  • Short Play: Learn from the Past, Live for Today, and Hope for Tomorrow
Scene 1: Office at a Company
(Michael is sitting at his desk, looking stressed out from the heavy workload and worries about the future. The faint sound of his colleagues talking in the background.)
Michael: (mumbling to himself) Why is everything so hard… So much work, not enough pay. Will there ever be hope in life?
(Jenny, Michael’s colleague, walks up to him.)
Jenny: Michael, you look really stressed. Is something bothering you?
Michael: Same old stuff, Jenny. The work here is starting to feel not worth it, and the future seems so uncertain. Everything is so confusing.
Jenny: I get it. Sometimes life makes us feel that way. But I want to tell you this: nothing in life is certain. The key is to never stop asking questions and seeking answers for yourself.
Michael: (slightly smiling) Asking questions? What kind of questions?
Jenny: Questions about what you truly want in life. You have to learn from the past, Michael, but don’t let the past control your present.
    (Jenny looks at Michael seriously.)
Jenny: Live for today, and have hope for tomorrow. But the most important thing is to never stop asking questions. You need to ask yourself what you really want, where you want to go, and life will give you the answers.
Michael: (pauses, thinking) It sounds simple, but why is it so hard?
Jenny: Of course, it’s hard. But that’s life. You have to start by asking yourself what truly makes you happy, what you’re looking for.
Michael: (nodding) I get it now. Maybe I’ve been so worried about the future that I forgot to appreciate what I have today. And I’ve never really asked myself what I truly want.
Jenny: Exactly! The past is a lesson, the present is what you need to live fully, and the future is the hope you aim for. But everything starts with the questions you ask yourself.
(Michael smiles with a lighter heart, feeling inspired by Jenny’s words.)
Michael: Thank you, Jenny. I’ll stop avoiding the questions and start living fully.
Jenny: Anytime, Michael. Life doesn’t need to be perfect, you just need to learn and find your own answers.
(They smile at each other, and the tense atmosphere starts to ease.)
Michael: I’ll get back to work now, but this time, with new energy and hope.
    Jenny: That’s the spirit.
(Michael returns to his work, this time with renewed strength and a brighter outlook.)
