On my original video, I said these things and I felt they were kind of important to share as it elaborates more on things I think are relevant
So I wanted to share a video about Link Summoning and a 2 card Link Combo I figured out the other night. I think Links are really cool and I'm extremely excited for the future!
I didnt realize how much I kept saying "ridiculous" until after I watched the video myself >.> so sorry for the repetitivenes.
I forgot to add this in the video but this combo used all 15 Monsters in your Extra Deck.

Edit: since multiple people have said this I figured I would address this. In the video I say Decode Talker takes 3 effect monsters.
Link monsters can be summoned by using less monsters when using Link monsters for other Link monsters. So in this situation it was Link 2 + 1 = 3
In my head I figured everyone would realize this but I forget obv not everyone is familiar with Links yet.
Also, if people watched the video all the way you would realize I said "there are probably way better things you can do with Link monsters and better combos"
This isn't something that is 100 percent "good". It's a video showing people how Link Summoning works, some combos, and the fact yugioh is absolutely not slow.
There are tons of other combos out there I've figured out with Link Summoning, so you just have to go out there and try yourself!
Just trying to enlighten people and show people things I think are cool for the game I love so much!

The easiest answer to this kind of play is to make a global rule that you can't summon to your Extra Monster Zone if the Extra Monster Zone is occupied (as in you can't use the monster in that zone as material for Xyz, Fusion, Synchro, Pendulum, or Link Summoning). This would force players to run level 5-6 to Tribute Summon or nuke their own cards with things like Dark Hole in order to use the Extra Monster Zone again. Konami can still implement this within the first few weeks of the Link mechanic and kill this completely.
if you hear laughing in the distance, it is me laughing at the people who said Link Summoning would slow down the game. Seriously it's just a gimmick pay wall to get access to the extra deck back.
Well he said that Maxx C will just make you deck out but you can stop this with Ogre or Ghost Ash so we at least have that it more of what YOU can do, not that if it competitive or not and how your not slowing down the game at all.

Justin Tackett you only have 3 of those whereas I literally have 15 starter cards in this deck. I need one of those+brilliant fusion and I win. More than 1/4 of my deck does this combo. Since we open 5 cards stats says I'll open with a starter every game. Good luck drawing that maxx c in your first 5 cards.

I know I haven't played in years but seriously? All that in 1 turn and this is after they made a new mechanic to slow things down? All games like this have some power creep but damn... This kinda takes power creep to a new scale, it doesn't even look like the same game anymore tbh.

I mean, making a mechanic that specifically limits extra deck use can only have the purpose of trying to slow those aspects of the game down, it just, apparently didn't work very well. I dunno, what actually made it get this bad to begin with though(haven't played since GX) cuz it's kinda ridiculous how much stuff can be played at once. Like it's been a long time but not so long that it should have sped to this magnitude.
A Gott I haven't played for a long time so I don't really know much right now. But I've been checking out the recent duels and the game has become kinda insane, I'm amazed at how much stuff people can just regularly set up in 1 turn(when did this happen?). Personally I don't like that, so I'm hoping this helps make it a bit less like play half the deck turn 1. I dunno, if you guys like it that's cool but I'm hoping there won't be a bunch of combos like this that pop up all over the place cuz it kinda turns me off wanting to play.
A Gott if you want to stop the unbreakable boards then your best bet is for konami too stop making cards with stupid effect, a new mechanic will not 100% stop it.

it makes sense that link summoning would be broken since its not like synchros needing a tuner or xyz needing same level, it legit just requires monsters.
lovetownsend No, a lot of them until now aren't generic. Honey bot required two cyverse, link spider a normal, Decode talker 3 effect monsters, missus radiant as 2/3 (can't remember) earth monsters, and then the archetypal Gouki and Trick Angels links needed the respective names on monsters.
SingleSlashYGO yes but honey bot can use ANY Cyverse monster, Decode can use ANY effect monster, etc. TBH I don't understand why they didn't do this instead of pendulum.

SingleSlashYGO you'd be surprised, some of the most powerful cards have the most barebone summoning conditions. Like almost the entire Rank 4 tool box. They aren't asking for specific names like fusion, they aren't really asking you to add up levels like synchro or ritual, and they definitely aren't asking you to play solitaire.
SingleSlashYGO also the any is very very relevant. cards like trick clown and dandylion as demonstrated in the video help kickstart these plays. and the only reason is because the requirements were generic as all hell.
So 10+minutes for 1 turn. 15 years ago turns were no more than 1 minute 😅

Ars Poetica only two bounces dude. Firewall is once while face up on the field. Read the card.
In my defense, two free bounces, maximum spell negation, and three 2500 ATK beaters + another 2200 ATK monster that happens to be invulnerable, AND another monster on top of that just because is usually enough to destroy most attempts made by the opponent.

