- In an age of heavy nostalgia bait, I thought, why not catch some fish (came up with that by myself)? Today we're looking at, probably, one of the most nostalgic centerpieces of my life, Pajama Sam. This game has it all, and I truly struggled to condense my thoughts into 20 minutes, but here we are... so I guess that means I did it. With 10 times more detail than I remember and a short and sweet playtime, this video is sure to be quite the journey.

I used to play Pajama Sam an unhealthy amount as a child. My little ADHD ass was alternating between stimming, clicking everything on screen, and literally rolling on the floor in excitement.
Bro that sounds fun as shit ngl. Wish I could roll around on the floor with excitement over something 😂
this is so real
Don’t forgot reclicking the music parts cause they bopped
@@jacobburch7555 you can! No one will stop you
This was my favorite game as a kid, I played it in computer class every single chance I got, over and over. We put respect on Pajama Sam’s name

Humongous Entertainment is lowkey the Bethesda Softworks of our childhoods, and we didn't even have the mental capacity to appreciate what they did for us. Damn.
@@olderoscendantStraight facts. Pajama Sam, Freddie the Fish, Spyfox….the list goes on.
I’m tempted to download one of them just for the nostalgia of it.
@Obsidianightwalker you should do it.
@@ObsidianightwalkerSpyfox also went insanely hard, I forgot about that one
It's endearing to see Andy this genuinely overjoyed about something. My man is HYPED.
right? never heard of this and so confused but i’m happy he’s happy
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THAY FIRST VIDEO WIFH TALKING TREES IS I NEED IT
I can't see Pajama Sam without thinking of DougDoug.
Same! The only guy I know who would kill 25 kids named Sam in just a few hours.
Need an Andy King/DougDoug crossover
Who is Doug Doug? 👀

The art style is so cozy and nostalgic i cant explain it! I dont remember this game but it reminds me of Saturday morning cartoons and too much sugary cereal 😂
I am scared of the dark because of trauma and whatnot, but im getting better at it. I dont have lights on in every room anymore!
Good luck on your healing journey.. things will keep getting better❤
I completely agree! It reminds me of old Nickelodeon shows! :D
It reminds me of Dora the Explorer
Just want to say I’m proud of you. Healing is hard but I’m glad you’re making progress. Sending good vibes your way. ❤
Humongous entertainment games were my childhood.
Sam saying “i think i saw something on the other side of the door…” still creeps me out
I'm afraid of the dark... Damn.
We are a bunch of babies as the king says...

No one remembers? Dude I was obsessed with these games and FREQUENTLY think about the first one and the cool art style, music, etc. These were awesome! I didn't grow up with Nintendo, I only ever had a PS2 when I was like ten onwards, never really a big gamer, but I LOVED my weird interactive PC games like this!
Im not sure if Andy mentions this but you can still buy one of the games on steam for like 7 dollars
I was a PC kid too!!! Rollercoaster Tycoon took up a lot of my time as a kid lol.
Yes!! Our first console growing up was PS2, but we had a lot of these games on the computer first. Watching this just unlocked a part of my brain I haven’t accessed in a while.
I remember vividly, that once I backfliped on a bed of a friend, fell from the bed, onto my head, felt no pain and her mother was deeply concerned.
I blame this moment for all my mental problems. You never know, maybe that is the way you can change your personality like the cartoon showed.
i was a clumsy dreamy child and would often get hit in the head in PE when someone threw the ball at me. and i was staring into space i was already pretty weird, but i don't think the traumatic brain injuries helped either of us... lol
I would bang my head against the metal bedframe of my bunkbed to fall asleep. I think it was because I heard a story of a girl who bumped her head while sledding and feel asleep and never woke up and I just took that as meaning if you bump your head it will make you fall asleep. And yes, I do have a lot of mental problems.
@@splendidsimpthe shadow the hedgehog pfp makes this comment 1000x better tbh
There’s this theory that your entire personality is based on how you hit your head when you’re a baby so who knows
The potion room actually can help you beat the game since there are alternate playthroughs and one of them involves using a potion in that room.
