    FOR THOSE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE STOCK FLASHER UNIT... Mine was a bit of a bitch to get out because I didn't know that there's a lock tab on it. The tab is unfortunately facing the opposite side you can physically see (toward the engine). Because the tab is not facing you, you can't easily tell it even has one and it's hard to feel it with your fingers. I ended up just pulling so friggen hard that the lock tab "just let go". Oddly, the new LED flasher I installed had no lock tab whatsoever, so it should just pop out easily when it needs replacing (like every other car I ever owned). Hope this helps you to not struggle.

      Hey dude, if you happen to see this and remember, can you describe the lock tab any more? Like if you could tell if I should push/pull/etc and really specifically where it is on the relay since we can't see that side.

    I know this is an older video at this point, but what do I do if my flasher is stuck? It's the same exact flasher you have, no clips or anything holding it down, and it won't come out. I've tried going for broke and clamping a pair of channel locks on it and trying to pry it out. The relays around it were very stuck in when I first removed them as well but a good tug with the channel locks popped them out. I've been tuggin on my flasher off and on for three days and still it won't budge. Does anyone have any ideas?

    2001 e11 Corolla... hazards will not stop flashing I have found the relay under the kick panel right night side of accelerator. Will not budge. There are three pin like areas I have pushed them all no release. Very difficult area to access have tried good force. Still no release. Very frustrating.

    Peter, I'm about to change over to an electonic flasher unit to handle LED bulbs in my Camry, so I want to ask if you're sure the flasher unit is in this same area on a 1999 Camry? My Haynes repair manual sort of says it's behind the gauge cluster. I'm old, so I don't want to be upside down on the floor for a long time to find out it's not there.

You think it will damage the relay?

    I have a problem with my 96 corolla dx, i press my brake and my left blinker goes on and stays solid, this happens anytime i press the brake, and it doesnt matter if the blinkers are on or not, my right blinker still functions normally even when braking, but my left blinker only functions properly when not touching the brake pedal. When it goes on solid the sound also stops ticking if i am making a left turn. I think maybe something inside this relay could be the issue but im not sure, im going to try replacing it as soon as i can, ive also heard people say it could have something to do with the trailer wiring as all my fuses seem to be fine.. I will be checking that aswell. If anybody has ever had this problem or has any advice or feedback i appreciate it, and if i end up figuring it out i will leave a comment saying what the problem was and how i fixed it thank you all.. Also i may end up checking all blinker wiring, brake wireing, really and lighting wiring , connections, and fuses.

Im thinking its the wiring but im not sure where its making contact i checked with a volt meter and it did prove that my left blinker and brake pedal both affect one another somehow in the wiring..

      @@slay_dad have you taken a multimeter or test light to the wiring harness that plugs in from the trunk to the tail light? You may find where the brake lead is grounding into the turn signal. Auto parts stores sell that harness made by dorman for 25$

    • @fernandoportes7184
      @fernandoportes7184 7 лет назад

      hi peter, thanks for the reply. i found the source of the problem and it was not the relay. it might useful to Geo Prizm 95 owners (and maybe related Geos or Corollas). i had read in this or in another posting that a guy had solved a turn signal problem of his Geo 95 by welding a loose wire to the hazard light switch. i noticed that my hazard light switch was defective and not working consistently. so, when i pushed it in certain position, eureka!!! the turn lights worked again and it is back working. i am replacing the defective hazard light switch. almost sure that the turn lights are hardwired to the hazard light switch so that if the later is turn on, the turn lights do not work.
