Hi guys I’m in the hospital recovering from that insanely crisp transition at 11:34
Really wish I could like this comment more than once!
Took me a minute to get that one right. Glad it hit 😀
Whoa! Totally missed that - thanks for highlighting it. That's the coolest transition I've seen!
First thing I came to the comments to point out. Such a nice touch! Hope your recovery is swift lol
It was so crisp that I didn’t even notice it
I enjoyed how you converted "mistakes" into "design features", a useful skill.
a Bob Ross disciple?
"We'll call it a design feature" - Me and my dad to each other every ten minutes when we build something
Cool clamp pads!! Epoxy pattern looks sick!
channeled my inner Maker Ranch on this bad boy :)
Pro trick: you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
That oscillating belt sander! You have the fantasy factory of woodworking.
that desk its 5 times more expensive than that HP PC System.
I'd say 50 times 😂😂
One of the realest woodworkers on RUclips, sure there may be some fancy tools, but how can you not love the honesty in his work. Awesome.
There’s a 100% chance that I start saying, “Design feature” during every project for the rest of my life.
😂😂😂
Now I'm going to refer to the glowing background in my render a design feature.
Design Feature... that reminds me of flying RC planes and having an "Unscheduled Landing".
Update: I’ve had two small projects since I saw this video and they both had “design features”
the color of the wood is awesome and the pattern on the pattern on the front is nice. really cool idea. :D
those drawer fronts!! 🔥🔥
Thanks, brother!
You put a lot of thought and work into this desk! The drawer fronts with the grout-like epoxy looks fantastic! Kids better appreciate this beauty!
Thanks! Oh, and I'm getting a clear desk cover for it just in case :)
Beautiful project!!!
I love following you man! Yes I hate IKEA crap too!! Im a carpenter as well starting my RUclips channel thanks for the inspiration Brad!!
Thanks! Best of luck on the RUclips channel. Check out Tim Schmoyer on Video Creators...great info on starting a channel
That turned out really sharp, Brad! I love the design on the drawer fronts.
Thanks, Bruce! My favorite feature too
I love the finish and the tops, beautiful desk
I think that was a great use of your CNC
"And it should have magic marker on it, within the week"
- Me, with literally everything I build XD
#dadlife, am I right?
#truth
Nice transition at 11:34 :)
had fun with that one :)
Gorgeous build!
I gotta say that drawer front design is really sleek and a great way to step it up without making it stand out too much.
Did you just get me interested in woodworking? Subscribed.
Beautiful build. I love the drawer fronts. Nice job!
Thanks, Tim!
just discovered your channel and i'm loving it. as a carpenter myself ive learned a lot so far from just 2 of your vids. also i like how there's no cheesy annoying stock music in the background and your product placement is more than bareable lol. you get paid and we dont have to sit through 2 minutes of product plugging/ short and sweet. have a sub. cheers mate
STUNNING!!!!!!!
No one:
This guy: “my kids were really just design features for my life, and that’s ok”
Absolutely beautiful desk man! I loooooooooooooove the cable management area. If I had the tools to make something as beautiful I totally would do it.
Like developers say: "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" 😂
As a developer myself, that's true
Yeah, I’m just gonna have to go to ikea. Incredible desk. Awesome work.
thank you!
“We’ll call it a design feature.” You’re a pro!
Beautiful.
That desk is stunning and I love all of the tips and tricks you shared in the video! Using magnets to hold that panel on is just pure genius Brad. Take care and have a blessed day! - Ed
SuperNice desk 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
Computer tower on the carpet is really a bad idea: it builds up a ton of dust inside the case! Nice desk tough.
It's also bad for over-heating and static discharge. You can find little lifter stands on amazon for cheap. I'd hate for something to happen to the PC :(
@@Krunnky or some $700 wheels from some fruit company
Lol, love the comment about Magic Marker! Been there, done that with a freshly painted bedroom. Great looking desk, I really like the cable management.
Beautiful work!
Pure talent and skill
Looks great! Nicely done. Noticed the two week turnaround from film to post. People seem to forget that it takes time to edit and find those snippets..h a ha ha..good one!
To get around the issues with using pocket screws for the top, you can increase the height of the drill block on the jig. That will put the shoulder of the pocket hole far enough back to deal with the longer screws and actually give you a bit more meat for the screws. I did this on a walnut faceframe and it worked like a charm 👌👌
You are an amazing carpenter.
That desk turned out awesome Brad! BTW, Great design changes & very similar to what I always wind up doing.............. Stay safe.............😉😉👍👍
Really beautiful result man, great job!
You took the mistake with attaching the leg stretchers so much better than I take way smaller mistakes. I gotta get better at that!
I've made enough that I just roll with it :)
Nah. Mallet across the workshop is the way to roll. Once you have patched enough holes in gyprock due to a temper tantrum you learn to dial back your reactions!!!😆
Why did u sand the burning marks? It looked really cool. It gave style to the planks.
Looks awesome Brad. I’ve enjoyed following the build via your Patreon Builder’s Club.
very nice and clean job.
Brad, as Bob Ross says, "There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents." :)
Just happy little design features
Quick tip don't leave your PC on the floor. That's how it gets really dusty. Sick desk though! Keep up the awesome work!
"DIY" with 10.000$+ professional equipment :D i would like to see this table with a average person equipment. Great video btw!
