I'm Malaysian and watched videos of Filipino singers and they're all great but my favorite is morissette ..no comparison!

She has it all. Well balanced and effortlessly done.
The technique is so impecable. She can do a whistle tone too.

Both are so great! But there’s something about Mori’s rendition that draws me in. Her connection to songs transports me to somewhere else “my happy place”. The ending is everything. Brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard this version.

Solo al ESCUCHARLA cantar AKIN KA NA LANG por primera vez uno se queda IMPACTADO solo en una CANCION una variedad de RECURSOS VOCALES ( vibrato,melismas ,voz de silbido,raspit voice,riff y final ESPECTACULAR aparte del sentimiento q le pone )y le duele a profesores de música q la escuchan.La mismísima MARIAH CAREY, JESSE J ,MAICHEL BOLTON, BEN ADAMS entre otros la han elogiado y dicen q es AMAZING.

I am a huge fan of both ladies, Katrina is known for her belting and voice agility, Mori for me has the same ability albeit more richness to her tone and is more of a refined singer. I am a bit more biased towards Mori as i've seen her go to different genre musically and adapt quite well. Mori's delivery of the songs and how she convey's her emotions through them bar none is tops! Regardless I love both ladies and have appreciation how they make music seem so easy and warms my heart every time I see them perform.

What I love about Mori is when she's hitting lower register as much as she hits higher registers and the cries😌 and growls which are natural to her. And her diction and vowel enunciation are fantastic!!! 👌👏👏👏👏

Not really, singing from the heart is subjective sometimes, many singers can sing from the heart. It depends to the peoplei if they can feel it or not
It's only when you put Morissette up against another singer that you realize how friggin fantastic she is, she is the total package, never overdoes it, but there again, she doesn't have to.
Two types of music listeners. The type who admires the artistic quality and unique style of Morissette and the other one likes the screechy high-pitched tone of Katrina. It speaks volume of class and taste.
Both of them are precious gems of Philippines Music Industry They have different tone quality and attack to the song. But Katrina captured me.
Mori= is like the builder from ashes. She is the creator and owner of every stages in the world. She will owned your heart and soul.
Katri= is like the smasher and burner of any stage she's on. She will put your heart and soul on fire.
They are both singers talaga at mahuhusay talaga sila undeniably but i like singer who has angelic voice, kahit bumibirit sya ay napakasarap pakinggan...and that is Morisette Amon❤️❤️❤️

@BrunO De MarchiS But compared to other singers that also have extreme good technique like Katrina here or So Hyang for me in the end its her tone that simply touches me more and gives me just a feeling that i don't get from the others.
Of course the tone is maybe in the end also a result of technique, but i'm not the big voice nerd who really can say that. I remember one reactor talked about using different vibrato timings and stuff like that, but for me its in the end only the result i hear and i either like it more or not.
@BrunO De MarchiS Yeah, what you say about not screaming at high notes, that makes maybe a lot that she sounds so much nicer since she always has this nice warm tone, while the others then sound "colder" maybe.
And even here whistle in Akin Ka Na Lang sounds still quite "warm". Haven't heared Mariah for long time, but i think even her whistles back in the 90s sounded that good.
hard to choose but base on their recording materials, its very clear who manages to deliver the song and make it sound like as if shes in the recording studio as well.

MORISSETTE so far has the best version of 'NEVER ENOUGH' not just because of belting the high notes and extend it by sliding to another higher notes but because the cleaner and clearer of every word and her
vocal breaks, vocal cry, the growl no doubt about it! but of course KATRINA is also an incredible singer in this generation what makes Katrina's version is her different phrasing and She belts high in another parts of the song. Another advantage of Mori is the emotions She puts in a song. The continuation of soothness and the pronunciation connections. You see the ending part do you find any emotions of the phrasing of the song? Unlike the finishing
touch of Mori you can feel the soul of the last word.
KATRINA is also a Phenomenal singer today and should be recognize! I wonder why She doe not have a lot of Projects or concerts in and out of the Country for the last decade

To be fair, i dont follow this Jona very much so i may have missed something here, but i watched multiple videos of her queen of the night, and to say she can sing opera is… absolutely ridiculous. She can sing, my god yes! But the girl do not do operatic singing justice. Also, almost like an insult to so many actually trained and gifted coloratura soprano out there. It was the worst rendition of queen of the night in any big stage I have seen. Mozart is rolling in his grave

At the end of the day, I'll go for someone whos completely relatable. They both sang it emotionally, but I was easily connected more with how Mori performed. Overall they both did well.

Katrina is one of a kind, she can belt with the highest and longest notes. But Overall I love Morrisette, in terms of diction, the melody of her voice, just overall she sounds more angelic and always gives me chills.
Katrina sang this song straight forward with only a little salt and msg, and Morissette had her version with added spices that spell the difference. Both are superb performers and are my two favorite Filipina singers. Thank you for this reaction.
