One of my favourite scenes is in season 2 (Avert your eyes for this is a spoiler) when Dexter is about to go to work and Rita sees the news about the Bay Harbour Butcher (A.k.a. Dexter) and says, "I hope they bring this guy in and I hope they hurt him." (Something along those lines). She then tells Dexter to have a good day to which Dexter replies, in his mind, "Make up your mind." I love the humour in this series because it's dark and very witty.
I still think seaosn2 was the best. No other season has had a much tension and suspense as s2 had. Plus all the character in s2 had great chemistry with each other and were likeable, other than Lila.
Dexter is my favorite show so here's my opinions on the seasons Season 1: Great. Got me hooked from the pilot and built up to the climax beautifully. Everything is set up great, and the final episode should have earned Michael C. Hall several awards for. Unbelievable performance by him in every season. With one of the greatest opening seasons in all of TV, it remains one of the show's best. 10/10 Season 2: Even better. Stepped up the character development and the tension. It worked great as both a thriller and a deconstruction of Dexter's character. The scenes between him and Doakes in the cabin were extremely well written, and not to mention Dexter's relationship with Lila was a very interesting thread. Also, Frank Lundy was awesome. Easily Debra's best relationship. Overall, an amazing season. 10/10 Season 3: OK. Maybe a little boring at times, but still a decent season. Miguel was not the most interesting villain in the show, but it did offer an interesting dynamic with Dexter. The Skinner, however, was one of the most forgettable characters on the show. Not the best, but still not horrendous. 6/10 Season 4: Awesome. Probably my favorite season. Gave us one of the creepiest killers ever in Trinity, brilliantly played by John Lithgow. The season Michael C. Hall finally won the Golden Globe for, which he should have won at least 4 times for his performance. This season saw Dexter face against his greatest adversary, learn more about his inner self, balance all the different sides to his complex personality and have the one he loves taken away from him. This to me is when Dexter peaked. One of the best seasons in TV history. 10/10 Season 5: Decent. A bit of a downslide from season 4, but still an enjoyable season and a suitable follow-up. Lumen and Dexter made for an interesting pair and made for a rather emotional ending. While not the most memorable or thrilling season, it still made Dexter's inner conflict and feelings interesting enough to keep watching. 7/10 Season 6: The worst. The most wheel-spinning, pointless season, with the exception of the finale. Dexter barely went through anything, Colin Hanks was badly cast as Travis, the twist was terrible, and Debra finding out her true feelings for Dexter was horrible as well (thankfully that was fixed in season 7). The season could have done something interesting with Dexter finding religion but it was abandoned mid-season for a formulaic plot. 5/10 Season 7: The comeback. Fantastic, one of the best seasons. Both Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are phenomenal at carrying the moral and family drama. Isaak Sirko was the show's best villain since Trinity, and Dexter finally found his soulmate in Hannah McKay. The season also delivered a great ending where Debra chooses her serial killer brother over LaGuerta. 9/10 Season 8: Dissapointing. The beginning of the season started out strong, but swerved into cliche territory. This season was too typical for a final season, and while you feel Dexter's pain when Debra dies, the final scene was a total cop-out. It should have ended with the manhunt for Dexter rather than another serial killer villain plot. All in all a big dissapointment to an amazing show. 5/10 Here's How I Rank Them 1. Season 4 2. Season 2 3. Season 1 4. Season 7 5. Season 5 6. Season 3 7. Season 8 8. Season 6
+BatDevilSpawn My thought pretty much exactly. I however prefer the first season to the second for one reason only. If you rewatch the first two seasons, the first is all about Dexter making no mistakes and the reason he's never been caught, season two is all about Dexter getting lucky. Also the finale of the first season stands as the best finale in the whole show imo (Season 4 was first class as well) and one of my favourites in any show.
Nice list I just started this show and really enjoy it. But I enjoyed Season 6 more than most fans of the show. Season 1, 2 and 4 are the best seasons in my opinion. My favorite has been Season 1 and least favorite is Season 3. I still have to watch Season 7 and Season 8.
