  • The last PCC the TTC ever acquired was ex-Kansas City A-14 all-electric class PCC #4779. This class operated in Toronto from 1958 until 1976, and as the days waned, railfans hurried out to charter these vehicles to offer their farewells. Enjoy these images of one such charter of Toronto's Last PCC, filmed by Richard Glaze.

    Before anybody else says it, one mistake crept into this video: when we said PCC 4779 was the highest number assigned to any streetcar in Toronto, we are of course forgetting ALRV 4900 -- UTDC's prototype which operated in the city for a few months in the late 1980s. Ah, well.

    Was this transferred from 8/S8 mm or 16mm film?
