Nice to see many people still play this game after all these years, I just got the triple pack on Xbox one and am currently doing my first playthrough of off the record, I played it before but never actually owned it and just rented it.
I'm replaying DR2 at the moment myself, I bought the Triple Pack with a good sale. I never played DR1 so It was a fun experience (besides the dumb AI and that damn 7-day survivor... luckily got that on my first actual try).
Honestly this is one of my most enjoyed watches along with the first deadrising all survivors video. Thank you for making these and your voice is nice. :]

True, back then when this was released you couldnt really find guide for this, so you had to either consult on game forums or make your own strategies that could stretch for months, on some hiatus even a year.

Dead rising videos started popping up and do I bought dr2 on steam. I remember the game seemed too complicated when I originally played on xbox. This guide helped a lot even though I didn't follow it completely.

The trick to taming Snowflake is that you need to be well the hell away from that Steak before she'll eat it. If you're too close, she'll go for you instead.
Something you didn't mention about Brandon. *Do not shoot him.* If you shoot him, he will flip out and jump you, which does an obscene amount of damage. Like zoinks, Scoob, better not take a gun to a knife fight!

"With the exception of one.". Maybe a little misleading to have Dean in the B-roll since he's not the one.
It helps with Randy to bring a gun. Shoot him in the piggy after he hits you and he'll slump over for free hits.
It doesn't fly in OTR unless you have Quickstep, but I find a better way to deal with the Twins is to grab an LMG or two (there being two in Yucatan lets you get a pair even though the game won't spawn them if you already have one), then just backpedal and shoot. Maybe it's not as effective with non-max speed? I don't remember. In OTR they're faster so they can get you while you're backpedaling. This also would've been a good time to mention the Drinking magazine in Atlantica on the squid ceiling decoration (you get on it by using the spot that Tammy's at), since all the healing items at Shoal Nightclub are booze.
There is an alley entrance from the outdoors area to the Palisades through Hot Excitorama, so in some cases that can be faster to get to Palisade than going through Yucatan or Atlantica..
For High Rollers, I would actually suggest doing nothing but going All In at the start. That's horrible for real poker, but you can time travel if you lose, so just do it until one or more of them calls you on it. If it fails, reload, and if it succeeds, then you'll have a huge cash advantage on whoever's left, easing it on you.
A safer way to deal with the Milita Men is to take guns to them. Two LMGs and the Six Shooter if you can get them. The trick is to roll toward them and get in their face to bait them to take their knife out, then start backpedaling and shooting them while they chase you. They will eventually stop (maybe if you keep close enough distance they won't? I don't know) and pull their gun out again. At that point, just repeat again. Close in to bait the melee, then backpedal and shoot.
Note that bigger items deal more damage to the helicopter. So a military case will be better than a spotlight, but more awkward to handle.
For Ante Up, same deal as High Rollers. All In until someone calls you, then reload if you botch (even though one All In won't necessarily take you out, you don't want them to have that kind of lead on you), and start playing normally if you win. Something important to note is that each piece of clothing you take off your opponents stays off even if you drop out of the game, so you can save each time you take a piece off of somebody if you really want to be thorough. Also important to note is that while if their money was lower that $25,000 it'll bounce up, if it was higher then *it will stay as high as it was.* This is why it's important to not let anyone take a lead on you in the first place. You don't pay any money for a buy in (I guess the $25,000 are just poker chips they had laying around), so you can come and go from the game as you please until they all fall down.
"You won't need to help the survivors here, they're pretty safe." God I wish that was true in OTR.
"Set your marker to TK is infected.". But the game doesn't even point to him.
Nevermind that Sullivan can basically "Toasty!" you and knock you down to the bare ass of one block of health. As for dealing with him, I kind of found the Knife Gloves to be useless. Just grab Hand-to-Hand from that bookstore in Royal Flush (same one with Gambling 1, whatever it was called), and use the drop kick on him. Even if you whiff, you'll be reasonably protected. Failing that, grab a bunch of food and the two LMGs, then just stand on the platform that goes up to him, and shoot him. A lot. Trade shots, and drop to heal when you gotta. That can eventually grind him down too.
"Buy the expensive champagne". No, you just kind of take it.