I wish Dexter hadn’t really developed feelings in the show. The reason I liked the show was because he was a legit sociopath and really did not care about people or their feelings. Now it’s just gone the route you would expect.
But that was the entire point. To challenge the perception of him being completely disconnected. And challenge the steriotype of the sociopath killer. Even he was wrong about that aspect of himself and he develops. It would be a real borimg show if he was a static character.
@@jonoxes8662 To me, it's the way they go about it that falls short. Somewhere down the line they started giving Dexter the same arc every season. Wondering if he's a monster or a real boy, deserving of love or just doomed to destroy everything he touches. For someone who initially claimed to have no feelings, his inner monologue sure doesn't shut up about them. I'd call it soul-searching but he never finds the damned thing. He just "learns" the same lesson year after year: Harry was right all along, he's incapable of human connection. If you squint, you can see that he really doesn't have much of an arc after all.
@@calebalwayswill7423 Too me I always saw it as he kept discovering he was wrong. Gradually developing more emotions. I've only seen the first four seasons and this is what I thought: Season 1: The best ever. Season 2: brilliant. Season 3: a piece shit. Season 4: very good.
Season 1 is the best. Season 2 is great but could of been so much better and fuck Lila, that made no sense. Season 3 wtf was that? Season 4 was twist and turns, probably the 2nd best Season. I liked Season 5, it was enjoyable. and then Season 7 is actually really good. I had to throw in Season 5 and 7.. you should watch seasons 5-7.. not 8, please don't watch 8. Just look at Season 7's finale as the series finale too.. trust me its so much better. And it'll save you from the anger you'll experience if you watch all of Season 8.
Evan Rangel I thought that Miguel Prado was a very interesting character with a great performance from Jimmy Smits. It was very intriguing to see him go from being Dexter's only real friend to one of his greatest enemies. Plus, I found it very satisfying to see Dexter realize his feelings for Rita and finally propose to her. Now admittedly, season three isn't as good as the first two seasons (or the fourth one for that matter). However, I still thought it was a great season overall and deserves more credit than a lot of people give it. I really feel that people tend to exaggerate when they say it's terrible. If you want to see some truly terrible Dexter, watch seasons six and eight. Both of those are horrendous!
Matthew Bradley-Flackett Does anyone know why they killed off Sgt Doakes so quickly? What is an off the set reason? Cause for him, one of the favorites of the show, I would think they would keep him around longer than just 2 seasons
Evan Rangel Basically, because he knew what Dexter was. Big D had only planned to frame him for the murders, but his cray cray girlfriend blew up the cabin he was in.
Bane's Super Brutal Metal Funtime Yea I've seen all the seasons, including season 8 unfortunately.. Just seems odd they killed him off so quick, I mean it makes sense because he did know about Dexters dark secret, just sucks cause he was a likable character, or at least interesting. But they did the same with Lumen, she had to go but it was because of off the set issues. So I was trying to figure out if Doakes was killed off for any off the set issues
AD MI You didnt spoil anything, for me at least. But its a huge spoiler for people who haven't seen it. Someone spoiled season 4's ending for me and it was fucking annoying.
Season 1 will always be my favourite. Its portrayal of dexter is so uncompromising, I love it. Also great main storyline with one of the greatest series finales in tv history. For me the most "dexter" season there is. All in all a show that, at its peaks, could really blow you away (S 1,2,4,7) but on the other hand could be really terrible towards the end (S6,8). An important milestone in tv history and one of its biggest achievements.
I think the writer of the book Dexter got inspiration from the anime show Death Note. You follow a boy with a lust to kill criminals and a police department trying to catch him, and he is very connected to the police department without them knowing it and get's information from them. His number one rule is don't get cought, and if anybody get's in his way, he has to kill them. He has to keep playing normal and being very cautious when killing people. And that evil deathgod that follow him around is sort of like his dark passanger (if you've red the book you will know that the dark passanger is like a person). We also get to know and understand the maincharacter of Death Note (light) by hearing his thoughs throw monologs, all the time, just like with Dexter!
but light yagami actually didnt have to cut his victims into pieces and hide / dump them... because of his death note he probably could have been almost invincible!!! but on the other hand the manga / anime would have been boring in that case though.
