What dreams needed was definitely multiplayer, and also as you said a decent game made by Mm within it. Tren was a huge hit in the dreams community, and still gets plays to this day. What they needed to do for dreams’ advertising is showcase a dream as if it were its own game, and THEN at they end they say “you can play this in dreams.” The closest it had to a campaign is art’s dream but it’s not even in any of the advertising (from what I know)
They wasted an entire console generation on 1 game and it flopped horribly. Almost concord numbers bad. Its a shock they didnt get shutdown after that. They need to bring little big planet back in a big way to be a viable studio again. Just make a definitive little big planet sequel on pc and ps with crossplay and live service support. They’ll make enough income to support future projects for years to come
If they publish a LBP4 with LB1,2 and 3 levels and 3D of Sackboy adventure or the 3D of "restitched" and convined with some Super Mario 3D world style and enemy and power mechanic, I'm sure it will have a lot of sells.
It really is a shame what happened with Dreams. Some people made incredible games with it (especially some of the VR stuff!), but it needed to have an Mm game at the core of its identity like LBP did. Also the learning curve was too steep. They probably could've smoothed that out substantially if they gamified learning the tools (like made a campaign where you had to solve puzzles by using the creation tools). Whatever their new game is, hopefully it carries on the charm that they've brought to their past projects, and has a compelling game at its core, with user generated options beyond that.
This. While the tutorials are alright, I did play some of them and wondered how the hell new players would figure some things out (I’m a veteran so I have no issue but I understand the flaws it would have for new players.) there’s also a lack of tutorial for every single gadget and feature. They should’ve had something akin to LBP3’s popit puzzles.
@@AuriPlayzz You are wrong on every single part of this comment lol. 1. Media Molecule have never produced LBP, Sony do 2. Media Molecule have never owned LBP, Sony do 3. Sumo do not own LBP, Sony do Media Molecule is a development team owned by Sony, if Sony wants them to make a new LBP then they will
There's no evidence that LBP 4 would be a big hit. They've been working on user generated content almost a decade I believe, there tired & worn out of that.
It only survived because at the time things were limited and it’s been around long enough to build up a fan base. And when you take a look at UGC games of the modern era? Roblox, Rec Room, ect…all multiplayer games. Dreams is singleplayer which just doesn’t suit the modern community of gaming. People want to sit down and have a laugh together. They could make dreams their last game and yet succeed if they pulled the right strings. Add multiplayer like Roblox; not 4 players. Servers with tons of players. Proper customisation and DLCs for the imps. Bring back the impy’s.

If this new project does not succeed the whole company will shut down.

I'm so excited for Sackboy a Bigger Adventure

If Media Molecule never makes a new LBP they should bring Tarsier Studios back, since LBP Vita was so great!
They produced a lot of the LBP 2 and 3 DLC too and those turned out great
its prob gonna fail if no lbp4
Hopefully LBP.
Already confirmed not to be. In fact whatever they're working on will have no UGC at all.
@@Switchell2 then it's probably gonna sell like crap
@@Switchell2then they shut down for good
@@Switchell2its so over
Its sad that lbp is the only thing people want from them
They can’t even produce another lbp, they don’t own it anymore. Sumo do.
@@AuriPlayzz sumo dosent even have the rights anymore

Make lbp for PC , remastered versions and then you generate new sales .
