Sketchbooks were never fun for me when I was studying art at university because we had to keep copious notes to analyse *everything* in a diary that went with it. 8 years on, I'm slowly un-learning everything that stifled my creativity, and sketch books are suddenly fun. 😁
I'm with you on the Greyhounds, they're lovely dogs. 😊 You may well be able to find a Greyhound rescue because dogs are often surrendered that are too old to race or don't make the grade.

There's plenty of rescue centers here in the States for greyhounds. A lot of them were involved with races and then when they retired or got injured and couldn't race anymore, the owners didn't want them as pets. They were basically treated like objects, which is so incredibly sad. Anywho, I'm sure there's got to be some in Canada somewhere that you can get one from when you're good n ready. Getting a rescue dog is much more special in me own eyes. Lots of people turn away from rescue dogs because they are afraid of where the dog came from and how they'll be. They just wanna be loved is all. I loved your sketchbook tour as always! Lots of good stuff in there. Think I'll try me own hand at drawing some foxes. Tricky lil buggers. x

Something I did recently with a 90 page wirebound sketchbook is undo the binding and rearrange all the old sketches into the back. It felt... cumbersome? to look at all the things I've already drawn when I just want to pick it up and sketch.

I study from other artists, too. I try to write down their names, but unfortunately when I’m sketching I don’t always think to do that. I’m glad to see that other artists do the same. I leave a lot of white space, too. Gotta stop that.

drawing dragons helped me a whole lot with drawing animals. every other animal's body is very simmilar to the dragon's, so it's quite easy after you're used to dragons

Probably around 2 weeks? I'm not sure when exactly people actually receive it but Canada post's estimations are on my shop!

Do you recommend any good ways to use art to make money to BUY actual art supplies? I've been stuck using cheap watercolors just because I don't have enough money to buy anything and I've found myself stuck thinking that I can't draw anything because I don't have enough money to buy a new sketchbook.
