I have made these pickles so many times. Thank you for sharing. They are the best and you are awesome. I love your channel every recipe you’ve made I make and I bought both of your cookbooks. They are my favorite cookbooks. You’re such a talented author and your recipes have never steered me wrong, thank you for all your hard work. 🎉
Maangchi. As much as I love your recipes, I love your family stories even more. How wonderful to hear about your Mom and how she influenced you to make this recipe. It's so nice to hear of the history and fun that went into making such great treats. Food is so much about family and you bring that to life in all of your videos. That is the gift you give to me. Thank you!
She's honestly so cute, I can't. Her imitating her mom was hilarious. And also, this recipe fits well with my patience level, or the lack of it😋 I'm going to try it.

I rewatched this video, because now I am preparing this Jangajji. Thank You very much for everything. I am a hungarian living in Romania, and in love with Korean culture (doramas, k-pop, history etc,). We tasted kimchi thanks to your recipe, so you brought in our homes the korean gastronomy. Thank You again! :-)

Maangchi should have her own TV show on food network where she sits down with family or friends after working so hard and we get to watch them all enjoy her delicious cooking.
I love listening to people's stories. The internet makes it possible to hear about people I never could have known of before it! It feels like having friends far away.
Hello everyone. I made this yesterday and it is very good! I used carrot instead of daikon. I also added half a teaspoon of mustard seed and half a tablespoon of regular dried chili flakes (not the Korean kind) to each of the jars because I didn't have any hot peppers. Very delicious and tasty. Good for using up leftover veggies.
Hello maa!!! Your recipes r awesome as always, but when u tell us about ur family stories ur food test's much much better to me. When u tell us about ur grandmother and ur mom i wish to see them. Give my love & respect to them. I feel like they r as sweeeeeet as u maa. With best wishes & love, Shoshi from Bangladesh. See u next time, Bye!!!!
I am always expressing my love and appreciation for Maangchi, I also wanted to thank whoever has loyally recorded these videos all these years! They are always so beautifully done, lit and edited. Thank you for all of your hard work!
This made my mouth water so much, I made it as soon as I was done watching the video. I've been eating some of it already, even though it's not done yet. It's so good and addicting! Thank you for finding the recipe and sharing it with us.
I just made this yesterday morning, and it was easy, fast, and soooo tasty! I had my doubts, honestly, because Maangchi kept saying it was "sweet", which is a turn off for me, but this is only very slightly sweet which rounds out the vinegary pickle flavor very nicely. This recipe will definitely become a regular in my repertoire. I went to a Latino market, and they don't know nothing about no Korean or Daikon radish, so I used the regular ol' small red radishes and they worked beautifully, I just cut them in half. Perfect bite size. The celery was also delicious. And, it was actually delicious even before the 12 hours were up - yeah, I couldn't wait. Thank you Maangchi for sharing all your recipes and stories. I love this story of your mom!! Thank you thank you thank you.
You are such a sweet lady. I could watch and listen to you all day. I love watching you cook and talk more than I love your recipes. Love from India. ❤️
I fell in love with your tutorials thé first time I came across your videos. Not only you are very patient and calm with your fans, I can really tell you feel joy when cooking and that the food is tasty. So yeah, you're amazing and Im now obssesed with kimchi.
Maangchi!!! Thank you so much for this recipe! H Mart used to have these pickles made with just garlic and Jalapeños and I looovvved them so much. But they stopped making them and I had been trying to find that taste for so long. I just tried this recipe, and this brine is the same brine that they must have used for those pickles!!! Thank you for helping me find a lost treasure! I will be making these from now on! So so so good!
I always thank you for your Easy but Tasty recipes!
i thought about who that LA person you mentioned at the start of video might be... it was your mom! your anecdote with mother melts my heart!!!
I love hearing the stories behind your recipes! They're always so interesting! And I have some celery sitting in my refrigerator right now, so this is perfect! Thank you Maangchi!
Hi Maangchi I love pickled vegetables so I would enjoy this. In Australia we have always had pickled cucumbers and mustard pickled vegetables which I love. They are really good also if your taste buds are jaded from a drinking session the night before. Thanks for the delightful post.
I loved this video so much. Thank you for sharing. I make your recipes for my daughter and myself. Although we have no Korean ancestry, I am a huge fan of Korean food. After living in Seoul for almost a decade, I fell in love with Korean cuisine. I had no one to teach me. Your information is invaluable, thank you Maangchi.
I just put together a batch!!! Used daikon and added carrots to the mix. Can't wait for this to cool down and chill in the fridge! It's going to be sooo good with ramyun!!! Much love from Boise, ID!
Hi Maangchi!I just made this last night and it was SO HARD!........to WAIT until the next morning! I just had some this morning and it is so GOOD! Very easy to make! Thank you for sharing your mother's recipe with us!

So she told me I wrote it down and she said “Remember KNEAD KNEAD KNEAD!” Lol She she called me later and asked how it went I said it went Fantastic. Everyone loved the rolls and finished them all. LoL Then she said “Thats because you KNEAD KNEAD KNEADED them” I laugh so much went i remember this. Thanks for another yummy recipe. Blessings 🙏❤️
Happy to hear that! I always make this pickle with new brine. Boil the leftover old brine, cool it down, put it into a glass jar, and refrigerate it. You can use it for dipping sauce or season your side dishes.
Maangchi! Your story about this recipe is very funny, because my daughters call me all the time and ask about recipes from their childhood days and often I say "Are you positive I made that? lol. And then after a few minutes I remember. Some of them I haven't made in years and years, yet when I remember I can't imagine why I stopped making it. I'm glad you have your mum to call. That's lovely. 💖 Jenn 💖 in Canada 🍁 just along the 401E from To in Kingston.
I wonder if this would be good as a garden mix? In the US garden mix is mostly cauliflower, with carrots, and sweet peppers. I love soy sauce on broccoli, so I think it would taste nice. Thanks for the super easy recipe! ♥️

I love pickled vegetables! I had to pause the video to get ingredients from the store because I was so excited!
Checking in from LA! My aunt makes this with chayote, radish, and onions! So good.
Yes, some Korean immigrants use chayote even though chayote is not used in traditional Korean cooking. It tastes so crispy.

Your chuckle, reminiscing about your mother, was so sweet. 😄
I love hearing the stories behind your recipes! They're always so interesting! And I have some celery sitting in my refrigerator right now, so this is perfect! Thank you Maangchi!
This is the 1st Korean recipe I’ve ever seen using celery!!! I bet it’s good
I just had Korean BBQ today. I love this side dish. That’s why I am here. Love your recipe and story.

Much love from Boise, ID!
yum yum!
그리고 밥짓는 동영상에 누룽지 설명도 있어요. ruclips.net/video/5JZs0wNKYY4/видео.html
Maangchi, I just wanted to say thank you for your recipes. You are so adorable.

Made it and taste much better than the restaurant!! If you want to make from old brine do u reheat first?
Happy to hear that! I always make this pickle with new brine. Boil the leftover old brine, cool it down, put it into a glass jar, and refrigerate it. You can use it for dipping sauce or season your side dishes.
Thank you for sharing both the recipe and the beautiful story about your mom it made me smile. Thanks 💖💖💖

I love story time :0) I'd listen to Maangchi talk about anything.

I wonder if this would be good as a garden mix? In the US garden mix is mostly cauliflower, with carrots, and sweet peppers. I love soy sauce on broccoli, so I think it would taste nice.
Thanks for the super easy recipe! ♥️
Ane any hearty veggies that won't get too mushy works.