+Leon Lind well, there are just 6 month between the first issue of Death Note and Darkly Dreaming Dexter, if you ask me it's rather unlikely that he was aware of Death Note as he started writing
Season 1 and 4 are my personal favourites Season 2 is just behind and I thought it was great Season 3 had Jimmy Smits and was good but forgettable Season 5 was good but the season finale could have been better Season 6 I think is underrated and better than the 5th Season 7 had its ups and downs but Ray Stevenson is the best villain the show has ever had IMO and saved this season Season 8 is terrible with the exception of Charlotte Rampling and a few episodes that were good
I just started season 4 and I am liking this show so far. I never thought I could feel anything for a serial killer. I am happy when he's happy, I am sad when he's sad. Dexter is the best character on the show, but the supporting characters are all great so far
Season 1: 10/10 Season 2: 10/10 Season 3: 8/10 Season 4: 10/10 Season 5: 7/10 Season 6: 4/10 Season 7: 8/10 Season 8: 3/10 Season 6 and 8 are really weak. Season 6 manages to be cartoony and dumb, while being absolutely boring. Dexter questioning religion is not what I want to see in this show. Season 8 was just plain awful. It had so much potential. imagine if Dexter's world just fell apart around him. They find out it's him, so he skips town and goes into hiding while he still kills. This causes him to get sloppy, and that causes consequences. Deb is somehow caught up in this and has a much more deserved fate than a blood clot during surgery. Hannah McKay doesn't return and Dexter just doesn't do love in this season. He is finally caught, and we get some flashbacks on his life before this as he is escorted towards the electric chair. He has one last trademark Dexter Morgan monologue, as the screen goes black as you hear the electric chair go off. Way fucking better than "duhhhh he's a lumberjack now!!!".
to me my favorite season was season 2 u no trying to watch dexter kinda rebuild himself and debra had BAD ptsd and finally that he was being tracked by the fbi
Jeremy, can you review Hannibal? I heard it is somewhat like Dexter. I haven't watched Dexter, but I am watching Hannibal and I'm curious what you think about the series.
My opinion on the seasons rank season 2 : Dexter struggled the most in it season 4 : best villain in the show season 7 : I love the acting performances from both Jennifer and Micheal and the whole drama biggest thing that happend in the show i think was Deb finding out , I watched it in 3 days season 1 : great plot and villain , the finale is the best season 5: I liked Lumen so I liked the season and the finale was great too season 8 : dissapointing for the final season but the first half was amazing season 6 : pretty bad except for the finale which was the best season 3 :the worst , thank god the show wasn't cancelled bcz of it
Jeremy, watching your reviews always make me absurdly happy for some reason. Possibly because you usually express my thoughts to the public, so I don't have to, but you do it in a very fun way. And so, I will tell you my favourite serial killer drama and explain why I think you should try it. I think you already know the premise of NBC's tv series Hannibal (2013): Hannibal Lector is to be detective Will Graham's psychologist, but he's secretly the elusive serial killer known as the Chesapeake Ripper. It features very quick, very smart dialogue, which is something you've always expressed preference for. The characters are fantastic, and the main ones do get developed quite a bit. Hannibal and Will Graham basically play a psychological game throughout the entire series, with other people being dragged in. While at first this might seem like a 'case of the week' drama, it's not, because every killer they catch is actually an aspect of Will's character and features as a backdrop to the greater game between him and Hannibal. Both actors kill it, and the cinematography is fantastic as a bonus. The only thing I usually warn people about regarding this show is that it's dark, and it's gory, but considering you also review horror this should be fine. If I could only follow three shows in the world right now, it'd be The Flash, Sherlock, and this. In any case, I hope I've let you get to know a great tv show, and best of luck for your next movie/series.
