BRILLIANT synopsis. I am almost 70 years old, and I rejoice to see that really intelligent young people are taking note of the ASTOUNDING works of Kurt Vonnegut. I am proud to say that I provided the music for the Grand Opening of the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library in Indianapolis. What an HONOR. I did it for FREE. I told them it was the least I could do to honor the memory of this man who was such an influence on me. Thank you!
The first time I read the “make love when you can. It’s good for you” moral, I thought it was a funny albeit throwaway joke. Then I read it a second time and realized how wrong I was.
I followed this book after reading Hannah Arendt's Banality of Evil (Based on the trail of Eichmann in Jerusalem 1960). Both works are amazing reads. One terribly true and factual, the other terribly dark and fictitious.
Helga is equal to Campbell and he says just that. Helga is killed in Crimea, while entertaining the troops. It's the nation of Two, not the nation of slave and master. As for Potapov telling him to "get a woman". That's just the way straight males talk. He doesn't mean "go out and club one". He means " stop being a hermit ". Also Campbell realizes how shallow his and Helga s marriage is. He says two thing that are gospel. 1 their conversations made no more sense than birds chirping. And that's why couples in love make people sick. But " No young person on earth is so excellent in all respects as to need no uncritical love".
It's not just him, i see a lot of otherwize good videos diminished by using the condenser mic the computer comes with. Maybe it's a pet peeve of mine but I feel bad he put all the work into it and failed to use a quality remote mic. It's a simple thing to do but people treat it like an afterthought. Oh well, live and learn - but i am HERE 2 HeLp!
