Does anyone else think that her videos have this really different feel to them? Like I don't know what it is, but you don't see it in other art channels. It's just so peaceful.
Grow from the sketches you don't like now, you may look back in a year and like what you've done and finally create something new from this. Don't put yourself down giiirl! Your art is wonderful ♡
I love the idea of adding paint randomly around the sketches because even if you dont like them, it makes the page look very nice as a whole 🌞 plus it keeps ir a bit more interesting and motivating to keep going so thanks for the tip!
I really appreciate you showing the stuff you're not that fond of and things that look 'bad.' I haven't been into drawing for that long, and sometimes I'll draw something I'm proud of and be like, "wow, I'm getting better at this!!" and then immediately do a really crappy sketch n I'm like lol nvm. But it's like you can still be an artist and make work that's worse than things you've done in the past, or that you're not into??????????/ so yeah. ALSO THE BIRDS AT THE BEGINNING SAVED MY LIFE.
I really love watching your videos, especially your sketchbook tours. One thing I finally understood after watching your videos is that i shouldn't procrastinate from drawing, because you said that you would do it when you were young but when you grew older you stopped procrastinating. Which shows that you still started anyway so it's best to start now. Thank you :))
I'm currently using that Strathmore multimedia sketchbook, the paper is really great for pencil, pen, and watercolour in moderation. I haven't tried any other mediums in it yet, but I look forward to seeing what you do with it!
JelArts OMG YOU REPLIED 😰!!!!! YOU ARE MY FAVORITE ARTIST ON RUclips!! I love your art soooo much and you always seem so real as a person too! Your videos are really helpful and informative as well. I love watching your videos and I really like watching you grow as an artist!!!
I specifically use the pocket sized one for travel journals. They are perfect for that! (The size, the quality, the pocket at the back, the nice elastic to keep it all together.) I find the expense is worth it for travel journals, because you can treasure the memories in them.
ahhh i adore your sketchbook tours ! i’ve been watching a lot of your videos lately and it’s helped me a lot- i was inspired to finish a sketchbook in one month because of your sketchbook tours, something i haven’t done before, and i’m enjoying it more than i thought, and seeing improvement i haven’t seen in months. thank you so much, you’re a huge inspiration to me and i admire your work so much!
Aaa I'm so glad to hear that! I'm always so grateful when people find inspiration from me, because I know what it's like to be inspired by someone!! I really appreciate the kind words :') I'm glad that you're having a good time with your sketchbook!!
omy! yay! another sketchbook tour! i LOVE watching (more like listening) your sketchbook tours whenever im studying. i love your homemade sketchbook tour and the one where the sketchbook cover had a bunch of chickens. i really like your gouache paintings, they please me. :) love your sketchbook! ♥️
hey jelllllll i've been watching you since 2017 but it was only for inspo. i stopped art for a while but it came back to me when i bought a sketchbook, and so magically i can start sketching hands, faces and objects now ALL thanks to you!! thank you for your calming voice and your wonderful drawings!! i can now draw properly (i also do those sticky notes and draw over and around)
I think the entire sketchbook is very creative and excellent. Sketchbooks aren't really meant to house well inked, finished illustrations an etc. They're meant for sketching out ideas. So your sketchbook was still well done despite there not being many "polished" art pieces. If that all makes sense ^^`
Love your sketches! Especially the very loose ones, and THE FOX IN THE BUSH IS AMAZING AND THE PUMPKIN GIRL IS ADORABLE. Back in 2011 I tried Moleskine and I loved it at the time. The paper was yellow-ish and very smooth, kind of like smooth bristol paper. Then I got another one a couple of years ago and was surprised to find it having brighter paper with a rougher texture... It no longer took markers and pen very well and was a huge let-down. I haven't really gotten another one since, no idea what their sketchbooks are like now or if they'd ever change it back to something similar to what they had...
I love the birds and that gouache turtle is amazing! I'm currently using a canson xl mixed-media sketchbook and I'm not a huge fan of the texture but I love that it's a sketchbook with a decent paper weight. Because of that I was a bit intimidated though because I felt like I had to take advantage and use a lot of different media so I ended up getting another sketchbook with only okay quality paper to doodle in, it's getting me to plan out illustrations though so it's ended up being quite useful to have to sketchbooks going at once.
There are always sketchbooks that don't turn out like we'd like them to, especially when you're a person that sketches a lot. But I can see that there is a lot of progress here and that is the most important thing. Also congrats on bringing yourself to draw with low energy. That shows a lot of dedication and willpower. 💚
Have you tried a Rhodia webnotebook? It's the same kind of notebook with the elastic band and the ribbon, although the covers of their version are softer and prone to scratching, but overall the same level of durability and quality, BUT the paper is much better than Moleskine. I can't personally attest to how well Rhodia paper holds up to watercolor (I mostly use these kinds of notebooks for writing) but when it comes to fountain pens the difference is dramatic. The Moleskine feathers and bleeds, the Rhodia does not. They also make the webnotebook in landscape orientation.