1:50 Reminds me of me, in a way. I don't understand most social situations and why they do things, but I do have feelings of attraction, unlike Dexter in the first season.
Before I saw Dexter, I read these comic books by Jhonen Vasquez called, "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac". When I finished I was like, "Wow, someone should make something this a real show or movie!" Then I heard of a little show called Dexter. And my prayers were answered.
Finally just watched it on Netflix here in 2020 without knowing much about it other than he's a serial killer that kills other serial killers. Seasons 1-4 were incredible and 5-8 were just a major drop off....The finale was trash too. But I didn't look up anything about it till I fished the whole series and found it very interesting that that pretty much everyone loved 1-4 and didn't care much for 5-8.
Rita could have never said that because Dexter dumps his victims chopped up corpses in the ocean. So there is never a police report for one of his murders the day after. The only exception could be in season 1, when he killed a woman and her boyfriend but didn't have time to chop the woman up and The Ice Truck Killer put the body back. And in the end of season 4 and beginning of season 5, Quinn was figuring out that Dexter is hiding something, but he didn't suspect as much as Doakes did.
Breaking Bad is the greatest cinematical achievment of all time. It may be only 5 seasons long but each season was better than the last and almost every episode is meaningful, with many (especially in season 5) just simply being able to blow your mind and leave you saying "whoa... did I just watch that! (Total shock and surprise)" when the credits start playing. Breaking Bad will be the best investment in media you will ever make in your life. Dexte starts off really great, but the ending just fucking blows.
Stephen Powell Breaking Bad is more consistently amazing while Dexter is a series that started out amazing and then declined in quality ending with an awful finale. Unlike breaking bad which had me hooked until its gut wrenching final episode.
I really want to tell this to someone but i admire the amount of detail this show puts forth. In season 1 its widely known that Sargent doakes doesn't like dexter and dex gives him the creeps for some reason. But also, when doakes is around bynie/rudy doakes also has the same feeling
Real shame. Every season is great except for 6 and 8. Deb has some great, funny lines and moments throughout the series. I grew to quite like the family dynamic Dex grew with Rita and the kids throughout the series. She's gone after season 4 just so you know. It might have gotten a bit tiring if she was kept around for much longer
She has some good character moments and funny lines throughout the series. Some of the funniest are in season 3 I noticed. She's a pain in the ass in a lot of season 7 and 8 for reasons I won't spoil. I'm just glad she's tolerable for most of the series
I mostly agree with you, except for the bit about Deb. I honestly dont think he's changed at all since the first season and the only change since the first season is that she is really insecure about relationships, which they play on constantly. Otherwise though, glad you reviewed Dexter! It's an awesome show!
I wasn't sure why season 4 was a favourite of yours, seemed pretty close to the rest, far as I could tell... Then I watched episode 9. Holy shit. If anyone hasn't gotten that far yet, look forward to it. It's frickin' insane. Insane enough for me to go vent out in a youtube comment, evidently...
Season 1: Brilliant. One of the best first seasons of a show. 10/10 Season 2: Really good but not as great as season 1. 8.5/10 Season 3: Pretty good but as whole, quite forgettable. 7/10 Season 4: Probably the best season in the show. Absolutely flawless. 10/10 Season 5: Good but has some rushed elements. 7/10. Season 6: Wtf did I just watch? Horrible. Horrible season. 2/10 Season 7: Back to classic Dexter. Really good. 8/10 Season 8: Pretty bad but not as bad as 6. Still a disappointing ending. 5/10
Ah, so this video was made in the simpler times. The times before the atrocities that were everything after season 5. Oh how I wish I could go back and warn him of what was to come....
I'm a huge fan of Dexter , I've watched the first 5 seasons in 1 month ... Season 4 & season 5 were my absolute favorites but I hated that in both the seasons Dexter's relationships come to an end ... Now , I'm waiting till August to watch the 6th season .... Really can't wait :(
I think Isaak and Hannah are the main plot points of season 7 instead of subplots, a subplot is a smaller plot like Quinn's girlfriend from the strip-club and the arsonist. But I do agree Isaak and Hannah are some of the best characters in the series.
