    Great rig, same as mine but I connect the camera dummy battery to the 8v out (camera) from my tilta battery plate.
    I was told the 12v would be too much as camera battery is only 7.2volt .
    Any thoughts?

      Honestly no idea, but sounds legit 😅

    • @TheMash84
      @TheMash84 2 года назад +1

      You are right, never connect it to 12V, you will risk frying your camera in seconds.
      If it works it's because the dummy battery converts the voltage to 8V, but it's very risky as if the voltage regulation of the dummy fails you're going to fry your camera.

  • @Pickupstix24
    @Pickupstix24 Год назад +1

    considering that a Canon EOS R runs on 7.2V, have you had any issues running it on the 12V socket from the battery plate? The R10 is the same and i was a bit worried about overpowering it, shortening the lifespan. Also the Ninja V is roughly an 8V input that you plugged into a Dtap which is listed as a 14.8V supply. So kinda the same question there. Oh, and gracias por el contenido.

    • @Pickupstix24

    • @EastonBennett

  • @JustBCA
    @JustBCA 2 года назад +1

    I'm not quite sure I understand how you can record 10 bit video with an HDMI output from a camera that naturally does not put out 10 bit. I mean is that considered upscaling or upresing or some form of trickery similar to those two things. It never made sense to me.

    Awesome video. I’m rigging my R5 the same way you rigged this. One question. When you plug your dummy canon battery to the v mount plate, you said you plugged into a 12volt output. Isn’t that too much wattage for the camera. I assumed you had to have and 8volt outlet on the battery plate an order to power the camera. Has it been working ok for you with it hooked to 12?

    • @EastonBennett
      @EastonBennett  3 года назад

      There is an 8volt and a couple 12volts and I haven’t had a problem with the 12v at all!!

    • @TheMash84
      @TheMash84 2 года назад

      You should connect the dummy to a 8V output. The camera is not designed to receive a 12V power supply and the risk to damage the electronics is very likely.
      If it didn't happen I guess it's because the dummy battery lowers the voltage to 8V by itself.
      Not all the dummy batteries do this so please be careful or you're going to fry your camera!
      Plug it on the 8V to avoid any potential issues.
