I'm a new healer, just level 37 and running randoms to level. My main in a tank so switching to a healer is kind of ..... interesting ... and this video just made things much more clear. Thanks!

I know its been a while but the reason people hate her is because some controversy about blizzard many years ago and she was trying to defend blizzard when everyone else was pissed at them. At this point i am not sure what was it. Ether Cata release or some other thing. I just remember her to get in the controversy and to never hear from her ever again after that.

I agree with the DP. The heals you use on others can be used on yourself, not to mention you have tons of instant heals anyway.
im glad tankspot is posting vids up for priest and how to properly spec in a certain spec... i dont see why people have to complain and be all like "if you need this guide you fail." roll a PRIEST and try to heal not a pally, shaman, or druid... but roll a priest it is difficult considering the class has different attributes to healing. I run a disc priest now cuz on my server they require them more in a raid and her guide to disc priest helps so quit hating :P
This serves more as an epic 10 minute moment, then a lesson for me lol. The way she says it, its damn epic!

Thank you very much for this. I'm working on a couple of priests to be holy priests for future raids. I'm mainly a fan of renew, so hearing advice on what to use relating to that helps me out greatly.

That's a unique accent. Sometimes sounds German, sometimes sounds Southern, sometimes sounds Canadian. As a linguist, I'd love to know what mix of factors produced such a way of speaking.

PROM isnt a smart heal , it will jump to a random person within range not lowest.
@MrKillortryto I'll make a new one in Cataclysm. Renew beats out flash heal by far, so not many people bother much with emp. healing anymore. Leftover points... sure. Body and Soul is pretty essential for hard mode Halion. I think my GS is 6450, but GS is useless.

I avoid skilling Desperate Prayer, because my opinion is,
if i have the time, pushing this button, something else out of my spells can also save me.
But i guess, once you are used to it, it's heavy to don't specc it. :)

It depends on the level of content you raid! Precisely what I tried to convey.
Only if the ticks are all used, it is very cost effective. However as long as there are more than one raid healer, it usually doesnt get to tick more than two or three times.
I hope Aliena will do one of the episodes in "The weekly marmoth" ( A new Tankspot thing) so we can see her :D
Up to now i felt i'm a good holy priest, keeping the group up, and dodging shamans and druids,
and even after watching this, i still feel pleased with myself.
I have to admit, somehow i'm not a huge fan of the pure MP5 Stat and i tried to avoid the sp/int gem with the spirit/int gem.
It sounds very reasonable, thinking about the shadowfiend and the Hymn.
Also i mentioned one thing about myself while healing, i'm very ... unsteady in my way of healing.
I can't tell if i use Renew or the Prayers~
@monstavaii They've changed PoH so it affects the person and the group you're currently targeting. So if you wanna heal your group you target yourself or another person in your group.

Cloth wearers usually have tailoring. If you have expendable income, you can go enchanting (the most common secondary) or alchemy. If you find yourself short of cash, then pick a gathering profession, like herbalism or mining (I have tailoring/mining on my mage).
earth shield is pretty equal to prayer of mending isn't it? it just doesn't bounce, which in some respects is better
Wrong, and wrong. The glyph adds a healing over time effect, and PoH is only party based, no matter how you slice it.
She sounds like a flight attendant...in a good way nice video by the way.
I think she ment the bouncing part, as druids also have seeds that have the same effect, healing the target for 30% of the druids crit heal the next time said target takes damage.

God dammit now lookin at this guide i notice how stupid my spec is. i barely use greater heal but i got divine fury for some reason, didnt get desperate prayer and onli 1 point into holy reach and my spec is supposed to be for raid healer lol. ty for putting this up Tankspot and ty for explaining it Aliena. Helped me a lot at noticing my spec is bad lol.
Yea, but people who wanna know what the new spells do/will do. This helps. Not to mention the fact that I've noticed many idiots. Like paladins who dps with Righteous Fury on, not realizing that it just increases threat.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Top heals"... Sure as a clothie you will go down fast, especially when attacked by a rogue.
I only stack haste on my priest. Haste and only haste. Every other stat comes anyway, but haste, for me, is what matters the most. Plus, I do not use PW:S that much.
Its not talented in anyway (uses a lot of mana and is inefficient anyway). The only reason I use it is the speed boost. I can run out of combat and "fight another day" (10 seconds later)

greater heal should be on num2 or3 cause with ur spec after casting 3 flash heals you get it only in 1.5 cast

not only is this video very informative, but I think anyone specced HOLY should ditch the spellpower and go entirely for crit when possible. SP is nice, but if you are grouped with people lacking patience...the extra mana from stacking INT + the bonus crit modifier works well. but with fools, you OOM a lot trying to be the savior. in that case, rush in like a tank...steal their aggro and go SoR (spirit of redemption) then renew everyone first. flash who needs a quickie boost.
Actually you are ENTIRELY wrong. A good holy priest will use PW Shield. I don't think you have raided ToGC or have over 3k+ healing so I'm sure you wouldn't know. On my priest in ToGC when 2 healing it. PW: S makes a great damage reduction on tanks when they are getting impaled by Gormoks debuff. It is purely situational when playing as Holy but it is a great spell when you throw on a renew that ticks for 2.5k +
Inspiration doesn't stack with ancestral fortitude etc. I think
i disagree i roll a holy Priest and with the glyph for pwS have found it a great tool to use in my spell rotation ya there is some mana cost but with the rt gear chioces and that means spirit gear as opposed to +mp5 gear that is not an issue i find that unless i am intentionally O H'ing i dont have any issues with going /OOM and actually find it prevents me from having to use more FH's and GH's as well.

Like disc talents. Am I the only one who has a talent in the "less manacostly instants" talent in the disc tree while playing holy? (Mental Agility its called)
4% less mana for instants. Think about it, we have Renew, Holy Nova, CoH, PoM, DP for some and probably Guardian Spirit too, that all benefit from it and these spells are used all the time! I think that is essential.

lvld as ret since it was faster imo, but eventualy played prot at lvl70 and when lvling from 70-80 after wotlk release went ret again, not prot again xD
but imo lvling as prot is a pain since the mobs in outland and other zones were all just too far away from each other :(

prot pally.. all you do is hit avenger shield sacred sheild concecration or however you spell it then use hammer or righteness and then shield then repeat..
Holy paladin guide: Pull tons of mobs, bubble, HS out.
in feb when i get my laptop im going back 2 WoW and ima make a priest and gonna speak holy then ima transfer my lvl 80 hunter and give my priest 2kg then when my priest hits 40 ima duel spec holy and MAYBE desc depending which of the last 2 specs r better

I'm a lvl 70 disc priest ATM, I'm just doing randoms to lvl and idk if I should go holy, I tried it at 60 and I ran out of mana extremely fast. Can someone give me some advice please
Disc is the best.
sorry but earth shield is like equal to that circle of mending. and base heal is 1k which sucks maybe like 2-3k with spellpower

no cuz with the prayer u heal 2 ppl and with earthshield only 1, but u can't rlly compare shamans with priests cuz they have totally different mechanics as healers ;)

Slight improvement you can make regardless of playstyle is putting 1 point into holy concentration because you really dont need 130% pushback resistance do you?
