I love the fact that it's a warframe primer and that it's not supposed to be a dps weapon (people are crying about it already.) I hope that DE adds more books so I can force a poor crewman to read my fanfiction (It literally shocks them)

Yea this was my favourite weapon before it even came out, I love the concept of using a secondary to buff your frame, and I read hours every day, so I was really looking forward to this. Im also calling mine "Yuri Fanfic"

The biggest 'issue' I have with it (and it's barely an issue really) is that it doesn't do void damage. Like come on DE. This is the ONE weapon where innate void damage makes perfect sense.
Should at least do true damage
Use it with Xaku to add void dmg, that's what I've been doing!

You know what would be a cool mechanic for Tomes to have? If by pressing the reload button, you turn a page and switch the Tome's mod loadout to the next one saved in your Arsenal's loadouts
I would prefer to just close the book and whack enemies with it
honestly, i was expecting the grimoire to be similar to kitguns and zaws, to build in different varieties, spells and builds with different elements and buffs, but it is a new and interesting mechanic added, love it
All I see it just a secondary with unlimited ammo that primarily electric damage.
I like your idea, it make sense since it a Magic book with many pages of who knows what

just make it modular, like costing resource to slot page and make page change how primary and secondary fire works.

Its really good hearing your opinion on the grimoire, alot of other WF youtubers are dunking on it for not being a room-clearing nuker. If it's fun then it is a good weapon, end of discussion.

The grimoire can buff your frame, so if you suck at the game, you'll just suck while being buffed so try not to oust yourself like this next time
I wish they let us equip it _and_ a regular secondary, like in the mission. That actually felt so nice to jump between 4 different weps that can be built for different situations

but i really hate how there is already people saying its a bad weapon so glad i can just use this weapon for the energy and ignore people
The grimoire has quickly become my favorite secondary. It's absolutely not as strong for damage or status as other options I have, but it has something more important. It's fun and feels good to use, especially with the energy regen utility and ability to buff newbies in lower end missions.
Something I found out about this weapon is that its alt fire randomly does headshots, which makes it a crit beast with the headshot crit mods. This can also be nice for that one arcane that increases secondary damage on headshots. Though it's not going to primarily be dealing headshot damage so it's not all that good for something like secondary deadhead, instead I like to use cascadia overcharge but it doesn't need it at all. (Also galv shot doesn't work on alt fire so keep that in mind)
Things I tested:
- More hits = faster charge rate for the secondary fire. Fire rate is your best friend here.
- the exilus effects has to be triggered using the Grimoire. Melee kills or other kills won’t trigger them.
- the fire rate buff from the Lohk Canticle (exilus) mod also applies to yourself, which makes it the only dps boosting canticle mod.
- you can retrigger and therefore stack the effects of the Invocation mods using the same enemy despite the description saying “for each enemy hit”
- There seems to be no multiple projectiles (not even visible with Magnum Force) even when you have higher multishot.
- Punch through doesn’t work outright. The projectiles just stop and explode at the first enemy they hit.
- the electricity proc from the secondary fire does *not* activate Archon Stretch
- the secondary fire will properly proc whatever elements you modded on the weapon
- Energizing Shot works for the primary fire (though not sure if it works just on the direct hit and not its 1m explosion) but *not* for the secondary fire.
I wish they would buff the fire rate a little but besides that awesome and cool weapon! Can't wait to see more Tomes in the future.

put arcane velocity on your frame. It gives the weapon 120% increase fire rate on top of lethal torrent on an infinite clip weapon, it destroys and you get your alt fire in about 5 sec consecutively
The Grimoire is indeed a really fun -gun- secondary weapon and I'd love to see more like it at some point.

I would love the grimoire to have different stance animation, like one that it's floating on your side while you cast with both hands, i feel like it gives options for fun animations.
I immidietly renamed it to Grimoire Weiss. Unfortunetly it doesnt speak at all :(
This is an interesting weapon. It's damage can be nice, been running radiation and cold, but it's supportive capabilities to you and teammates can be super handy! Very interested to see if they do more of these types of weapons. Thanks for the helpful video MC!
I've been running Radiation+Corrosive. Makes it pretty good against armored targets, and the alt-fire can proc 3 statuses in a good area (since it force-procs electric).
The different page polarities are probably going to be something they lean into more with future Tomes being more suited to different ones.