House is one of those people who just knows what a person is up to, coming from, life situation and all that by looking at their .. Hair style today or something.
I really liked season 1...after that I thought it got a little cheesy...like the night boat scenes where it's so obvious that a guy shining a light on the boat to resemble the water.
It would have made the season a bit worse overall if he did survive through to the end. It was his time to go. *Spoilers for some maybe reading* Rita's death and not knowing what he told her before she died made it all the more effective and haunting
The only reason the three you mentioned aren't on the list is because I haven't seen them yet. They've been recommended to me countless times, I just haven't gotten round to them yet. All in due time.
The reason its so bad is because we invested 12 hours of our time into watching it and it had quite frankly an absolutely terrible ending that left me feeling there was literally no point in watching that season whatsoever, yeah it started slow but i don't blame it on that because most seasons started slow, the only good point was the closeness of Dexter and Lumen but even that was easily eclipsed in season 7 with Yvonne's character, sorry but season 5 is dogshit imo.
Okay, i just watched seasons 1-4 all at once. this is the only show i could ever do that with. i am getting season 5 soon. season 1 was the best IMO. i love the fact that each season wasn't the same like so many other shows; you know what ep. came from what season (unlike CSI, NCIS, House and so on). season 3 was a low point for me, but the show NEVER gets bad. i fucking love this show.
...Season 6's trailer tells us nothing but "Dexter is back" because there are no major plotlines that are important to the other seasons, except for when Deb caught Dexter killing travis, they could've had him getting caught in the season 5 finale and season 7 wouldn't be that different except for Louis and Mike Andeson, but they both get killed off quickly. Oh and Jaime but that could be explained quickly.
I always thought they would find out that Dexter and Debra were actually biological half siblings since Harry apparently got around. I always wondered by they didn't go there. It seemed like they were setting it up the whole time. It would explain the affair they kept hinting that Harry could have had with Dexter's mother & why Harry left the other brother behind.
I can't believe you just reviewed this when I only just found out about it and got into it a few days ago. Yeah, the premise is AWESOME! It's gonna become one of my favorites.
I Think that the guy playing Dexter is the best actor ever because of a traier of some season( don't remember which) 5s of it, one moment he has this empty emotionless face and the other he smiles but it's only like the movement of his lips, nothing else the eyes stay blank... AWESOME O_O
this show actually does remind me of death note specially the 2nd season. Dexter is light who is a serial killer who kills other criminals and faces challenges but sometimes faces people who he has to get rid of without killing and we hear allot of what he is thinking and then we have that new detective who is like L who always seems to be ahead of the game and is a bit odd. then we have the detective who is related to the main character and is trying to arrest said character
One of my favourite scenes is in season 2 (Avert your eyes for this is a spoiler) when Dexter is about to go to work and Rita sees the news about the Bay Harbour Butcher (A.k.a.
Yea I've just started season 5 and it's pretty good. I've heard a lot of hate on the ending as well.
I actually really liked season three.
Joshua Nelson Really you liked season three? just curious, why do you like it?
Evan Rangel
I thought that Miguel Prado was a very interesting character with a great performance from Jimmy Smits.
My favorite character is Sgt Doakes
Wtf are you saying masuka is the best character
My fave character is the dog.
It's true, Debra Morgan is awesome, if you ask a fan who the their most memorable character was on the show besides dexter, they will say Debra
I agree sear gent doakes
bluesman332 SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
doakes dies in season 2 though
AD MI why even say that though?
Jack 44 because he is only in 2 of 8 seasons which makes him not the best for me, sorry if I spoiled
AD MI You didnt spoil anything, for me at least. But its a huge spoiler for people who haven't seen it. Someone spoiled season 4's ending for me and it was fucking annoying.
L O V E D Dexter. Until the last season. WHY?????
I loved this whole show. Of course seasons 1,2, and 4 were the best. But I still had no problem watching the rest.