Love your art. ❤❤❤ Trying to fill up my sketchbook. I'm bad at not finishing them. I'll be in an art store and go.... Oh I have to try this sketchbook LOL 😆 Recently, I bought the Strathmores Colored Pencil pad, just to see if it works good with colored pencils. Now I want to try the Vision Sketchbook since seeing your video 😁
I really love watching sketchbook tours, especially when it's yours! 🎨 I really liked that little pumpkin girl you should develop that character 🎃💚 (I mean if you want to 😂)
I have gotten a canson graphite sketchbook and it curiously takes wet medium and ink extremely well. I’m gonna put watercolor in the next pages for sure.
I love going through your sketchbooks with you. You always have neat things to look at. I really love your gouache work. I've always loved sketchbooks but I haven't really used them to their full potential until the last couple years. I kind of always thought everything had to be perfect in them, almost like a portfolio. And it made it not as enjoyable to work in. Now I love to just sketch random things. I will have some pictures that are complete, detailed and nice. But I don't sweat that they don't all look like a masterpiece.
Aw thank you! And yeah, that's the beauty of sketchbooks! You can literally do anything you want, and there's not too much pressure :) I'm glad you found enjoyment in them!
Yaaay! Me favourite types of videos! Although I do enjoy and video you put out and all your work. Messy or not. 😉 Also, I adored the way this vid started out. xxx
I really like the Sketch part of the sketchbook cause sometimes people do finished art (beautiful btw) but for me is made to make mistakes and scribbles, to draw anything that comes in my head.. Btw love your sketchbook tour!
JennyDespot I know I’m probably not the person you wanted to answer this, however I’ll anyways answer. The more you practice the better you get. If you keep drawing more and more and just keep practicing you’ll eventually become absolutely amazing. Everybody starts out horrible and practices a loooot, that’s how they get this good. Also, you’re the worst critic of your art because you had this idea in your head of how it should look, but everyone else doesn’t have that picture in their head, and sees something amazing. You created something out of nothing. Good job. Keep practicing.
interesting sketchbook! the birds you did in the the sketchbook are so cute :D i wish i could see you drawing a sharks cause you drew them so well they look amazing 💞
Do you use reference for the objects animals and buildings, things like that? I used to draw a lot and it was my favourite thing to do, I want to get back into it very badly. I wonder if drawing things ive taken pictures of would help?
I think the point of a sketchbook is to just practice. You can’t put forth your best effort every time you pick up a pencil. I think you are being really hard on yourself...be proud that you filled a sketchbook and kept drawing even when you weren’t inspired.
Christy Fantino , would you like to say more tips about sketch book pls ? It's 1:51 in my place and am doing my sketch book (+_+) LOL , like how can I keep my sketches neat ?
this might be messy, but it's still a good work, especially some of the sketches are very beautiful! I love your sketchbook tours! Could you maybe do a video about basic painting techniques? i think you're REALLY good at painting. It's just an idea though, you don't need to do that if you don't want to of course!
I really like your gouache paintings!!! Especially the animal ones! I have that exact same sketchbook and I'm having the samw problem. I can't bring myself to finish it because I hate the paper quality on it so much! I tend to use watercolors a lot and that does not sit well with that sketchbook. :'( i was a little dissapointed with the quality of the paper considering its a moleskin and they are pretty pricy.
What kind of materials do you use for sketching because nothing i’ve tried looks good 😓 (but then again, maybe that’s my art😂). I have issues being messy because I love how it looks for other people but I’m a perfectionist for myself.
Thank you! Hmm I guess my biggest tip for that is to find something that you actually want to draw, or try to look at other artists to get in inspired. It can be difficult but if you force yourself, sometimes you're glad you did!
Hi, random people, I want to ask you a question! I’m looking for a new sketchbook, that has thick paper, and is good for watercolors. Any recommendations? 😀
i watched two of your videos and i am very impressed! your work is amazing. I just don't understand why you criticize yourself so much :( don't do that, girl
a sketchbook exists so you can experiment! it doesn't have to be perfect. it is awesome as it is. Its purpose is to study shapes, color, expression, lighting... anything you wish! don't put yourself down like that
Finally a real sketch book with actual sketches and not some perfect drawings... I loved this video ❤️❤️
Bruh ....
that birds look really cool but the turtle is my favorite
Does anyone else think that her videos have this really different feel to them? Like I don't know what it is, but you don't see it in other art channels. It's just so peaceful.
Mhm !
Grow from the sketches you don't like now, you may look back in a year and like what you've done and finally create something new from this. Don't put yourself down giiirl! Your art is wonderful ♡