IKKKK, me to. Im personably using wisp with one of the plat skins and it fits the vibe, its also nice for ability spamming abilities and keeping gloom up.
Maybe wisp with her skin kinda look witch hat n all for now? Would be cool to see a witch or warlock warframe added 😮

Personally, my only issue with the grimoire is cosmetic, and it is that wisp noble animation looks really weird while holding, and she sprints on the ground with it. And I am only disappointed because the coven skin for wisp goes so well with a spellcaster/wizard aesthetic.
normally I can understand the different polarities on frames. D tends to be non-offensive buffs like armor, shields, rolling guard, and non-offensive nightmare mods. V tend to be offensive, and - is kinda utility. But then with weapons that whole just gets thrown out, especially with the Tome mods

I didnt saw the art whe nthey talked about em but now that i see them i feel so happy cus i forsaw that when the tome was showcased in the reveal. this weapon type is amazing and i would love to have the whole shabang of magic items: rods, rings, oh imagine syandanas with actual abilities or uses added onto them like cloaking syandanas and all sorts of cool things, man this game is just getting beter and better. tx for the vid yo!
If you are complaining about the damage this puts out you need to broaden your playstyle. It's that simple.
the damage variant seems very underwhelming but as a support tool this thing slaps
good stuff and informative. THis is was helpful in building out the Grimoire. I have noticed though this is REALLY rough on the new enemy tips. I am going to have to play around with the elemental types to see what is going to be efficient to do farming runs againt the murmurs and things. I do like the secondary weapon though but the alt fire just seems useless and it is SLOW as hell.
What I'm seeing is another tool to add to my Roar Wisp. Probably energy regen / orbs? Will have to tinker, but she gives massive attack rate anyway, so the slower speed will be less of an issue on her.

Edit: I think DE missed a trick where this could have been a weapon for operator/drifter to increase their support capabilities.
That would have actually been cool, but I really don't think the tome is good enough to warrant using it in regular play, let alone with a highly vulnerable operator. If it was silent though, but even then, unless you're autistic and ok with moving from one bane mod to the other from mission to mission this weapon is not worth using in most mid to high rank mission.
@AlucardNoir Yeah, as it stands you're certainly correct. I was just imagining a world where DE decided to steer hard into the "void wizard" aspect from the beginning. A weapon that gave us a reason to use Operator in regular missions? Yes please.
Eh, i thought it would be more interesting when i first herd about it.
What i was hoping for was something that added a new layer on top of things, something you had equipped (in a new slot made for it and then activated thru the gearwheel or something) and you loaded it up with mods that made a "spell".
Say one mod added "on 10 head shots add X% fire rate to primary weapon" and so on, and you could build it to boost whatever you want, the more mods you add the more things will be needed to be completed in game for the spell to activate, making it a item you can build with few mods that is quick to activate early on in a mission, but the boost it gives you is low, or you just fill it up with the 8 mods it can hold, fulfill the criteria for every mod in the book and then it gives you a the buff from all the mods for the rest of the mission.
Or even that the criteria is harder to fulfill but it does not reset between missions, so you complete the spell over many missions, then you can cast it on yourself or another player whenever you want making giving you a great boost for one mission you are struggling with, or allowing you to boosting a friend in a mission they might not be well equipped for.
Just something adding a new layer to things instead of what is essentially just another secondary.

My issue with the Grimoire is that the AOE of the primary fire should be bigger, or the effects should be smaller. I can't see enemies at all when shooting it

Just FYI, DE confirmed multishot mods will not work on the grimoire until probably version 35.1 of the game. Unfortunately this is a fix we have to wait for the console manufacturers to all certify before it can be pushed out to all platforms and it's time for the holidays so it's hard to say the certification process will be done anytime soon.
In the meantime substitute diffusion and lethal torrent for other mods. For now I've replaced diffusion with magnum force, this is another weapon where accuracy loss has no impact.
If grimoire book created they should create witch/wizard frames😮 (ik theres wisp with skin or harrow as priest lol.)
I plan on infusing fire ball on to wisp and using this thing as a primer to nuke with fireball and wisps sun beam

Does Energizing Shot actually work? Both fire modes have aoe damage.

Came for a build guide and found we had the same build however my one is corrosive
If I were to make a suggestion for the support build, would Secondary Encumber be better as a primer? It forces electric procs which will also roll random elements each go, right? And then that would make any CO effects deal even more damage, while not losing the extra viral procs that you initially have on the build.
my only issue is sure make it a warframe primer but at list make us able to use it purely for that let us use any amount of tome mods and let up use the alt fire when we kill or hit with abilitys (like it was the tomes doing) not a meh damage meh support

Is the auto-charge affected by anything?
Can I realistically keep up whatever buff I need without shooting the regular fire?
I will stick with epitaph because it does better in both damage and Elemental priming.

You can do that, but you will lose a lot of damage in Steel Path

honestly not a fan of the grimoire and I sadly have to side with people in saying it should've been a DPS weapon instead of a primer because lets face facts we have Zakti,Kuva Nukor,Tenet Cycron,Epitaph,and even Cedo for primer weapons and tbh primers aren't even 100% necessary for anything in the game
So basically this thing is a waste of time and it’s not worth even putting resources or effort into it.

I don't like the book. It's just... bad. The tome mods give it a lot of statstick potential, but it lacks the numbers to really do anything other than tagging crowds every minute or so to turn invocation and cantacle on.
Nooooo, it can't clear a room of level bajillion enemies. So it's bad.