+OldSchoolLimp yes love trinity
I've noticed season 3 and 7 are loved equally or for others nearly as much as 1, 2 and 4. I agree with them. S3 and 7 are excellent.
great show, up there with House
Season 4: the finale I'd say had the most shocking ending you'll ever see from a television show.
Season 1 and 4 are my personal favourites
Season 2 is just behind and I thought it was great
Season 3 had Jimmy Smits and was good but forgettable
Season 5 was good but the season finale could have been better
Season 6 I think is underrated and better than the 5th
Season 7 had its ups and downs but Ray Stevenson is the best villain the show has ever had IMO and saved this season
Season 8 is terrible with the exception of Charlotte Rampling and a few episodes that were good
I loved DDK, Rudy or Brian or whatever the fuck you wanna call him, and jordan chase was okay but i didnt think lumen needed to be there
and trinity
I agree I enjoyed Season 6 more than most fans of the show. I think it is better than Season 3 and 5.
100% agree!
I just started season 4 and I am liking this show so far. I never thought I could feel anything for a serial killer. I am happy when he's happy, I am sad when he's sad. Dexter is the best character on the show, but the supporting characters are all great so far
Season 1: 10/10
Season 2: 10/10
Season 3: 8/10
Season 4: 10/10
Season 5: 7/10
Season 6: 4/10
Season 7: 8/10
Season 8: 3/10
Season 6 and 8 are really weak.
Sounds good
Season 4: 12/10
Season 8 would've been cool if he just skipped town when his girl like they planned.
As far as actually insane characters/actors in TV or movies, you forgot to mention Jack Nicholson in almost everything he's in.
MY FAVORITE SHOW EVER
1: Btas, 2: BB, 3: TWD 4: Dexter 5: Arrow
Fuckin love dexter
to me my favorite season was season 2 u no trying to watch dexter kinda rebuild himself and debra had BAD ptsd and finally that he was being tracked by the fbi
Jeremy did not exaggerate about John Lithgow!
Jeremy, can you review Hannibal? I heard it is somewhat like Dexter. I haven't watched Dexter, but I am watching Hannibal and I'm curious what you think about the series.
Dexter is somewhat like Hannibal except Dexter is much more light-hearted (and funny). Both are great, though.
8
Nothing alike
I have been watching this practically none stop for two days... I can't stop watching. O.O
Riley H thanks
Riley H I kinda liked the 7th and 8th, they reminded me of the earlier seasons more, but still, I agree, they're not the same at all.
4 Seasons is almost nothing :/ I want to much to watch the other seasons.. but dont want to get disapointed
jeremy, thank you for showing me this series
you convinced me to watch it,and it's just badass
i loved it,keep reviewing series please
Dexter was way older than 30
@tinytot258 The 3 mentioned make him look like Merry Poppins.
I'm in season 1 and have just spent hours watching it ^^
season 1,4,5 were my personal best the one I think of most is 5 had a excellent plot and great scenes.
2 episodes in and I already love this show!
Deb is my favorite character love her , Dexter is one of the best shows ever .
i feel really bad for u
@@MasonF007 Why lmao
My opinion on the seasons rank
season 2 : Dexter struggled the most in it
season 4 : best villain in the show
season 7 : I love the acting performances from both Jennifer and Micheal and the whole drama biggest thing that happend in the show i think was Deb finding out , I watched it in 3 days
season 1 : great plot and villain , the finale is the best
season 5: I liked Lumen so I liked the season and the finale was great too
season 8 : dissapointing for the final season but the first half was amazing
season 6 : pretty bad except for the finale which was the best
season 3 :the worst , thank god the show wasn't cancelled bcz of it
3 was no where close to as bad as 8.
"Don't be a buzzkill, enjoy the show." -Favourite Jeremy quote yet.
You should check out the show Psych! Its a great one. You may have seen it, but you should still check it out.
One of my favorite shows ever, season 4 is the best season of the show easily
1:50 Reminds me of me, in a way. I don't understand most social situations and why they do things, but I do have feelings of attraction, unlike Dexter in the first season.
