Handy portable sized battery. Smallest I have seen so far. If you can with that pump.. It's good practice to put the motor side of the pump up and the pump side down. Reasoning is that you want the dry side up so any leakage around the pump shaft leaks down and not into the motor. Not always possible but when you can it's a good thing. I was fortunate that I found the original well for our house and was able to pull up the jet and replace it with a submersible pump. 100' deep 4" pipe 53' static water level and produces an average of 10gallons a minute most of the year. More in the spring and less at the end of summer when it's 110*+ and I have watered allot over the summer.
Yes, I did think of that way around but looking at it the top seems to protect the bottom from the rain etc. We shall see, not too expensive so will try it this season.
Glad to see that little pump replaced. I had a similar one on a 100 litre spray tank and it was rubbish. They get hot and the rubber diaphragm looses pressure. New set up looks great. Cheers Dave.
The little one powered up but the connections were awful having to use bits of plastic tube to connect it up - this one is a lot better but too powerful for the drip system so I had to remove the regulator (1bar) so the pump runs continuously and not pulsing.
Hi Ian and Julie was nice to see a bonus video on the little power station and for 200euros it doesn't break the bank .use solar to charge it then so many other uses to power other equipment a great little unit thank you for the beautiful presentation of what it can do . Yes with it being spring all the grass and weeds are waking up so many other jobs now need doing cycle of life . Spring is a lovely time of year I always think
I used to be an A grade Track & Road amateur cyclist years ago doing most of my training at night on the mountains over in NSW Australia until I hit my 40's & had to give it up due to the strain on my back was too much from previous back injuries. I always had a dream of doing the Tour De France but cycling politics of the day got in the way of me competing at the Olympics & being able to turn professional. Obviously it wasn't meant to be so such is life.
I remember that mess up in Australia at the time. I only made it to racing for the Royal Navy but then had a huge break from sport when I left the mob (what no time off for training). Got back into it when my trousers started getting too tight and then decided to give up the office job and start our cycling business here in the Pyrenees in 2004.... but the bones are starting to creak a little now 🤣
I have one of those dual 4 amp 8 amp total fast battery chargers for the 4x 9 amp Makita batteries that I have cause when I'm using 2 battery operated tools then you definitely want your dead batteries charged up as fast as possible while you are working with fresh batteries.
I am surprised how fast those Makita batteries charge up. I need some more as I am using all the tools at the same time but it you keep them charged it works well. What did we do before these portable power tools 😀
@@HomesteadingUncontained Remember the days of stretching long power cords to wherever you are working or the mind numbing noise of the generator going as you work off site.
Now that's a great little charger. I just might have to get one for the charging I do. How's the finger Ian? Hope you both are doing well. Take care my friend.
The pump should be install with the electric motor up , because as soon you will have leak you will flood the electric motor! I would also make a plastic cover to protect from the rain, the seal are not that great!

This video got me all pumped up to start gardening, but it's still a little early here in upstate New York.
haha, seems to have come on quick here in France, from sub zero to a foot of grass in a week.

The portable power supply seems to be everywhere these days. A great idea and so useful. Looks like your finger healed quickly!
I am not sure how we did with out them before - I always used my 25 year old genny, but so heavy and noisy - these are quite convenient now.

The grass is actually growing in front of our eyes at the moment - I have cut it 3 times already......

Please make sure Ian wears his safety glasses with the string trimmer!
I will...last week I was streaming nettles and tiny piece went into my eye.....aaaargh....stingy eyeball. I learnt my lesson 😵💫
Good little charging station, my son and I enjoy camping it would come in handy for a day at the beach. 😊
We seem to use it all the time now for smaller things. Good little unit.

Ecoflow has a number of batteries & can be used with solar panels
Ecoflow is great but this little unit is €200 - totally different product really.
The pump starts and the lizard runs!
It is nice to see the lizards are out now it is warming up. Trying to get them in the poly tunnel to eat all the bugs.
hi Ian & Julie, could you please leave a link to the new 12V pump that you have installed?
Here it is on Amazon - tinyurl.com/2p8runme 👍🏻
@@HomesteadingUncontained thanks!

Cheers Joel - finger is getting better but just numb.

Yes, that is the plan, I need to make it more waterproof. This was a bit of a rush to get the poly tunnel back up and working.
Nice 👍
Cheers Brian 😀
