    nice video Sir, Thank you very much. I have a stock variator (& clutch) on a (139qmb)I'm running almost full diameter/lenght on the variator side, kind of scary keep adjusting it cause I dont want the belt fall off 😅.
    *Tao Tao 139qmb - with BBK , stock: clutch, variator, cam, carburetor , still runs 42mph, I weight approx 205lbs

      Are you sure your belt is the right size? Sounds like the belt could be a few mm too long and not dropping all the way down into the rear (clutch). Also how thin is the belt? It should be about 28mm wide I think. A narrow or worn belt could be an issue also.

    Draw around it so you have a accurate size and don't over do it

    Hey I don't know if you read these, I have a very similar bike, it's not a mad dog but it's definitely a clone, I have pictures of it but I guess that's irrelevant on here, I didn't realize it when I bought it but one of my headlights are damaged and I don't know how to find replacement headlights for this thing nor does the people that I bought it from, also I'm about to get a big bore kit for it I've installed those in the past on old bikes, my exhaust is different from yours as well I'm thinking that there's baffles in it that I need to knock out? Need your advice on that, I was thinking about rejecting the carburetor but after watching this video I'm interested in that carburetor you're speaking of I might as well just replace it with a quality one, for an instance the idle screw on this thing is a pain in the ass I don't get why they did it like they did but it's not like most mopeds... I'm an experienced rider and I also have an '99 Vulcan 800 and an '06 Ninja 250r, I actually bought this moped for a friend, but the relationship didn't work out and she couldn't drive the thing worth a damn anyway so it was unsafe for her to own... I'd like to use it as a backup source of transportation because my truck's constantly messing up and I've had issues with my Vulcan lately and currently my Ninja needs work as well, so yeah any advice on this particular bike would help me out

      @ryandavis4689 I'm not reading this one...it's too long. LOL. Just kidding. Headlight is easy. Just get a LED one off ebay or AliExpress. It will be 12v DC so you may need to tap into a DC wire if yours has an AC headlight. I have few videos showing how. Just measure what you need and start shopping. You can usually find ones that fit on AliExpress. They are food about showing measurements. Is it a 50cc or 150? You def want to upgrade the carb and make the exhaust free flowing if you do the big bore. Even without a big bore those would be great mods.

      Hmm. That's a really good idea. Why not? Cause I didn't even think of it. LOL. I have a huge press at the shop that will flatten nickles. I would not even have to head it. I could just press it a couple of mm. Damn. Thanks!

      @@Donbscooters757 that is so subjective. It all depends on your weight and power output and terrain you ride. Try some different ones and see what you like best.

    I Must of missed this video knowing you have a tool shop take the high point on variator down on your lathe so they come closer together why not have a go at casting your own stuff

      Another great idea. I like your flattening the ramp idea best. I can handle that. Then I could use that NCY variator on the cheap.

      @randyalmonte1431 I think it will. When I get the one for this bike I will make a video of any issues.

      @randyalmonte1431 honestly I have not tried anything but stock ones yet. I think I want to try that rolling wrench Reveno dirtbike style clutch in the 150, but super expensive. I have not researched the 50 clutches too much yet.

    What’s your belt size ?

    • @GhettoWrench
      @GhettoWrench  4 месяца назад

      @sethaustin5086 maddogs are strange. The case is actually "extra long" so it takes a 788-18-30 belt. That is the only size I have ever used on the 50s