You are reaalllyyyy good at colouring/painting it gives it a very unique style and i am in love with it
....Am I the only one that never had a Moleskine ?
i'm like
canson forever??
No you’re not😂😬
Someone bought me a moleskine the first time I tried getting into watercolors.
They're not horrible but they're not for me.
I’m too cheap/broke to afford one 😂
No ypu aren't....
* ypu= you
I really appreciate you showing the stuff you're not that fond of and things that look 'bad.' I haven't been into drawing for that long, and sometimes I'll draw something I'm proud of and be like, "wow, I'm getting better at this!!" and then immediately do a really crappy sketch n I'm like lol nvm. Thank you!! I think it's good for me to show the bad, because it makes me more comfortable showing people my art in real life! It's helped a lot.
I really love watching your videos, especially your sketchbook tours. One thing I finally understood after watching your videos is that i shouldn't procrastinate from drawing, because you said that you would do it when you were young but when you grew older you stopped procrastinating. I love the colors you used and the paintings of veggies and the sandwich at 3:25. Beautiful!! Great sketchbook!
I'm currently using that Strathmore multimedia sketchbook, the paper is really great for pencil, pen, and watercolour in moderation. I haven't tried any other mediums in it yet, but I look forward to seeing what you do with it!
Jellylord has returned! All hail!
Your random pen ideas have some interesting forms, Jellylord
i fell like you are such an underrated artist . you helped my art so much ❤️❤️
I'm so happy to hear that my videos help you!!
man you're good at watercolor colors
Thank you so much! :')
Pretty!!!! I love your art SOOO much, watching your videos is so satisfying!!
Aw thanks!! I'm happy to hear that :)

