    Really great review. Taken the mystery out of this camera for a pure digital man, and as I've just been given one, I so needed to know how to use this. Very clearly presented, and so much easier than wading through the old manual that came with it. Thanks!

    thanks for the great video! just wondering, i am looking to purchase this camera but the seller is saying sometimes the film won’t advance unless you push some sort of pin on the film back. Thoughts? Thanks again.

    Thank you for the video, that was really helpful. I’m interested in buying one of these cameras and you have solved some of the mystery of what the parts all do. 😊

    With the AE Prism finder, would you just leave the shutter speed dial on the A/AEL setting, and would it then automatically fire at the correct speed, or do you still have to manually turn the dial to the speed that it advises, more like a guide?

  • @ekphotography

    Thanks for the review, But I thought the camera would not fire with out the little tiny battery that goes in the bottom...?

    Thanks for making the video, very helpful. And yes, more videos please. And booo on all those people finding things to moan about while probably never having helped anyone (except with shitty comments)

    Thanks for this fantastic video! Is the same camera compatible with the automatic winder/handle module ?

      nicholo1 thanks! I’m actually in the middle of making an updated review because this one is painfully boring. But yes, that auto film advance handle is compatible with this model 👍

    Which focusing screen did you end up getting? I cant get pin point focus on mine. Magnifier required? Or just a better focusing scren?

    Nice video man, I have a question. If you use a trigger and external flash, let's say on a tripod with an umbrella, you are still limited to the sync speed of the canera (1/60), is that correct?

    • @FilmPhotographyClub
      @FilmPhotographyClub  8 лет назад +1

      Guairenito thanks! For the most part, 1/60 is gonna be your sync speed even if you're using a tigger, which is bad news I'm sure. The only thing that will allow u to shoot a faster sync speed, is if u use a leaf shutter lens. I don't own any leaf shutter lenses, so I only know this by way of internet research, but the main idea is that your camera opens its shutter, then the leaf shutter lens fires its shutter and then the camera closes its shutter. I think you can sync up to 1/500 with a mamiya leaf shutter lens but I could be off a little bit. Check it out though.

    Thank you for the video! im having a hard time picking between the PRO TL or the Super ...or the old but reliable RB67. This videos had been very helpful towards making my final decision .

    • @FilmPhotographyClub

      Nice! What one do you plan on getting?

    • @Johnybulletproof
      @Johnybulletproof 7 лет назад

      i have an offer for a Hasselblad 501 cm with the 80 mm f2.8 .I wanted the Mamiya 645 and A good Friend of mine went to Tokyo and practically she searched all over and couldnt find a 645 PRO , PRO TL OR SUPER Not even a damaged one =( . They just Banished during her Trip . I know Hasselblad is awesome but , i think i have a fair chance with the Mamiya and i can get more lenses faster than having to save for a single Hasselblad Lens . Wich one would you recomend?

    • @FilmPhotographyClub
      @FilmPhotographyClub  7 лет назад +1

      Eduardo Heredia Cabuto Wow, too bad your friend couldn't find one for you there. I thought that's where all the good cameras are at. Can you buy on EBay? That's where I buy a lot of my camera gear. I was choosing between a Bronica, a Mamiya 645, or 645 Pro/ Pro TL and I'm really glad I went with the Pro TL. It's probably the camera I enjoy shooting the most. I think the RB67 would be fun to shoot but it is absolutely gigantic! I like to walk around and shoot and the 645 Pro without the side grip is pretty manageable. And like you said, the lenses are way more affordable. I also like the light meter in my viewfinder. It seems very accurate. Let me know what you decide on.

    • @Johnybulletproof
      @Johnybulletproof 7 лет назад

      yes , the meter is a possible deal breaker on the Hasselblad it comes with a standar viewfinder , i use a Nikon F3 and an FM as back up and i know how to shoot all mechanic but if im getting 10 shots out of a roll hehe i better have the right exposure . I shop on ebay but i wanted it straight from the streets of Japan , i guess all of those are being sold on ebay like you say and thats one of the things that made me pick the "hasselhoff" because a friend handed it over to me to see if i wanna keep it . I keep playing your videos over and over jeje i guess the PRO TL with the metered Viewfinder will be the one now, i will start hunting for it , Thanks for taking the time to answer you rule .

    how do you rewind it ? take the film out with out messing it up ? - I am a total novice help anyone scared of taking film out

    • @FilmPhotographyClub
      @FilmPhotographyClub  5 лет назад

      Good question! It never occurred to me to explain this but it's a very valid question if you've never used this style of camera.
      Unlike 35mm film SLRs, you don't need to rewind your film. In the film back, you have two spools. One spool with the unexposed film (top spool) and the other spool (bottom spool) is taking up the exposed film when you advance it.
      Once you've shot all your frames, keep winding the film advance crank a few times to make sure the transfer is complete (from top spool to bottom spool). After that, you're good to go.
      Open the film back, take out the bottom spool, fold the film tab back and use the adhesive band on the film to prevent the film from unraveling.
      You're left with an empty top spool. That's what you'll use as your new "take up" spool when you load in your next roll.
      Hope that makes sense. Good luck!

    Thanks for the video. Very didactic. I have the Mamiya 645 Pro Tl (like this one ruclips.net/video/n3-lXwIRXZM/видео.html) for 5 months and I still haven't taken any photos. I hope to do it soon. Your video helps me understand how the camera works. I find it difficult to understand how A and AEL modes work. The viewfinder I have is the AE FK402. can you help me? Greetings
    Gracias por el vídeo. Muy didáctico. Yo tengo la Mamiya 645 Pro Tl ( como esta ruclips.net/video/n3-lXwIRXZM/видео.html )ya 5 meses y todavía no he hecho ninguna foto. Espero hacerlo pronto. Su vídeo me ayuda a comprender el funcionamiento de la cámara. Me resulta difícil comprender el funcionamiento de los modos A y AEL El visor que tengo es el AEFK402. ¿me puede ayudar? Gracias