Same here. But people call me a creep and wierdo in school sometimes
Harry's Code....
If Dexter followed it, Deb wouldn't have died...
Lost, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Dexter, Arrested Development, How I met your mother, Modern Family.... Best shows ever
at 3:10 those were literally the three characters that I thought of as well!
Before I saw Dexter, I read these comic books by Jhonen Vasquez called, "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac". When I finished I was like, "Wow, someone should make something this a real show or movie!"
Then I heard of a little show called Dexter. And my prayers were answered.
Season 4 is still my favourite season out of all 8 :)
I really love this show. I wish it wasn't ending. :/
The first 4 seasons of Dexter are amazing but after that they really disappointed me
i didn't like the third
+Inhuman me either. 3 kinda sucked
i know it was just so boring on season 5 now and i hate it i might stop because 4 and 1 were the best and apparently it goes downhill from here
+Inhuman yeah 4 and 1 were definitely the best
some people just watched number 1 because it wraps the story up well, and season 2 is my favorite
Me and a friend had a debate as to which season was the best, four or five. Glad to have you on my side.
S1: 10/10
S2: 10/10
S3: 7/10
S4: 10/10
S5: 9/10
S6: 6/10
S7: 8/10
S8: 3/10
where do u watch season 3 to 5, i watch seaon 1 and 2 on netflix but thats it so can anybody tell me where to watch the other season. please
Is it better than breaking bad?
No but its still good
Breaking Bad is the greatest cinematical achievment of all time.
I think Dexter is better, more likeable characters. Only likeable characters in Breaking Bad is Jesse.
Stephen Powell Breaking Bad is more consistently amazing while Dexter is a series that started out amazing and then declined in quality ending with an awful finale. Unlike breaking bad which had me hooked until its gut wrenching final episode.
No
@RepaleoN That wasn't me typing that. However, all you'd need is a google search to see that Seasons 7 and 8 are both a go for Dexter.
Please Review HANNIBAL !!!!!!!
JUST DO IT
+Elizabeth Michaelson
HANNIBAL IS A Solid 9/10
Season 1 9/10
Season 2 10/10
Season 3 7.5/10
+VEGAN ZUMEBIES season 3 sucked
VEGAN ZUMEBIES season 3 was boring asf
Boring. Waste of time..... Nothing in this Hannibal series..........
Old Jeremy! Omg his hair was so real!
Dexter is Awesometacular.
I really want to tell this to someone but i admire the amount of detail this show puts forth. In season 1 its widely known that Sargent doakes doesn't like dexter and dex gives him the creeps for some reason. But also, when doakes is around bynie/rudy doakes also has the same feeling
I don't like the sister :D
Could not stand her >.
Dude, your video's are so addictive. I just started watching random reviews just to hear your voice.
stopped watching dexter because i just can't stand deb and rita
Deb might not be everyone's favorite but she's absolutely essential to the show.
I really hate Debra until season 4, she begin to have a development in that season. give it a try
Deb could of easily been taken out of the show with a few writing edits.
never seen it ... hearing this is will defo watch it
I don't like Deb at all
+trd 12 you're not the only one, she's annoying af
+Nahdia Aurelia lol yeah, she bitches every scene she has
i love deb tbh
I agree, could not stand her.
She has some good character moments and funny lines throughout the series. Some of the funniest are in season 3 I noticed. She's a pain in the ass in a lot of season 7 and 8 for reasons I won't spoil. I'm just glad she's tolerable for most of the series
this is my favorite show ever seen every season 5 times already lol
loved the review jeremy
watched it again after i finished the first season and now your review just makes so much sense
I mostly agree with you, except for the bit about Deb. I honestly dont think he's changed at all since the first season and the only change since the first season is that she is really insecure about relationships, which they play on constantly.
Otherwise though, glad you reviewed Dexter! It's an awesome show!
just started watching Dexter. I'm already half way through season 1 :D
I absolutely adore this show! The characters are amazing, the idea is incredible! I watched the first two seasons in one weekend!