Ahh thanks!!
That turtle 😍 thanks for the sketchbook tour , it was fun and inspiring
YAY! So cool! I wish I could finish so many sketchbooks within a year omg
the first pages are so stunning, the entire sketchbook is so beautiful !!
I'm looking forward for whem my sketchs are this good
I enjoy my moleskine watercolour sketchbook. 😊 The pages seem to handle watercolour just fine.
I've heard good things about the watercolour one! I'll have to try it some day if I'm willing to spend the money
yeah I have one too and it´s wonderful!
I specifically use the pocket sized one for travel journals. They are perfect for that! (The size, the quality, the pocket at the back, the nice elastic to keep it all together.) I find the expense is worth it for travel journals, because you can treasure the memories in them.

You really have gotten super good at interpreting animals, and you're color choices are great too. Can't wait to see more of that in the next one.
I love the coloured birds at 3:06.

The pumpkin girl
Thank you!! 🎃
"Oh this page is upside down. Wonderful." 😂😂😂
I have gotten a canson graphite sketchbook and it curiously takes wet medium and ink extremely well. I’m gonna put watercolor in the next pages for sure.

Nice work !! You kept saying you did bad but just remember even if you're not happy with the result, you learn something from every drawing you do.

YAAAAYYYYY another fantabulous video I hope you are having a great day and a peaceful and awesome week
Noo!! It's a plastic egg
Hi i am 12 years old and my drawings are awful is this ok? Will i improve if i keep practicing?
JennyDespot I know I’m probably not the person you wanted to answer this, however I’ll anyways answer. The more you practice the better you get. Also love ur work jel arts! 😁
Do you use reference for the objects animals and buildings, things like that? I used to draw a lot and it was my favourite thing to do, I want to get back into it very badly. I wonder if drawing things ive taken pictures of would help?
I LOVE the food page!
I really like to outline all my sketches in marker some with thick lines some thin that way it gives it some color without coloring the whole sketch
YASS a Sketchbook Tour!! I love your art
I love the pumpkin head girl :D
Your drawings are amazing!!💜💜
I think the point of a sketchbook is to just practice. You can’t put forth your best effort every time you pick up a pencil. I think you are being really hard on yourself...be proud that you filled a sketchbook and kept drawing even when you weren’t inspired.

do you use references on sketching?
or do you make it up??
I love your videos!! And I absolutely love the cute bird in your intro ^ u ^
I've had my sketch book for legit years and it's not even closed to being finished XD Need to step up my game!
Yeyyy a new sketchbook tour
this might be messy, but it's still a good work, especially some of the sketches are very beautiful! I love your sketchbook tours! Could you maybe do a video about basic painting techniques? i think you're REALLY good at painting. It's just an idea though, you don't need to do that if you don't want to of course!
I've never used Watercolor markers so I'm wondering what you recommend? Also what pencils would you recommend?
I love your sketchbook so much! This video was so inspiring :D
I really like your gouache paintings!!! Especially the animal ones! I have that exact same sketchbook and I'm having the samw problem. Are you Canadian? ( just wondering because you said pencil crayon and that’s Canadian )
What kind of materials do you use for sketching because nothing i’ve tried looks good 😓 (but then again, maybe that’s my art😂). I have issues being messy because I love how it looks for other people but I’m a perfectionist for myself.
Finally. A real sketchbook.
Wow... This is amazing, also have you got any more tips on how to stay consistent and keep on drawing even when your having bad days or don't want to?
Thank you! Hmm I guess my biggest tip for that is to find something that you actually want to draw, or try to look at other artists to get in inspired. It can be difficult but if you force yourself, sometimes you're glad you did!
When I got this notification I started screaming yas and my dog woke up
Yay! I love this video, o’ amazing JelLord.
Yess love these tours
Superb👍👍👍👍
ahhhh i can't contain my excitement right now!!!! :D
I like really rough toothycpaper unless I'm using it for water color then I'll find sketch book with thick paper
How did you manage to get the sketchbook to lay flat? X
Hi, random people, I want to ask you a question! I’m looking for a new sketchbook, that has thick paper, and is good for watercolors. Any recommendations? 😀
I suggest you do a seal balancing a ball on its nose for a pain or sticker.
Cool you should try to get yoobi two sided narkers
i watched two of your videos and i am very impressed! your work is amazing. I just don't understand why you criticize yourself so much :( don't do that, girl
a sketchbook exists so you can experiment! it doesn't have to be perfect. it is awesome as it is. Its purpose is to study shapes, color, expression, lighting... anything you wish! don't put yourself down like that
i friggen LOVEE Mary and the witches flower
