Between Oli’s bubble perm and CiCi’s leg warmers I was transported back to the early 80s. Great playing as usual from Cici and she brings so much joy and lightness to a room.
I've heard her play slap several times- she's rather good at it. Nothing wrong with slap bass gentleman- everything has its place and time to shine. I prefer Tool or Puscifer style bass, but that's just my personal taste. But hey- Victor Wooten, Bernard Edwards, Bootsy Collins, Flea, Marcus Miller- they all loved slap and they're all legends man- I'm not about to pretend they didn't know what they were doing or that their playing wasn't "musical"- that's ridiculous.
I just got the fuzz yesterday, and I'm super impressed. With the fuzz set at minimum it makes for a very gnarly overdrive, one of the coolest bass sounds I've gotten in a while. The Driver is on my radar next! Also huge shout to Cici for nailing the Cochise riff at the start, what a pull.
Others have beat me to it, but Cici's playing is not only really nice, but what she chooses to play brings out the quality of the pedal. She's as good as anybody who does demos and she should be doing more.
Considering the lack of bass pedals as opposed to guitar pedals, would be cool to see a series where different types of guitar pedals were tested for suitability in a bass rig.
I second this, i wanna buy some bass pedals in the future but have no idea whats suitable and what to buy and this channel is 99% guitar so for a bass player its kinda hopeless i wish they did more bass stuff WE DO EXIST😂
I don't even play bass (can't be that hard, it's less strings! 😋), but would be cool to know if I bought one whether my Muff, Rat or SD-1 might work well for different situations, or equally as valuable, if the frequency range is unsuitable.
@ Any guitar pedal will work for bass. There are no rules that say otherwise. Some pedals might be tailored for bass, but that's mostly just EQ in a lot of cases. It really just depends on what you want. If it sounds good, it IS good.
Loving this review. Just a heads up, the BLEND control is only controlling the volume of the Dry/clean path. It doesn't change the level of the gain/compression.

Cici hits the strings like they owe her money! hellyeah!
Amazing playing from Cici as always ❤️shout out for Sire too,I own that same bass and it’s the business,I’ve had Mexican,Japanese and American P and J bass’s and the neck on that Sire is the best hands down.
The Drive especially sounds WONDERFUL on guitar. The clean blend get's you some really awesome edge of breakup/crisp but still biting tones. The Drive circuit has a dual clipping diode system as well, so if you play softly your signal is cleaner, and when you dig in hard it kicks in a second layer of clipping. Super dynamic.. I personally love it with finger picking on guitar.
The fuzz sounds great! But sounds like its way to noisy and feedbacky when notes stop (I know fuzzes make a lot of noise) but it seems a bit to uncontrollable? Shame as the playing sounds seem like what I'm looking for
I'm still wondering why Cici did not make such overview about bass gear alone (sorry guys). She is a great player and deserve more self explanation in the gear 😉I think she is here only to play bass and not so much in the explanation side. Sad.....
I have two Fender Pedals, the Santa ana and the reflecting pool. The pedals are fine, but the switches are from a very special place from the bottom of some Chinese basement. Just was wondering if these are the same trash.
i use the hello cat pedal on my bass pedal board and it's strikingly similar to this minus a couple features but not part of their bassman pedal lineup. particularly good for muse stuff haha
Surely there must be a chick in the UK who can actually play to demo gear for you guys. Also please rig her up with a short scale bass. Nothing personal. She seems to be a lovely girl.
So for over $500 you can buy all these pedals collectively, when all or most of these pedals could have probably collectively all been been put into a single small enclosure for half the price? Way to go Fender. Thanks for adding to the glut pedal market. 😂

I’m not in the market for any pedals right now, but I always enjoy and admire CiCi’s playing and her genuine personality. She’s the real deal.
Been waiting AGES for this review! SO STOKED!
Absolutely loved these pedals!!
Love it when Cici demo's gear - all classic and heavy riffs, none of this slap nonsense =)
Exactly, slap bass is so unmusical lol.

@@reginaldbowls7180 That's like saying drums are unmusical
Some love slap, more power to them. For me, I hate it!
Come for the pedal demos, stay for Cici's wonderful playing. Didn't think i needed reverb for bass but might need to reconsider.
So great to see Cici doing a review video, absolute THUNDER as always!
I just got the fuzz yesterday, and I'm super impressed. With the fuzz set at minimum it makes for a very gnarly overdrive, one of the coolest bass sounds I've gotten in a while. The Driver is on my radar next!

fender pedals are seriously underrated. The hammertone series is also great
Can we get a bonus episode where Pete plugs a guitar into these? And maybe some other bass pedals
Cici just casually busting out Ride The Lightning with the drive. Killer 🤘🤘
Mungo Jerry and Cici - Great Team doing the demos. Love the reverb and the delay mix with the comp. Very cool - Thank you!
Cici literally blew me away with the Hysteria riff on the fuzz. Holy cow that was great.
It really isn't hard to do.
I was expecting Def Leppard!
Others have beat me to it, but Cici's playing is not only really nice, but what she chooses to play brings out the quality of the pedal. She's as good as anybody who does demos and she should be doing more.
I didn’t think I needed a fuzz until I heard this pedal! Great video🙌🏼👍🏼🎸
Well done Fender, Anderson's and Cici ... Hysteria rocked!
That bass riff on delay reminded me Steven Wilson.
Cici and Ollie do some great presentations, we need more😬
great review and the format worked great... more like this please!
Love the reverb and compression. Spaced out. 😊 that bass is extremely lovely too.
great vid guys, loved the reverb and the delay.