THIS show I actually liked it was a twist with a dark hero killing people that deserved it.
Season 2: Really good but not as great as season 1. 8.5/10
Season 3: Pretty good but as whole, quite forgettable. 7/10
Season 4: Probably the best season in the show. Absolutely flawless. 10/10
Season 5: Good but has some rushed elements. 7/10.
Season 6: Wtf did I just watch? Horrible. Horrible season. 2/10
Season 7: Back to classic Dexter. Really good. 8/10
Season 8: Pretty bad but not as bad as 6. Still a disappointing ending. 5/10
thanks again Jeremy. Checked your review out last week and ive now watched season 1,2,3,4 and half of season 5.
Ah, so this video was made in the simpler times. The times before the atrocities that were everything after season 5. Oh how I wish I could go back and warn him of what was to come....
I hear they might do a spinoff. I wonder if it's gonna involve lumber and adds for Home Depot.
They forgot to give masuka a story arch, that's why they crammed a daughter of his in season 8.
I'm a huge fan of Dexter , I've watched the first 5 seasons in 1 month ...
Season 4 & season 5 were my absolute favorites but I hated that in both the seasons Dexter's relationships come to an end ...
Now , I'm waiting till August to watch the 6th season ....
Really can't wait :(
I have Asperger's I thing in a totally analytical way so I relate to Dexter more then most I don't get the way people are.
It was a great series they should pull a Joss Whedon and continue it in Comic Book and Graphic Novel Formations
Just saw this review and I got chills when he was talking about Deb and how she grows throughout the show.
I love The League of Gentlemen and Psychoville! My list of shows to watch is forever growing! Thanks for the recommendations, I will check them out.
This is definatly in my top 5 shows ever along with The Walking Dead, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother and Friends
You have really got to do an up-to-date review of dexter for the newest season :D
I think Isaak and Hannah are the main plot points of season 7 instead of subplots, a subplot is a smaller plot like Quinn's girlfriend from the strip-club and the arsonist. But I do agree Isaak and Hannah are some of the best characters in the series.
for me max Cady, Buffalo bill , Hannibal lecter, joker jack Torrence are the crazy ones I've seen in movies ever!!!
House is one of those people who just knows what a person is up to, coming from, life situation and all that by looking at their .. Hair style today or something.
I really liked season 1...after that I thought it got a little cheesy...like the night boat scenes where it's so obvious that a guy shining a light on the boat to resemble the water.
This is my FAVORITE show. ❤️ I hated season 4 because of what happened with the trinity killer. 😡 But over all AMAZING show.
It would have made the season a bit worse overall if he did survive through to the end. It was his time to go. *Spoilers for some maybe reading* Rita's death and not knowing what he told her before she died made it all the more effective and haunting
+Lachie Hurburgh right!!!!!!!
The only reason the three you mentioned aren't on the list is because I haven't seen them yet. They've been recommended to me countless times, I just haven't gotten round to them yet. All in due time.
The reason its so bad is because we invested 12 hours of our time into watching it and it had quite frankly an absolutely terrible ending that left me feeling there was literally no point in watching that season whatsoever, yeah it started slow but i don't blame it on that because most seasons started slow, the only good point was the closeness of Dexter and Lumen but even that was easily eclipsed in season 7 with Yvonne's character, sorry but season 5 is dogshit imo.
jeremy you always keep your videos short to save time but we just keep watching more and more and more and more and more and more.........your awsome
The guy from Silence of the Lambs was great in "Monk". You should review that show now that it is over.
hey jeremy, you forgot to mention how great the music for Dexter is!
Season 4 was so good that it kept me up at night. I agree with you, Jeremy. John Lithgow was so good as Arthur Mitchell that it was downright scary.
AWESOME O_O
No mention of Rita? She used to annoy me, but with every season she became this really HOT mom. Even when she cries.
Unlike most ppl , I didn't think season 8 was that bad , it was probably the weakest tho , but I found it decent !
this show actually does remind me of death note specially the 2nd season.
The season finale of the latest season of Dexter was CRAZY!!!