Yee yee if the mask spawns in the dancing furniture room you’ve gotta drink the invisibility potion then take the dumbwaiter shortcut back up to the ground floor to grab the mask before the invisibility wears off :P
Oh that's so fun!
Andy your videos saved my parents marriage, and I thank you for that.
can you give a step by step tutorial on how that happened? asking for a friend
Hey, it’s definitely your mom’s lawyer, mind explaining in excruciating detail exactly how this happened?

What an absolute nostalgia trip. Humongous Entertainment was really ahead of its time with this one, backyard baseball, the fish explorer game and the purple race car game as well. What an absolute treat.
"The Purple Race Car". Excuse me, Putt Putt has a name.
@@trianglemoebius I couldn't remember Putt Putts name😂😭😭😭
Freddi Fish!
Backyard baseball consumed me as a kid 😭
dude, as a kid, i was IN LOVE with the game in this series called “You Are What You Eat, From Your Head To Your Feet”. just genuinely like my favorite game of all time. i killed hours upon hours messing around with all the talking foods on my family computer in the middle of the kitchen.
I loved how different each replay would be. Some had different things on different areas. So you could always replay it!
“Bagaboosh” - smartest toddler on this world
Between you, dougdoug, and gamegrumps, safe to say this game is having a RENAISSANCE this year and I am LOVING IT
Dude. You just unlocked a core memory from my childhood. This and Freddie Fish were my jam as an eight year old!
I love how uninterested and annoyed the kid looks everytime Auto talks more than answering the questions the kid asks.
this era of gaming is sorely missed - i need to find them for my own kids to experience
Steam has them now. About $100 for everything
also available on the ipad
Never thought Andy King would be the one to make a video about Pajama Sam, so happy to share such a core memory with you.
I know everything I know about this game from DougDoug and his fever dream of a stream. I’m glad your explanation contains a lot less child death.
This video has unlocked a core memory from my childhood. I used to have a recurring nightmare about talking trees that would eat my family when they stepped under them. For years I’ve been occasionally searching for some old show or movie that might have caused this, because when I say it was recurring, I mean I had this dream about once a week. Who knew it was from a video game that I think I only played two or three times. Thank you Andy for solving this mystery for me, and also reawakening my childhood nightmare fuel🖤
you have single handedly reached into the depths of my subconscious and pulled this memory out of me with this video. i didnt even know this shit existed
Revived nostalgia I’d completely forgotten about. I was obsessed with this game as a kid. The mine scenes and potion room especially.
The family computer in a common room is sooo early 2000s kids core
@@mayalesniak I feel like kitchen is like giving no space for an office tbh or like there was a whole big phase where kitchens had built in desks… idk my kitchen had one but we did keep the computer in an office area so the kitchen wouldn’t be crowded since we did cook a lot
@@mayalesniak Sounds like you got it backwards IMO, I grew up with a computer in the kitchen of a tiny ass house as a teenager, and having an "obscure office room" sounds like a rich person thing to me. Like in order to have a whole room dedicated to being an office, you would have to be pretty well off.
@@mayalesniaklol I was not rich whatsoever and we had a Mac in our common room too💀 we were broke… not everything has to be a fight
This video started out as nostalgic, and ended as healing, for me. This is probably the only time I ever remember enjoying a game- probably because there was very little pressure to “win” because they sort of guide you to the end. Can you please do more Pajama Sam game reviews/synopses? I’ll probably have this video in repeat for a while. Thank you for giving me a chance to enjoy this game again, 20 years later. It’s even better than I remembered.
I can confirm that this has been my favorite game since I was little. And seeing this title makes me feel old as hell 😢
3:56 "I can't think of a game that has a BETTER intro. Ghost Of Tsushima? Nice horse, LOSER. I just fell 1,000 feet into my closet!"
oh boy have I got a game for you..../silly (deltarune chapter 1)
Edit: 6:43 "Sorry if I sound a little weird and clownish today, I am sick, once again" *laughs* "I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS KEEPS HAPPENING!" that is so me
I don’t mean to be dramatic but this is not only one of your best videos but also one of the best on RUclips holy shit
God this game gives me so much nostalgia from playing It as a kid on my parents desk top. Loved all the other games like spy fox and freddi fish too.
