Hey good point! I forgot about that. It's been a wile since I played lol. I believe in the Voyager cards there was a holographic transmitter that allows such actions but it wasn't in the original deck. 😎👍
The Game was a lot simpler on the first version LOL towards the end it became almost impossible for me to play . I didn't learn all of the new rules and regulations
Dude, you will not be disappointed. I have limmated knolege of card games. And by my channel you know im biased but this is the best card game in history. If you build a deck and take it to a con im sure you will find tones of people. Who will want to play. Have a great night!
There is a symbol next to the name of the Personnel or equipment or ship card. I believe it refers to being generic. Like the USS Excelsior, you can have an entire fleet of that one card. However you can only have one Captain Picard, but you can have a ship c r u w e d, by the same guy if he's a generic card. When we first started playing, the only Federation ships I could get was the Miranda and the excelsior. So my entire fleet was comprised of both ships. I got Riker early on, so he was always the captain of one of those ships.😎👍
I watched the whole video and it really really helped me ! Im soon buying a booster box off of some random site i found so yea i really love it and my buddy likes it too so we can play together ! Thanks and i think this CCG is amazing !
Thank you very much! My friends and I enjoyed this game in High school, and now I am teaching my son how to play. He likes Romulan, he has much to learn lol. If you decide to collect the hole set, you can buy each card you need on ebay for very cheap, sometimes just a dollar. Picard use to be one of the rarest cards, and I remember it was at least 25$ at the card store. It took many packs but I got my first one in a pack, it may have been cheaper to have bought it, but where's the fun in that. Have a great day and enjoy the game!
This helped me get back into the game. Thanks! I just started opening stuff because it's so cheap and enjoyable to open. I've posted a few videos of some openings if anyone is interested in the nostalgia fix.
Hey I'm glad I could help it's such a fun game to get into I've been teaching my kids how to play. If you compare the price they were in 1994 to the price they are now... I cannot believe how much money I spent on this game. If you collected back in the day it was something like 299 or 350 a pack now it's $20 a box
Yeah I know it's amazing! This happened to Decipher's other game, Star Wars CCG about 10 years ago (that game stopped printing in 2002). You could get Reflections boxes for $20 for a while. Now they are hundreds though and many of the other sets that were also $10-20 are up to a few hundred. So I think a lot of the Star Trek CCG sets that are really cheap right now will climb back up because people still play and there is a huge amount of nostalgia with this game, even for people that never played and of course it's not being printed anymore. A lot of people that liked the game and played it when they were kids couldn't afford to buy a lot of it and are now adults with decent paychecks, and they want a hit of nostalgia. So I'm picking up as many as I can now lol. I regret not buying more SWCCG when it was cheap. Some sets are already as high as $600 for a booster box (low print runs!) But there's still PLENTY of sets that only cost $10. You have Premiere Unlimited ($10) - Q Continuum ($10) - Alternate Universe ($10) - Rules of Acquisition ($8) - Trouble with Tribbles ($8) - Mirror Mirror ($8) - 2nd Edition ($40) - Voyager ($30) - The Borg ($35) - To Boldly Go (based on Star Trek Enterprise the show) ($35) - Strange New Worlds ($35) and Reflections 1 ($60-65) which is a HUGE amount of fun to open because you can get stuff from so many different sets. There are a good 10 sets though that are $150+ unfortunately. But hey, plenty of cheap sets to go around ! So fun!
I just stumbled across my old set of these (both white and black border) and was clueless of where to start, and was rather put off by the tiny 100 page rulebook that I still had. LOL Thanks for the video! It really ironed things out, and brought back some memories.
IS that the little white rule book that came with the "Starter box?" I have some of those . I remember when my friends and I started playing that was the only thing we had to know how to play, and it was good, but we still had questions. It was really bad when one player had a difference of opinion from another, and no where to go to see who was right. lol Good times. I have had fun teaching my son how to play, he likes the Romanians ;) I could make a video of game play if it would help? Have a great day ! Thanks for watching !
That's the one! I've gotten too old for small print like that. It's just hard to read without an magnifying glass. LOL A gameplay vid would be stellar, I was thinking of hacking out a couple of games with my wife, then offering it up on family gamenight this weekend. I all complete sets of all the commons, uncommons, and rares for both the white and black borders. that should be enough cards for everyone to make a deck.
Started play this game at a friend's house . it pretty fun. Still not 100% on the rules but it's Still a blast to play. This video help me out a lot with how game play.
You placed a planet dilemma under a space mission which you cant do or rather shouldnt do. I agree with you though depends on how flexible you want to make the rules. Thanks for sharing.
Hey good eye I didn't notice that. You are correct Planet dilemmas go under planets, space dilemmas go under space, and I believe there's a dilemma that can go under either. If you're looking for a really long game play with dilemmas. We enjoyed the keep the game fast paced, so most of the time we didn't use dilemmas at all. This also gives you more room in your hand for more personnel and ships. You are most welcome.
