Known for as movies such as The Avengers (with Marvel Studios), Mission Impossible, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters and Star Trek (1979-1994)

1986-1999 was the best era of the logo.
I love the 2002 logo the most.
The vast majority of the films Paramount acquired in the Viacom and Spelling mergers as well as when they started distributing the library of Rysher Entertainment and then the 2019 merger of Viacom and CBS (both outright ownership and TV/streaming rights only) were released prior to the adoption of the Viacom byline on the Paramount logo.
Thus, Paramount should attach period logos to these films (they've actually done it in a few instances), to make it seem as if Paramount originally released these movies in the first place.
This should also be done with the Miramax library.

Founded in 1911 as the Famous Players-Lasky company. The first Paramount movies came in 1912. They also had a subsidiary, Artcraft Pictures, in the 1910's and 20's. Some films of that era were billed with both names. One of the last studios to cease production in New York in the early 30's, but they'd also been making films in Hollywood.

Paramount seems to lack a long term recognizable 'theme' which makes it immediately recognizable. Universal. 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Columbia & Walt Disney all seem to have this.

After doing some research i noticed the 1992 clip is incorrect, viacom came about a year later in 1993 not 1992 :)
Early 1995 actually. Other mistakes abound:
the logos he captioned from 1987-89 (1:43, 2:00, 2:16) are all actually the same 1990 version of the logo.
For 1988 and most of '89, the version of the late 1986 logo (Gulf+Western byline) was used, but w/o the 75th Anniversary legend; while late in '89, the same logo had the same Paramount Communications byline (1990-95) version, but in gold.