I used to play Pajama Sam: Thunder and Lightening aren’t so Frightening alllll the time on our family computer in the living room. This was so nostalgic to me
This is probably my favorite video of yours. You are HYPED and I am here for it 😂
DougDougs AI play through of this is permanent addition to my mind
I don't think Andy knows how much we love to just hear him jibber jabber about anything and everything.
Between DougDoug and now Andy I'm hearing so much about a game that I didn't even know existed until this year
okay first off HOW DARE YOU??? playing cheese and crackers is one of my favourite parts of this game, and i can't believe you would call it a useless unimportant waste of time....
but anyway, i felt the same way you did when i bought this game on steam and replayed it a few years ago!! it holds such good memories and i love seeing you feel those same warm and cozy pajama sam feelings ❤
Nostalgia is a very powerful emotion. Glad is made you so happy, I can see it!
I 100% agree with how healing/comforting it felt to play the game after so many years. I bought the Humongous Entertainment game pack a few weeks ago and played Putput Goes to the Moon. Omgosh I was teary-eyed the whole game.
I LOVED THIS GAME SO MUCH AS A KID!! I'm so happy you made a video of it 😭😭 My favorite part is playing cheese and crackers. I still say provolone the way the game does.
what's better than this? a funny guy talking about a childhood game. i wish this could be youtube all the time ever
I didn't realize I was the only one who only knows about these games through library computers
i loved this video! this game was my favorite next to putt putt. Brings back good memories !
I’ve honestly never heard of this game but I’ve never seen so many wizard of Oz parallels in a game haha. Loved the video, too!! I think it’s really interesting when you pull things from your own childhood to do commentary on.
I loved this game as a kid! I also had Freddie Fish and Putt Putt games. My fav pajama sam game was "Thunder and Lightning aren't so Frightening. " "No need to hide when it's dark outside" was ironically too scary for me because of how dark it was.
I love Pajama Sam! It was a big hit with me and my friends. We also loved Putt Putt Joins the Circus, which is also one I think about a lot
I USED TO PLAY PAJAMA SAM ALL THE TIME OMFG WHAT A MASTERPIECE OF A GAME i'm so glad to see this was a formative memory for other ppl too :')❤i remember there being another pajama sam game too all about the weather that shit was SICK AS HELL lol and freddi fish was another favorite
This one and "Thunder and lightning aren't so frightening " .
Also a game called "spyfox" was pretty awesome and similar genre as well.
Pajama Sam and Reader Rabbit were my childhood
I played Pajama Sam all the time as a kid. I love all the little weird little animations they included in the margins of each screen
I remember Pajama Sam. My mom taught kids computers and this was one of the games they played.
I love this please do the whole series!
Pajama Sam 3 was the only one I ever played so of course that shit is my JAM
i actually love seeing you get very excited over these things as it feels very relatable to how i show excitement
the lighting makes you look like batman in the batman 2022 poster /vpos. two of my favorite things
Honestly i think this is one of my favorite Andy videos I love watching people get overly excited for very random things
PAJAMA! FRIGGIN! SAM!!!!! My partner and I got this from Steam recently and I could TASTE the nostalgia
I bought all the humongous entertainment games on steam and still play them sometimes when I’m feeling nostalgic
I played Pajama Sam on a computer. It scared me because I felt like I was being watched in the game. I never finished it because I was a kid but it was fun to do the puzzles
I used to play pajama Sam and Freddie Fish all the time as a kid. I absolutely love those games.
I loved how excited you were about this game, you could really tell how much you liked it. I’ve seen countless videos of other people playing this game, but seeing your genuine love for it was great
i've been nervous waiting for the cast list for the musical and this video is cheering me up, your videos always make me die 😭😭

So happy you played this game again! Brought me back to the many times I played this game as a kid.
oh my god i remember playing this at my grandma's house... i still think about the password being 'provolone' in that one scene where you're talking to a tree or a toaster or some shit... wild.
Andy upload lets go!! Perfect timing aswell, so excited to watch it :D
Putt Putt was such a good game, but my favorite game was “Freddi Fish and the Missing Kelp Seeds”. I remember it so well.
You literally gave me nostalgia flashbacks. I must have played No Need to Hide three times.