A couple of minor points: *Non-aligned personnel actually can't attempt any mission, you have to have at least one member of your away team/crew that matches the affiliation on the mission card. They can mix with all affiliations the way you said though. *In a ship battle if the weapons attacking a ship is more than twice the defending ship shields the defender is destroyed, not just damaged. If it's more than their shields but not twice as much, it's damaged as you showed. *In a personnel battle, when the two personnel square off, the one with the lower strength is only stunned, not killed the way you showed in the video. They're only killed if they have less than half the strength of their opponent. Maybe you knew these things, and just changed them as some of your house rules you mentioned to speed up the game. Obviously house rules are totally fine (we have plenty of ourselves) but it would be nice if it were made clear to new players that that's a house rule, and not the default.
Thank you Oliver! Actually I played the house rules for so long I kind of forgot some of the original rules LOL. Thank you for your time clarifying the original rules! Have a great day!😎👍
I loved our house rules, we develop them over many games oh, they suited us. And we never played tournament so it didn't matter oh, and we couldn't get any of our other friends to play LOL😎👍
Last time I looked on eBay you could still get the original set and a few others in the Box , and build your own deck it was a really good price through. Not sure if it's still on there anymore. Back in the day it was $3 a pack and I believe they are selling boxes of 36 packs for twenty bucks. However that was a couple years ago when I last looked.😎👍
@@OmegaOrdained The original set plus a few others are in a decent price range but a lot of the expansions that I would be interested in purchasing are 300+ a box
Ok good, that's what it was before. I too wanted the later sets, but not at the price. The only way I could see getting some one to play against would be finding a comic book or gaming store and ask if they would be interested in holding a tournament. But with there business failing, and the restrictions I don't know if that is possible. Hey facebook has a big star trek ccg group, maybe someone there lives close to you?😎👍
Note! When playing i played by taking a turn and then adding 1 to 3 cards to turn this way you always have cards to use. ;) I did 1 card per turn to make it fun.
Very nice :) 1 card per turn, is fun, but slow. I like , what you said about having more, do you can have more fun per turn with more choices. Thank you for watching have a great day :)
I stack with 100 cards. Kind of goes longer but if you pull 1 card with each turn it goes faster. But you can do just about anything you want. I never followed the Comp rules. ;)
I always wanted to do a tournament, but they never held one in Chico :( That would be fun, and I may reconsider playing Federation lol, Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
Greetings Jason great question, I know for a fact that the Equipment cards are cumulative, so you can have as many as you draw. The objective card came out with the first contact set, I think you can only have one at a time but here are the rules from the set. As for the incident, sorry but I have no idea. We had a rule among my friends if we did not understand the rules or did not agree with them, we would agree on how to use them BEFORE the game, hope this helps! Have a great day! ruclips.net/video/6q4vIWQ3nmE/видео.html
There is an icon in black, you can see it for example on the type 6 shuttle the black diamond split into 4 quadrants . Any card with that icon you can have duplicates. No symbol, no dupe.
Yes officially it is a two player minimum game. However if you didn't look at the Dilemma cards, and stuck them under the planets and stars. I can see playing it solo. Because with your deck shuffled oh, you don't know what ship or Personnel you're going to get. There would be some challenge in that. That's a good idea! I never thought of that before.😎👍
Greetings, first off good question! Dilemmas are used in the preface of the game before you actually start playing. They're only designed to make the missions harder for your opponent. So you really only need enough to put one or more under each mission. However we got kind of bored with using dilemmas that we ended up not using them. It makes the game go a lot faster, or if you are new to the game, I would suggest not using them for a few games anyways just to learn how to play. Any more questions let me know have a great day
If you overcome the dilemma you can progress to the next one underneath or finish the mission. if the dilemma criteria are not met it stops your progress and you cant do anything with that away team until the next turn.
The Premiere set was pretty good, but you have to remember that the game had just come out. I took a few of the expansions to fix some of the problems and improve game mechanics.
subtle detail, at 23:50 that romulan, Tomek is a hologram. he wouldn't be able to beam down to the planet because only the ship has a holodeck.
Hey good point! I forgot about that. It's been a wile since I played lol. I believe in the Voyager cards there was a holographic transmitter that allows such actions but it wasn't in the original deck. 😎👍
@@OmegaOrdained haha, I was organizing my cards when I watched this. great video. the good ol days, when the game was tailored to federation lol.

I was at the thrift store and I spent about 6 bucks on a big box of the white border cards all the name characters are there very nostalgic.
Very cool, any rare cards in the box? like an Enterprise or a Picard?
Omega Ordained t. riker, data, worf, geordi, picard, and Albert Einstein to name a few. so many cards.

What is the use of Integrity if during a battle between personnels you only look at strength ? And what if they have both the same strenght number ?
Hey hey, you don't use Integrity in a personal battle. If they both have the same strength the attacker wins
ok then Integrity it is used only for missions and dilemmas ?
Qualcunaltro1 yep that is correct☺
