Very useful, thank-you. That screen on the solar is very temping. So far the more I see the more for my preferences and use cases, the solar is preferred versus the Amoled. A lot of those watch faces feel too busy. I have close to 50 year old eyes, likely needing glasses soon, I'd prefer a much smaller number of options as bigger sizes. Or widgets that give the numbers as big as the biggest widget and no chart or whatever. Steps is the main thing I glance at, and it would be good if the solar face can display the four or five digits a bit bigger than I get it in the instinct currently.
@@mistercutts well I have over 50-year-old eyes and the amoled is the more preferred screen tech for me! This MMIP display is definitely far superior to any previous generation, so it's not a bad option.
One thing that’s different with this as opposed to the 2X, is there is a “color” option now on the MIP. It will let you choose the inverse white face. The 2X had that removed. I also think it’s a better layout than scrolling through all the black screens, then the same white ones like previous Instinct models.
Why amoled if not touch? Why amoled if not maps? Why only 4gb of memory for amoled version? I don't get it... The black or grey of 50mm amoled version looks bad in my opinion. As you said the mip black version looks really good. The 45mm amoled version is looking good too.
Good video, thanks for the overview! The audio is pretty bad though, i guess mic positioning is hard with the phone in front of you to capture the watch. Maybe try a lav?
Good morning, thank you very much for your useful video. I would just like to ask you if the new Instinct 3 Solar model has language support for Korean. Because I was not be able to see the initial language settings menu from your video, and I hope that now Instinct has much larger memory then previous version, they might have included the Asian font eventhough we don't buy the Asian Pacific variant of the watch. Thank you very much.
Potential Garmin newbie here. Are you limited to just the faces shown in the video? Or is there a store that you can download user created ones somewhere? Thank you! :)
@@Tethmes great question and yes there is! I believe so at least. I know on all of the primary Garmin watches there is a full App Store where people can design their own. Full tilt access and I've already downloaded multiple Watch faces for the AMOLED model. The only uncertainty is with the solar, MIP model.
@@fitgearhunter I owned the I2X and the App Store has different watch faces. But for MIPS it’s somewhat limited due to the resolution….but there’s plenty to choose from….even some for free 😉
You think there will be a Tactical Edition of the Solar model like in previous generations? I am eager awaiting its release, but it seems they would have released it by now
@@HumbleCowboy92 that's a great question and others have wondered the same. I don't have any Intel from Garmin, but I would hope/expect that they would do some tactical version because they consistently have in the past. I hate it but I guess we will have to wait and see
I love the default watchface for the Instinct 3 but one big annoyance with it. I hate that you can’t change the weather data section. I don’t have my phone connected that much so it’s always blank now. I hope Garmin change this.
Great video but I'm sorry... an AMOLED Instinct is just so f'ing dumb to me. If you want monochromatic just keep the solar, right? Best to you regardless.