Great video, love hearing people talk about things close to them
I don't remember most of the details of this game, but every major character is seared into my memory. Otto, King, Sam. But if you told me to tell you the plot of the game or you'd shoot me, you'd have to blow my brains out.
I did however play Freddi Fish *_religiously_*
dude, I loves this as a kid! My dad still remembers way too many details about it because it’s all I wanted to play for ages 😂
my own dark fact!! there's a book called "the third policeman" which has a philosopher character who believes that darkness is actually accumulated black air. the character's named de selby and is actually rlly fascinating imo
here to rewatch this for the third time today. this is such a fun video!!! love a comfy older game and love love LOVE seeing people enjoy things with their whole heart
Hi Andy! I love your videos sm :) I find myself binging them when I’m sick, which just happens to be a lot
Same. Nerve damage and liver damage 😢
I couldn’t remember the name of this for 10 years thank you
I firmly stand by this being the best game ever. Thanks for making this! The genuine tingles I got from seeing this game again.
This was one of my favorite computer games as a kid. One of my mom's friends even made me a pajama sam cape and there were several days in pre school where I told my teacher that my name was pajama sam and would only answer to that name, lol.
god every now and again i get a random flashback of playing this game in the dark basement of my family home .... twas a simpler time.
I wasn’t the only kid who’s computer was in the kitchen? Everyone asks me why my computer is in the kitchen 😭 idk, it’s where it’s always been
brb having an existential crisis bc Andy is basically my age and also a nostalgia attack bc i LOVED this game and also Spy Fox
After watching this I want to play this game so bad, great video ❤
I could not be happier when I got the notification for this video I loved this dang game!!! & Putt-Putt omg such great games
Omg i loved this game, but I had "you are what you eat from your head to your feet", the song of the intro is so catchy
My fave video from you ever cus of the nostalgia you gave me. I used to play pajama sam with my close friend from childhood at her house. For some reason we would always stop playing when we got to the treehouse though 😅
Panama Sam and Freddie Fish!! I had both on floppy disk.
This voice actor also voiced Spinelli from Recess as well as Bobby! A true icon of the late 90’s
Peak gaming is finally getting recognition it deserves 💪💪💪
Haven't even started the video and I'm excited, lolz. I used to play the Shit out of this specific Pajama Sam game.
I also love seeing Andy's take on older stuff from childhood.
dude i LOVE how excited and passionate you are in this one!! seeing you talk about something you love is awesome!!
I need you to go over all the humongous games 😭😭 do it for our nostalgia
dude yes i loved humongous entertainment games yet whenever i bring it up, no one else has heard of them?? freddi fish was my JAM….. during the pandemic i actually went back and played a whole bunch of them so i totally agree about how they can be a nostalgic comfort during a low point lol
Could have watched 2 hours of this, scratched a part of my brain that’s been itching since I was 7
andy you make our day the best keep it up and yes dark facts is a nice thing :D
I absolutely loved these games. Please for nostalgic purposes do the other games as well 😊
This game scares me, I don't know if it's because of the audio quality, the liminalness of the places or the fact that it gives me nostalgia that's far too old for me to recover fully. It might be all of those and it probably is.
Last time I was this early, John Tapper wasn't a part of Andy's lore
yoo i saw this and immediately clicked i loved this game as a kid can't wait to see what this guy i watch on youtube says!!!!!!!
i’ve never even seen this game before but im obsessed because of how excited it makes u
I spent so. many. hours. playing the Pajama Sam games omg. "You Are What You Eat From Your Head to Your Feet" was my shit
it was fun watching you stream playing it! i never heard of pajama sam until the past few years, but boy if us little neurodivergent followers don't love watching a guy talk about something he likes 🥰 i also rlly enjoy being a mid 20s adult able to look back on kids games from the 90s - early 2000s and the audio and graphics quality instantly bringing nostalgia
Been watching your videos casually and just found this review after talking about this game just a couple days ago and yea lots of good memories playing this game
Omg I remember playing this on the Wii and absolutely adoring it! So dope to see a video about it, the nostalgia is crazy
Also love your bits throughout, the delivery on “tried to fuck me” at 11:19 had me on the verge of tears