I played guitar for 20 years before I picked up the bass so luckily I had a pretty good pedal collection already to try out on bass. 😉
Absolute need this video!

Have Cici recreate her pedalboard on a budget, please.
Kicking off with a bit of audioslave. Love it
9:07 That is really clean playing! Sick! Those pedals sound great too.
ride the lightning! looks effortless for her as well lol
I love the Fuzz pedal!
on the compressor pedal, I wish you had also turned the blend control down to smaller values for once to exclude more of the direct signal.
I have the compressor. It's great!
Well done Cici !!
Loving this review. Just a heads up, the BLEND control is only controlling the volume of the Dry/clean path. It doesn't change the level of the gain/compression.
Cici hits the strings like they owe her money! hellyeah!
That sounded fantastic.
I love the coloured knobs
Cici, just so likeable and pulls out the most tasty licks suited to the gear. Great player.
Amazing playing from Cici as always ❤️shout out for Sire too,I own that same bass and it’s the business,I’ve had Mexican,Japanese and American P and J bass’s and the neck on that Sire is the best hands down.
Just wonder are any useable on guitar as well?

Why have Fender never done a Bassman Chorus?
Reverb please!
Hysteria is always my go to riff for any bass drive testing
Me too.
I like to see how driven/fuzzy it can go and still keep the clarity.
Ride the lightning! Fuck yeaaaaaah!
Good sounding fuzz. I wonder how it would sound with guitar…
need to get Oz to test it's doom capabilities
decent prices on those. Cool.
The fuzz sounds great! But sounds like its way to noisy and feedbacky when notes stop (I know fuzzes make a lot of noise) but it seems a bit to uncontrollable?
Shame as the playing sounds seem like what I'm looking for
That's how you demo with the bass!
Cici forever.
Not sure I like the toothpaste tube top controls, but interested in the sound
Cici is so wonderful 😍🔥
80s leg warmers are coming back , does anyone remember the Snoods or those hair band feelers
That fuzz kills
Digging the Blood Sugar Sex Magick riff, with the fuzz.
I have a boss fender bassman pedal
I'm still wondering why Cici did not make such overview about bass gear alone (sorry guys). She is a great player and deserve more self explanation in the gear 😉I think she is here only to play bass and not so much in the explanation side. Sad.....
Sometimes i think cicibass has a vibe of geddy lee when she start playing the first note
Wow this chick has mad skills on the bass. And the ankle sock things are sick too.
So the video is very nicely done; However, the compressor pedal is disappointing compared to Ashdown amplifiers
Killer 🤘🏻
Cici is great. That bass guitar makes her look like a hobbit.
Will they follow in the footsteps of the Bassman amps and be adopted by guitar players and abandoned by bassists?
I was curious how the reverb sounds with a guitar
the driver sounds seriously great. the rest is passable.
i almost fainted, i thought there was going to be a silverface bassman preamp style pedal.
Interesting! He looks like Scott Henderson when he was young!😅
Is him Olly thrash? The english version of rikkkkki thrash?
We need more Bass please incredible playing at 9.00 'Metallica'
Thank the maker there is simply not enough pedals on the market already. Thankfully someone has stepped in to fill that gap in the market.
£100 is budget now?
Cici , play some rush
I have two Fender Pedals, the Santa ana and the reflecting pool. The pedals are fine, but the switches are from a very special place from the bottom of some Chinese basement. Just was wondering if these are the same trash.
Pedals look more beautiful these days.
Because we all buy pedals because of how they look now 😂😂😂
No Hello Kitty fuzz?
i use the hello cat pedal on my bass pedal board and it's strikingly similar to this minus a couple features but not part of their bassman pedal lineup. particularly good for muse stuff haha
So many pedals Brands doing the same effects
Think Ollie needs some pedal dialing training
I noticed he didn’t exactly understand the blend knob feature particularly on the drive pedal
Cici ! are you going to play in daves new band redgiant ??
Highly unlikely, I would think.
@@Aidenbro-s2k why??
My name a jeff
GO AND SAVE YOURSELF
Yeah... yeah... he he... yeah... yeah
Please change back whatever you have done to the video quality.
Fuzz on a bass has never sounded right to my ears.
Same really, I like a driving heavy bass sound like JJ Burrell out of The Stranglers or Bruce Foxton but actual fuzz seems to lose definition
First
Surely there must be a chick in the UK who can actually play to demo gear for you guys. Also please rig her up with a short scale bass. Nothing personal. She seems to be a lovely girl.
Point out timing or technique mistakes
Joke of a comment...
She's an excellent bassist but I don't think she likes to show off. Could you suggest some techniques or basslines you'd like to hear?

it's almost as if Fender was a for-profit company and not a charity
So... The Fender Downtown Express ? Drive, EQ and Compression in one.
There is way to much choice nowadays to complain
@ has and some would call that "redundancy"..LOL
