6 months right now. I have some locs that are flattened. People keep saying to palm roll them but it’s not working. I’m not giving up on my babies though lol. I also have color in my locs.
I dyed my hair red before I loc’d and I’m loving the faded, rusted red it’s gone to. I don’t plan on dying it again, for the same reason you are; want it to be healthy as it progresses. I’m 2 1/2 months in and I’ve started budding and I’m loving it. ❤️
Just a little tip for the ladies who like variations of red, you don’t have to bleach repeatedly, they have rinses that just deposit color instead of lifting then depositing, it’s not damaging at all. My favorite brand is Adore
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what, because I'm 11months locked & my locs are still only neck length, but I see yours at shoulder length. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. I only retwist every 3 to 4 months to give my hair time to repair & grow from the last retwist. I'm washing & conditioning my locs once a week. I do hot oil treatments once a month. I'm oiling twice a week. I spray water on them everyday to keep them hydrated. I DRINK TONS & TONS OF WATER EVERYDAY, ALL DAY. My diet consists of fruits veggies & fish. I tie my hair up EVERY NIGHT. Why is. My hair only at my neck when I'm reaching nearly a year locked?
I feel your frustration. I’ve heard many ppl say that you don’t see length until the 2nd year because the first year of the locking process is matting and shrinking. It’ll take some time for your hair to drop but it will happen. You’re not doing anything wrong. Hang in there!
What Rebecca said. Also, Dae is past 2 years locd now. When I was a year locd my locs were neck length too. Now at almost two years they're getting to shoulder length mostly in the back. Don't be discouraged. Take it easy. You're doing great already.
Thank you so much ladies. That makes me feel a little better. I was told by someone before I locked up that I would go thru this phase of thinking that there was little to no progression. Thanks again ladies! ❤
@@KAMALAISHERNAME you're welcome. Hang in there and have fun with accessories (headbands, loc jewelry etc). You'll see the length in no time! ❤️Also, try watching youtubers that have similar length with you. Sometimes all you need is someone to relate to. You are not alone.
@@KAMALAISHERNAME it will be fine, dont think about it. Just love your beautiful hair and let it do its thing. 2 years in, my hair is just resting on my shoulders and I love it.
I love your hair color...... it looks good on you. I must say that your hair is flourishing and grown so long. You are beautiful. Thank you for the video
I colored my hair twice last week😬(from my natural black hair, to beach blonde to ruby red). Uhm... worst mistake!! Before I dyed my hair I retightened my locs and my oh my... They look thin and weak, not to mention the dryness😪. I have lost all my confidence🥲.
You should not have bleach it. It the bleach that damaged the hair. I dye my hair twice without bleach because on Monday I plan to loc my hair. Bleaching damage the hair
Idk i dyed my locs red in January and ive had no issues. I just do protein treatments and condition it when i wash and keep it moisturized several times a week. I use manic panic to refresh thew color and i get no damage because its semipermanent
My red did the same and part of me loves it and part of me wants to dye it red again 😩 its been over a year for me too but im still scared of damage. Might wait until the summer. Love to see your growth ❤️
I just started watching you and now I'm following you your locs are beautiful. I'm just going into this locs journey and I'm starting with two strand twist. You are giving me hope with your locs and tips. 🙂
I want to color my locs but I’m pregnant again. And how postpartum did me on my 2nd baby it’s a no until I have my next baby then maybe 6months after lol. Ya girl had no edges 🥲 your locs are so pretty!
Your hair looks very beautiful and healthy!. I started my locs on 8/1/2021 and i DO NOT PLAN ON DYING EM lol. Mainly because ive dyed my hair soooooooo much when it was loose and i already know tje game wit that. And it is just takes to much work n elbow grease too maintain. Plus my hair becomes to fragile when dyed. For those whos hair can withstand it i think the colorful locs look beautiful.
your locs look so pretty!! 🌹i'm almost 10 months into my journey. i could see myself maybeee coloring my locs a deep burgundy red color mayb e2 or 3 years down the line. i've only colored my hair once though (the same colo i mentioned above) in high school and it made my hair break off a lot. however my hair was very heat damaged at the time so maybe it would be different. although having low porosity hair makes me nervous bc it alrady tends to feel on the drier side. we shall see if the day comes haha.
Your color has faded beautifully! Do u know about the effects of henna on locs?im dealing w gray roots coming in and thinking henna for touching up the edges and roots. I’m not ready for salt n pepper locs
I have used pure henna and indigo on locs... Be ready for time and more time 😂... It is tedious but it definitely works. If you do decide to go this route please make sure you do not want to change the color anytime soon. (To a lighter color) ☺️
Dae, I love u locs n color especially the color i want that exact color u useded n i like u what u said about dying u hair n not dying it again 4 almost 3 yrs can u please tell me what color u started with n the beand I've been watching u video all morning n i havent heard u mention the brand r color Thank u
I feel like the darker your locs are , the easier to see lent being that lent is usually cotton (white) . It’s harder for me to see it in my blonde locs
Love the update, locs are looking beautiful!! I don’t think I will be coloring my locs I natural feel like my hair is more on the dry side. As if I need to always spraying it but I have tried hair paint/wax when I do wanna a little color. I have had ppl ask me if I’ll dye it cuz I have grays in the front but at this point no I’m accepting my hair for what it is for the most part.
Can redye the ends of your locs that’s already dyed? I died my once and that was a year ago and I’m ready for a new color but my hairdresser is saying if I re-dye the part of locs that’s already I’m not guaranteed to get the color I want ( which was a honey blonde/ginger) because the bleach will dry out and potentially make my locs fall out. Is this true? Should ego d someone else that can color my locs the way I want. I don’t fully believe I just think she not as experienced with locs?
I definitely agree with you. The color damaged my locs as well. The only problem I have now is.. I'm older, I hate my gray edges. Don't want to color them.. what should I do?🙄
Girlll I just dyed my ends red ombre last night and I have gray edges haha and salt and pepper ish locs in black part of the locs 😄....it's an interesting look. I was actually trying to dye my eyebrows red too but it didn't take but maybe that's a good thing cause of these grey edges prob wouldn't match 😄.
Hair update! How’s everybody doing?

Love your loc Journey. Our hair os around the same length.
When you first started did you deal with a lot of unraveling ? I got thick locs and always deal with it

Thank you, love the information. Your makeup is beautiful.

Beautiful! Idk why but I'm obsessed with red locs although I know it doesn't last
So pretty! Love it! I’ll be doing the same color once I hit my year 😁
Your locs are beautiful and healthy looking ! 👍💖
I didn’t think I would line blue but it actually turned out sooo good on me
What gel do you use for your edges
Can redye the ends of your locs that’s already dyed? Heyyyy! I love your hair. How many locs do you have? That is the look that I'm going for.
Every time i dye my locs 3rv plum from clarion it always comes out way lighter than the color on the box and I can’t figure out why
Which dye brands don't require bleach? Any that you can recommend?
I loveeee color but I also hate growing it out...so natural color for me a long while lmaooooo
I definitely agree with you. The color damaged my locs as well. The only problem I have now is.. I'm older, I hate my gray edges. Don't want to color them.. what should I do?🙄

Thank you so much!
Beautiful 😍
What camera are you using?
Don’t tempt me 😩 I’ve never colored my hair 🤩
Leave it alone! 😂💗
I suggest look for no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.
😍
Is 27 locs ok?
Of course as long as they aren’t too heavy for your edges, it’s perfectly fine
@@daelocs Hi! How many locs do you have?
Hey Sis.
What did you use for your locs to grow so much in the first months?.
