Genuinely shocked to see that your content doesn't get more attention. This is legit so informative and the way you take us through the history and lore of each subject is so immensely helpful to us DMs who doesn't have time to deep-dive into every creature they want to use. I've been listening to these creature episodes every day since I discovered yous and omg my players won't know what hit them with this deep lore

Great video, guys. Love how Brian looks like he's sat in a barber's chair after a fresh cut waiting for the gown to be taken off and shown the back of his head.

I love the idea of Limbo being the wild west of Planescape, with settlers building mining outposts to shape chaos and sell materials, or fleeing to escape the long arm of the law

Non-natives in Limbo generally ended up there by accident. I remember reading about a halfling village that got sucked in by some crazy circumstances and just stayed there with the halflings concentrating on its physical integrity in shifts.

fun episode! my group plays genre-hopping RPG "The Strange" by planescape authors Bruce Cordell and Monte Cook -- and we've got a scenario going on where Star Trek's Khan Noonian Singh has enhanced his augmented human allies by mixing their DNA with slaadi. the PCs stumble into a eerily quiet town where everyone seems dead but have faint life signs only to discover the inhabitants have been infected with slaadi eggs ... and once they start "hatching" it's all the PCs can do to flee the entire town.

Something I kind of want to run: Slaad encounters where I convert dice roll tables randomly (a rolled 4 is actually a 13, a rolled 5 is actually a 7, etc).
Players will get pumped about rolling an 18 (that misses) and bummed about an 11 (that decapitates it outright). They roll a 6 on their persuasion check and the Slaad tells them the exact location of the treasure, they roll a 20 on their stealth check and the entire batch of Slaad in the room start making loud rooster sounds.
Just completely screw with my players.

1 - The more damage the slaad takes, the more it is driven into a lawful state of existence, pain and damage to its body binds it more to rules of lawful existence. This slaad will avoid prolonged combat.
2 - The more damage the slaad takes, the more chaotic their form becomes; this slaad will go berserk in combat, attacking with no regard to damage to achieve a higher understanding of chaos.
3 - The slaad doesn't understand the nature of the beings it is looking at, it will seek to communicate first, but rapidly becomes disinterested and angry in communication with characters asking questions.
4 - The slaad doesn't understand the nature of the beings it is looking at, it will seek to communicate first, and is intrigued by the perceived alienness and randomness of answers. This slaad may seek to travel with the party, this is possibly the worst result.
5 - The slaad wants to breed.
6 - The slaad wants to breed

Yup, double vowels followed by a consonant and a vowel is the reverse rule of the more common use of a vowel consonant vowel... it means soft vowel hard consonant rather than hard vowel hard consonant. The ‘i’ at the end denotes the plural form, like the anglicized “genie” from D’jini and D’jin.
Trust me, I’m the one explaining the difference and it’s still confusing... but, your instincts are correct, ha