That is one beautiful desk
i can't make it, but i want to buy that desk!! nice work mate
Honestly? a truly beatiful peice. i wish i could make this. i genuinely love it. i just want you to know that. i want one. so great. this is a troll account normally but my god, it needed to be said. absolutely wonderfu. a true artist. a masterpeice.
Thank you!
Great work! Is there a playlist for people who want to do this as hobby, with mostly hand tools, rather than expensive electric machines?
This is awesome. I love it. Should have added a charging station.
Well done
I really like the suggestion of gluing on sandpaper to the offcuts. Great tip and great build, Brad!
Little tip to get glue out from the inside corner: take a short piece of a plastic straw and use that to get the squeezeout out ;)
Breaking plugs off a piece of scrap wood is the woodworkers version of popping bubble wrap...
I think that the contrasting dowels would have looked real nice, but I understand hiding them as well.
That wire management, and I have done tons of that myself, is just beautiful. Cheers! ✌️
gotta love a tidy desk :)
Don't forget to put your PC on the desk, it is so much healthier for it. there is less dust and is something everyone should know and do but not many people do.
Beautiful! A piece of art! I did not see a link for the particular Rubio finish you used. Can you add it?
Here you go! Rubio Pure Finish - amzn.to/2Y9k0r5
What to you think about using dowels vs Dominos in assembling the legs? I’m glad to see this for a change. Seems everyone is using Dominos these days.
Sos un genio! sigo siempre tus proyectos, abrazo grande desde Buenos Aires, Argentina!
This is amazing. Truly amazing.
Your tools are amazing.. Tim Allen grunt
great video as usual. Love to look of that walnut.
Desk is beautiful. Getting close to 1 million subs too.
"Hidden cable Management" using wireless keyboard and mouse lol
Yep, the wires are hidden in the USB receiver 😂😂
I noticed that also. Lol 🤣
Still, awesome build !! As always.
@@Fixthisbuildthat The next Desk should include one or two Qi charging zones somewhere, around where a mousepad would be, and towards the edge 😄
Hidden behind a thin wooden layer, invisible of course.
Would you say upgrading to a k5 or k4 would be a huge upgrade from the r30 or would you say spend my money on a different woodworking tool?
I'd absolutely go with a K5. Will literally save you hours of time and frustration over the life of it. Easy choice
That sandpaper and off-cut clamp trick is next level!
Loved the video! Where do you buy your hardwood?
This is sick!! Awesome job, very inspiring
Nicely done -- design features and all !! :) I've made more than my share of "design features" over the years.... lol
Oh man I love walnut. I built a coffee table and stool in highschool. Was spendy but dam they look good. Where are you ever going to find a solid walnut top 2-3' table with hickory legs and cherry sides
I think this was a competition about how many tools to use on one project.
🤣🤣🤣
80k€ Of instruments used in this video xD
Love the desk! Well done
Poor mans clamp with very expensive clamps. LOL!
Wow
"DIY"
Breaks out CNC Machine...
You really think people who want to make high end stuff in their garage are going to use crap tools and achieve that LOL. It's $2000 for that cnc, I have it and it's freakin amazing. Takes quite a few diy skills to make good of it, by the way. I legit made the projects to pay for it in one night. Don't hate the player, hate that you aren't grinding to ball out yourself..
@@Irishluckily way to miss the point
Karmic Knight nah dude not at all lol. Pay to play 🤷♂️ sorrryyy
@@Irishluckily You should see my DIY car, all you need is an automotive plant!
Vagitaria wonder what else you exaggerate
Hope one day I can build like you 😁
That was a joy to watch, great work!👌
What brand plug cutters do you recommend? Couldn't find them in your affiliate link. Thanks.
I REALLY like the epoxy

Love the CNC design on the front of this desk. Great idea and nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video and amazing looking desk but the DIY part is a bit overused since the powertool used, especially the CNC machine, is far from DIY. Other than that seriously amazing work
What program is good to sketch for wood working
I always say I learned woodworking from both my dad and my grandpa: my grandpa taught me to use the tools, my dad taught me how to fix my mistakes. The desk looks amazing, design features and all! I really like the detailed build videos, with all the tips and tricks. Since I've started working and learning on my own, youtube has taught me a lot about joinery and designing a project. Thanks for being a part of that!
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
I am not making any of these yet I am watching all of these.. :)
Really love that design o the front, it'll look even better if the back wall was painted the same 😅
Good desk. Although I do not think you qualify for DIY with so many machines and a woodworking workshop bigger than my house.
Man, gotta step my game up
This is awesome! Really like the drawer fronts. Also love how you get your dumbbell workout in while you build. A+ for multitasking!
Me Before Watching: Oh, maybe I should do this too instead of buying a new desk!
Me 10 min in: Oh, Ikea takes Paypal too!
This guys gonna blow up soon
Love that walnut! Thanks for sharing!
11:34 where he shows how to do the decorative design
I'd suggest a matching table to get the PC off the carpet ;)
I want to get a small box computer and mount to underside of desk eventually
@@Fixthisbuildthat You can get some nice Intel NUC units. Or Raspberry Pi 4.
It’s so small. Where am I supposed to keep all my clutter and piles of junk?
“God, I don’t want one of those horrible desks we make our kids use”
F
Beautiful desk! That tip about adding sandpaper to the offcuts to help with clamping is gold! All your design features are inspirational for a guy like me, who is way too good at adding design features to my own projects 😁
it'll be our little secret :) #designfeature
Loved the "Toasty" meme thrown in!
