits and they'd be fine.
So we were in a dire situation, and I genuinly thought I was doing right for the rabbit.
It had lived in a big garden, free to dig and run.
But releasing it in the wild is quite something else, I only learned was a death sentence a few years later, when I, ironically, saved 2 dumped rabbits in mid winter.
Research on how to take care of those specific rabbits, taught me I did a lot of things wrong groing up and the worst was the release instead of rehoming.
Will always haunt me (and that's okay, I don't want to forget, I want to remember my mistakes and never make them again)

The axolotl trend is a huge issue because they’re such sensitive aquatic creatures and they shouldn’t be mishandled much less impulse bought because of tik tok.
Especially with how dangerous their case of endangerment is getting.
Amara Berry the pet axolotls are kinda like a separate species from the wild, pet axies have been bred kinda like dogs

Somewhat off topic, I know she said Axolotls can only be found in Mexico but I went camping about 2 summers ago in the mountains in Colorado, and there was a good sized pond by my tent, and there were tons of black and yellowish axolotls in it, not sure how deep the pond went, it was somewhat murky but early in the morning they’d come up to the surface and make little bubbles and swim around then disappear to the bottom. But I’m 100% sure they were axolotls, none were pink, so I don’t believe they were introduced to the pond, especially with where we were. But they were adorable, and so fun to watch! After seeing them and seeing how people treat them in videos ? (Even if they’re not the wild species but the bred ones) makes my heart hurt so much. ;( It’s just like “all kids deserve parents but some parents don’t deserve kids.” And it’s just like, what’s the point in having these animals if you don’t take proper care of them!? At that point it’s become a chore to you and a financial burden when you’re not even enjoying it or having the animal enjoy themselves. Animals aren’t things, they’re living breathing creatures that deserve happiness just like humans, and with how short some animals lifespans are? Why give them a life of stress & pain when you could give them something that makes a difference in their existence?

I rescued my crabs because they were in an extremely bad environment. I own four hermit crabs, and I run a channel for them. Hermit crabs are so mistreated. There is so much to go into I would be writing a Declaration of Independence.
Oh my god, yes! People don't understand hermit crabs at all and I hate it!
When I was a kid the pet store employee told my mum we could keep 2 hermits in a 5 gallon! Luckily we didn't buy them 😅
ArtemisTrip omg!! These employees be t r i p p i n g!!!!! 2 hermit in a five gallon!!??? You cant even have one hermit in a 5, except that shouldn’t happen, because hermit crab should be in pairs or large groups!!! 5 to 20 gallons per crab is ok, and must have two crabs at least. Which makes it if you are going for a 10 gal with two crabs is the smallest u can go!!
i used to own many hermit crabs and looking back at it i feel bad for them as i was only 8 forced to take care of them myself.. never knew how much work they were
Yes my favorite animal preach Namjoon will be so proud of you!
Why don't people understand animals can feel things. They live like humans.
The only difference being they can’t form words
not really tbh humans are more important but you're right! :D
s0ftie what makes us so much more important? Yes we may be the superior species but that doesn’t mean we’re better...

As a person who has done loads of research on fish I want to work at the Petco near my house (as a part time job when I can actually get a job), to try and avoid letting people buy bowls and generaly small tanks...
As an axolotl owner and preparing to become a breeder, I'm absolutely disgusted with the abuse. There's just so much wrong with those tik toks
Yeah-
Axolotls are baby btw
How do you feel abt firefly axolotles?
@@frenchtoastgacha2237 that's actually a really good question that I've been meaning to make a video about. In short, I don't mind it as long as it's humanely done. If you're more interested in the history or why I feel the way I do, I can shoot you a video line when I make it if you want. I used to be the person who thought it was absolutely disturbing until I did the research on them myself and it changed my views
@@c0zmozys they are baby. I would jump into a burning house to save my axolotls

The recent popularity of frogs has made for some really terrible content on tiktok where people just decided to take them everywhere and manhandle them :(
I dont even get why people have to take these pets everywhere. If you wamt to take your pet somewhere and cuddle it and all, get a dog! Not a frog.
Or the poor ducklings. People just like the cute little fluffy baby. But they don't even know how to take proper care of them. I saw a tik tok where a girl just took an egg of a duck and said it was abounded. Like how does she know that🙄🙄
The oils in our hands are bad for their skin... also handling them with cloth gloves
When we cleared out our pond( we were still small and our parents didn't want us to fall in) we put all the frog eggs and put them in a big water tank so they can hatch safely and it was so satisfying seeing them grow up
yeah they think they are so cute and they only get them for that reason like yeah sure they are cute but that shouldnt be the only reason thats basically impulse buying you have to actually care for them and not just use them for viewers its super stressful to the frogs when people force them to wear stuff or keep them in super small tanks
The hamster one is terrible, don't ever do this to any rodents. Being put in water is very stressful for them and can even cause them to have a heart attack. Only put them in 2cm deep water and only if they're very dirty. Dirt can be scraped away with your hands or a damp towel so only give them a bath if they're very dirty.
Edit: Bathe hamsters in sand (not chinchilla sand, that's dust and too fine for hamsters)
Thank you! I’m here to spread some info about bathing your hamster. I, sadly, actually impulse bought the hamsters that I have now, and I even had one of those horrible small store cages. Now, I have a large bin cage, which my hamster currently lives in. So, about bathing hamsters. No, your hamster will not drop dead if it touches a drop of moisture, but it is harmful to your hamster, and it should never be done normally. Hamsters have natural oils on their pelts, and bathing them in water washes those off, and can harm your hamster. The oils protect hamsters from different things. Bathe hamster in sand. Seriously, go buy a pound of play sand from the hardware store (please make sure it is safe first) and you’re good to go. Also, don’t bathe your hamster in chinchilla sand. Chinchilla sand is actually dust, (chinchillas bathe in dust) and if your hamster inhales it, it could harm their respiratory system. The ONLY times you are allowed to clean your hamster with water, is either if your hamster is extremely dirty (In that case, try to get off the dirt with a dry cloth first, if it doesn’t work, use a DAMP cloth) or if your hamster has a wound which needs to be regularly rinsed to prevent infection, (which in that case, call a vet which can specialize in rodents).
FWIW, rats can and will swim if given the opportunity. They are Rattus norvegicus after all, and thus excellent swimmers. Obviously don't force them into water, but offering them some (supervised) swimming time is completely fine. When I had my mischief 6 of my 8 girls would jump into a storage container filled with 3 inches of water. My girls were however all introduced to water as babies, and the older girls would teach the little ones that the water was safe. Absolutely amazing animals.
WhattaDay Thank you for telling me that! Obviously, I’m not an expert on rats, but still, it’s always best to do your research before doing things like that :D
@@HorsesIC makes me want to have a pet rat-
@@ariannahicks1375 Rats are super fun! I only had females though because I could absolutely NOT handle male rat stank. My mischief was allowed floor time to explore, a lot like ferrets. They're really more like little dogs, and well-bred ones LOVE human attention.
This doesn't deserve 1.2k dislikes.
Yeah that's true, I'm glad you are talking about this because it upsets me when someone just does this to a pet for views.