For the helicopter when tk is trying to get away, u should always bring the toy spitball gun, since it counts as a projectile
By the way, the gambling magazines actually _do_ affect poker. If you have all three, the game will massively be in your favor.

when i play this game the first time it came out i have to reset it 3 times because i failed whit some psycopats and loses some case for the time and i didnt save the file and this dude made it look soo easy, my god, if only this guide came in those early years it so good to see, nice video man.

I just finished a run using this guide and during the TK battle at the end, he got me in the charging attack but he couldn't hit Chuck against the wall because some boxes were in the way.
Not only that, but TK glitched to outside the arena (somewhat) to where he couldn't follow me around but we were still able to trade blows. Made it easier to heal up since I didn't go into the fight using Pain Killer or Quick Step
Heh, now only if we could get the Terror is Reality playerbase back to get that platinum trophy

Fantastic guide as always. Thank you very much. The only thing I could add is that if anyone is having issues with Sullivan you can pick up a LMG in that same casino. If you plan ahead you can keep two of the machine guns from the secret lab. With the LMG and two Merc Assault Rifles I was able to kill him with 15 bullets left in the LMG. It was by far faster then hand to hand combat because for whatever reason each time he kicked me off the platform I fell into a damn hole and had to walk back up two flights of stairs.

Perfect walkthrough! Just a tip for anyone reading this: if you bought the Remastered version of this game, you get access to DLC outfits from the start. These give you some extra moves with some weapons. The most useful one is the Sport Fan one: just like in Off the Record, equipping it will make you run faster (I believe you can also drink as much alcohol as you want without getting sick). Unlike Off the Record though, you get the full perks from the outfits even if you just wear one piece, so you can mix and match all 4 DLC outfits to get Ultimate Chuck lol. Also, as a side note, I should worn you there's a jumpscare at the very end of the last cutscene after defeating TK in case you didn't know/ don't remember. Thanks a ton!
i just bought this off the PSN store for 6 bucks n been playin n replayin for the past couple days. this vid is hella helpful for that 2nd/3rd playthru, im glad i found it after i beat the game off hazy memory from playin at a friends house first.
also the driller weapon (power drill with spear combo) is suuuuuper good against bosses n u can get it in the maintenance closet in the RF plaza next to the restrooms, next to the safehouse

Thank you for making this guide. Even after playing through the game multiple times, I’m still learning some new unlisted cases and strategies.
BTW, if you’re a viewer still having trouble despite all this advice, equip a clothing item in the Sports Fan pack using the locker in the safe house’s bathroom (should you have it; PS4 and XB1 players should have it as part of the game IIRC). It should increase movement speed, boost healing, make you immune to being sick from drinking, and boost sports weapons. Very helpful if you need a boost or didn’t luck out with level up upgrades.

One strat I use for Crystal and Amber is to collect the M60 in the middle of the casino and then picking on to aim at. You can take them down rather fast with it.

Just a note for the Slappy fight since I don't really know how to comment this anywhere else, he can be dealt with by using a water gun on him instead of having to do the drop kick AI manipulation. Spraying him with water causes him to freak out for long enough to get a good 3/4 swipes in with knife gloves before he does a counterattack. It's easier for newer players to pull off since there's a water gun in the store right behind the trigger for the fight.

For higher level players skateboards cut the times of some sections a lot leaving you with a lot of free time, also I thought you should’ve mentioned that if you have a sniper you can stand on the fountain and Leon will never kill you, quite a lot safer. But this guide actually showed me things I’d never seen before like the zombrex after case 2-2. So overall excellent guide :)

A lot of the map is actually quite similar like the palisades mall and some stores in the royal flush plaza are the same too
