  • Seventeen? Potential blocking & staging kings of K-pop dance performances? We might have one folks!
Let me know what you want me to watch! Or better yet, suggest another type of content I should make that could help you learn more about dance! Whether you're an aspiring dancer, training to be a K-Pop idol, or just want to appreciate the art of dance-
I want to share my knowledge with YOU.
    Hope ya'll enjoy this video!
    Quick about me:
My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but my foundation also includes minor areas in ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

seventeen are commonly called the theatre kids of kpop and their staging 100% matches with that title. Their recent korean comeback "Home;Run" has very musical inspired vibes! (Also the one you said looks like Heechul is Wen Junhui, who has made a joke about being Heechul's son on Knowing Bros!)

don't be surprised...seventeen had a lot of these fresh, youthful concepts early in their career but they manage to add/give something new every "comeback"

The one u said that looked like HeeChul is Jun and HeeChul himself admitted that Jun is like a copy of him 👍 there's a running joke between them when they're on Knowing Bros together that Jun is HeeChul's secret son, even calling each other Dad-Son the whole episode.
Fun fact: Seventeen and Super Junior are actually really close and I mean REALLY REALLY close, imo it's like they are in the same company (which not) 🤣 if u are curious u can check out complications of their interactions here on RUclips.

This is still one of my most fave choreographies of Seventeen. Inknow they have more of those more technical and intricate or hard hitting ones, but I just really love theatrical dances more.
This also made them stand out with the great use of props. Hoshi has been known to use props in his choreo more because of this.
And Pretty U is their song and perf that gave them 1st win in music shows so it's always special. (TMI: It's the anniv of that 1st win today)
    Subscribed~ I'm enjoying your SVT journey :)

One thing you might not know : they incorporated the korean sign language for "beautiful" (tapping a dimple) in the choreography, right when the lyrics say "you're pretty", so that hearing-impaired people can still understand the message in their song.
They'll continue to do this in many other choreographies as well, so keep your eyes out for them if you can.

Btw, their main dancer and performance team leader, Hoshi (the Spider 😂) actually co-choreographed this and this was one of the songs he is properly credited for in the Korean Choreography Association since it this is pre-2016 and their management still credit their choreographies to them. Hehe just a little fact. But Hoshi does participate in almost all of their choreographies. Also all of the perfomance team. 😅

Yes!, all their songs have great melodies… and yes they have a lot of youthful sound because they release music almost every quarter… faster than most groups, because they create their own music.

There was actually alot of their b-side songs from the first albums. That have dance performances that you didn't react to. Most of them are performed on music shows. Idk if you are only sticking to title songs only. Some times they will post it as dance practice but not all the time. If you want to watch the B-side songs let us know we can give you a list 😊

svt are by far my favorite group to watch in terms of performances/dance practices. ngl their choreographies, formations, synchronization and all that sh1t are the best in kpop (in my opinion lol). whether the moves are simple or complicated asf, they never fail to make it look amazing.

14:13 that's what a lot of carats ask themselves later on but all that matters is that you're here now. their music and performances are timeless. their b sides are amazing too. some have choreo performances. In the same album for Pretty U (Love and Letter album), Chuck is another one of their songs with a performance. it is a different concept too

  • @isarang24
    @isarang24 3 года назад +23

I just wanted to say that when they are sitting at the sides, they are normally not seen on stage! So it's not an actual part of the staging 😬 This choreo is amazing tho so thank you for reacting!

Hmmm but in concert stages, they do those little actions on the side. Like in Ode To You.

another group that consistently makes use of props and theatrics is Weeekly (with 3 Es) ! they just debuted last year so they only have 3 title tracks, but all of them are, in my opinion, really fun in their own way. they sometimes remind me of early Seventeen too, although of course they're not exactly the same

not sure if you know but they produce their own music (not just lyric writing but truly composing and producing at the heart of it). woozi had to fight hard for Pretty U to be their comeback song bc pledis wasn't too into it. it got rejected like 7-8 times and he worked day and night on it. Pretty U was their first music show win

Heyy I'm a few months late but I didn't see this written in the comments yet.
Hoshi actually thought of the couch idea when he was in a cafe, when he moved his legs and he saw it could be used as choreo. Hoshi is known to be someone who gets inspired by random things around him (such as tissue paper, mirrors, and street lamps) that later on becomes Seventeen choreo. :)
