      The FN 2000 is more iconic to me. It's replicating an M4 inside a futuristic shell, whilst being a bull-pup with a unique spent-case travel to the front. Beautiful.

      @georgezachos7322 Год назад +9

    • @Guido_XL
      @Guido_XL Год назад +29

      @@georgezachos7322 That's because we grew accustomed to the looks of an M4/AR15 as a "de facto" standard assault rifle. Movies and TV series have popularised that appearance, imprinting it upon our common perception of how a typical assault rifle ought to look. The P90 stands out with its deviating design.
      We could say the same about the Steyr AUG. It's from the 1970's and still looks almost futuristic, albeit not in the same way as the P90.

      Cool as it is, an M4 is better in a firefight. A P90 isn't going to be better at penetrating, if both are using green tips.
      And the ammo is stupid expensive, so no military is going to make it standard issue, it just doesn't make sense from a logistical standpoint. It's a weapon for rich people to kit out their private security forces with, pretty much.
      Not to mention, in a combat situation, you run out of ammo, then what? The enemy isn't carrying 5.7x28 rounds; they're carrying 5.56, or more likely; 7.62.
      Fact is, if you had one of those in Afghanistan; and actually needed it, you probably weren't walking out of that situation. You're going to get much more accuracy out of an M4 because of the overall length; and heftier projectile.

      What I particularly enjoyed about it was that he said it in such a... clever way. Instead of left-handed versus right-handed, it's WRONG-handed versus RIGHT-handed, which ENTIRELY changes the meaning of 'right.' I thought it was very clever and witty. Though that said, even though I do tend to view left-handedness as a drawback and an unfortunate thing regardless of US presidents, I really have nothing against left-handers like Ned Flanders. I just find this banter to be funny, perhaps much like racial banter. I have a friend, haven't seen him in many years. Still regard him as the closest I have to a brother, and if he contacted me to hide a body I seriously would have to think about it as to whether I'd do it or not. Either I would and wouldn't say anything, or I wouldn't and would also not say anything, but in all likelihood... yeah, I'd go. Maybe if the body was partially-rotten I'd actually be skeptical out of fear I may vomit.
      And he's a Native mother fucker who used to kick my ass at first-person shooters which I'm actually pretty darn good at. Which honestly wasn't annoying, at least only mildly at most, and resulted in LOTS of jokes and funny instances. Seriously. Even now over 15 years later, when we meet again, I'm certain I'll bring up the same old gaming memories and we'll both still laugh and it will be genuine even after it's happened 4 times or so.
      And yeah he'd laugh his ass off when I, a SEVERELY White man, calls him a 'Native mother fucker,' which is really not different from me calling a Black dude a 'Black mother fucker' or a Black dude calling a White guy 'White Mother fucker.' Because it's not from a place of hate. It's from a place of banter and love and being over-the-top and enjoyably politically incorrect and just HAVING FUN! We're even so close that there's been jokes about Stephen Lynch's song 'If I Were Gay,' which implies that if we were gay we'd be screwing, but we're not gay so we don't do sexual stuff but if we were we might. It's all quite comical and jokey, not serious. I am actually bisexual but I'm big and masculine and dominant and am only interested in smaller/submissive/effeminate males. My Native friend is VERY masculine and is a father, possibly twice-over or even more. Looking forward to meeting the whole family for the first time someday though I don't know when it will be.
      And in the many years we were close friends and shared very personal and sometimes tearful experiences, even if a year or two went by without seeing each other... when we met up again after so long, it's like it's only been days or weeks. I'm still me, he's still him, his partner is still herself, and we just slip into conversation like no time had passed. It's more extreme now, they're parents and their oldest can probably talk by now. LOTS has changed... but I still am faithful like in years past when we meet again, we'll meet, we'll hug, we'll drink, have a riot, I MIGHT get emotional at how long it has been and at how much I missed him and his longtime gf who I hope becomes his wife and now he's a father with a child or children and hearing updates of everyone... ugh, I should stop, could get emotional while writing this message. I'm not usually emotional but this has been a REALLY damn difficult day and I'm drinking and actually became kind of a serious alcoholic and blah blah blah, life happens and it's not all roses and sunshine.
      Take care of yourself, drink responsibly, and be open to feelings of sympathy and/or empathy. God bless.

It was branded the RCP-90 in that game; same gun, different name, different paint scheme. It was the most sought-after power weapon there was. Once you got it, you were essentially unstoppable. You could just weave and fire, and absolutely own your friends, knowing they'd be unable to match you in damage, let alone ammo capacity. And you could *dual wield* them. It was the great equalizer.

    the reason the P90 is so much prefered by all the movie companies is for the simple reason that the casings are ejected downwards and even hard to notice on screen. basically every other gun ejects sideways. that is very noticable and when the actors are fighting in close quarters like a corridor, the casings went flying against faces and down the neck. as funny as a cursing and jumping actor might be on the behind the scenes footage, producers hate the light burn injuries and all the breaks because of that.

    Something else interesting about 5.7 is the case body is perfectly straight so it can fit nicely in a perfectly rectangular magazine. Normally, this would cause extraction issues, so it has a hard wax coating that melts under the heat of firing and lubricates extraction. This is actually the exact same thing done on the .276 Pedersen for the delayed blowback Pedersen rifle.

    • @crowe6961
      @crowe6961 Год назад

      Swear to God it still causes extraction issues in some of the 5-7 pistols floating around. When they work, they feel you're shooting an accurate .22 pistol with basically no recoil, good effect on target, and it's like a dream. But I can trust an old-school, all-metal Beretta 92 variant in bog-standard 9x19 to go bang more reliably as long as it doesn't have thousands upon thousands of rounds through it already.

    • @ionstorm66

      @@crowe6961 Thanks for the reply, Crowe. I suppose it depends where you are when looking for 5,7mm ammo. I was in Florida, US recently, and the guy in the gun shop showed me shelves full of FN 5,7mm ammo. When I asked him about supply problems, he was quite mystified. He said he had another pallet full of ammo in the strongroom! As for temperamental, he says at their range they have pretty much the same experience as with other calibres (provided you use the correct ammo). El cheapos that are not properly lubricated did sometimes cause problems. The main reason for opting for 5,7mm is that is is just more effective than 9mm, and much easier to shoot accurately - this is a fact.
      Agreed, 9mm is more popular, easier to obtain ammo, and usually very reliable (I myself was a Browning Hi-Power owner for decades).