Sorry...I'm about to trigger people, but if this is even remotely possible Dandy has to stay at one and Firewall has to start at one. An immortal Nat Beast turn one is not healthy. This is exactly what Link summoning is supposed to cure.

Nitron well, naturia beast isn't immortal .honeybot itself isn't protected, and has a pretty weak body. there are level 4s that run over it. plus theres always kaijus. we'll have to see how viable this combo is once links actually hit, these "2 card quintuple [generic hard to summon monster here]" combos rarely actually turn into anything substantial.
And any of those level 4's you summon go straight back to your hand thanks to the third Firewall Dragon. I agree, it's not super viable and your deck has to be built around it, but they hit Neptune in the OCG to prevent the Luscinia FTK.

I know because i order a case from them and they told me it will arrive on wensday or thursday tops. The only reason that they we're leaks is because if i'm not mistaking konami does some test runs a couple of week's before realising date. So i highly doubt it's the new print ultra rare.

Clayton Trahan Dandelion is at one so that ruins part of this Combo. there are other ways to preform this combo without plants and using the tcg banlist (Karatula did before Jeff). However, I'm glad Jeff showed off the alternative way of preforming this combo. The combo pieces are fine, the combo pieces in Cooperation with one another is different.

The problem is: not too many people totally understand Link Summoning yet. Once more of the player base starts to test with it we will definitely find all the broken combos and loops.

A TCG 2-card combo (with Rescue Ferret and Predaplant Scorpio, or searchers for those two) has been made that results in 3 firewall dragons in main zone, with a link spider in each extra deck zone. The combo summons Venus instead of a second Dandy with Rescue Ferret.

i do recall a deck profile a cpl out years ago with him saying he was play testing with his friend for about 15 hrs.. he seems committed to the game
he created grandsoil psychics and won with them in a meta where his deck was considered rogue. it was the only deck of its kind at the event and never saw success with anyone else piloting it. He is one of the main reasons people used E-CON during the full power BA format as well with his Aggro shaddoll deck.

Grandsoil Psychics never saw further success because Jeff knew it had very obvious shortcomings. He even took the event on a whack ruling from Crystal Chrononaut that the judges let him fly with. So he never touched it again while every else was all over it thinking its going to be insane when they never tested the shit out themselves.

well let me just say that where is the fun in the game if your opponent is going to scoop turn one because they had a bad draw before you even get to play a single card at that point its not even a game which completely nullifias the game you win the match because you opponent didn't even play which means your showing up to the tournament and just sitng and waiting araound doing nothing for 20 to 30 mins so I ask you where is the sense in the game when no one even tries.
ironicbastard This is not a casual card game the skill level is extremely high so that's what will happen if the players are actually good at the game. We broke this game down to a science and we know the ends and outs to how it works. There's many guidelines to this game that isn't in the rule book or how to play. Don't get mad at us because we're intelligent enough to build a consistent strategy and deck to make you quit before you even play. It's the cards we choose to play and how we play them. We aren't casuals, we take this game seriously and competitively. This isn't 2004 Yugioh were any idiot can pick a deck up and play. It has depth now. All of you plebs should just quit. Ravinar Well, one of the reason why yugioh keeps being broken is because we don't have set rotations. Like almost every broken combo involves some old cards. And to be fair it's really hard to create new cards when you have a card pool of almost 10k cards that you need to consider. Anyway, at least some of the old cards and decks keep coming back to the game with new direct and indirect supports, unlike other card games that litterally ban almost everything to promote new products, aka set rotations.
No, set rotation would be good for this game. it would stop the stupid broken stuff from happening and people won't complain that their old cards won't work because they won't even be allowed to use them with cards from a different set or era. Like zexal era can't go against arc v era cards and so on. Yeah its going to be boring but at least it balances stuff out.

HulktySSJ2 if you didn't make a video showcasing it then it doesn't matter what the fuck you thought of. I highly highly doubt you thought of this same combo. And not uploading your combos won't stop other people from also using those combos. That's a terrible reason not to upload. If you're so good at making combos make your own channel for it and get famous and you can make money off of it instead of being that nobody loser in the comment section saying you thought of it first even though you can't prove that you did and nobody would care even if you could prove it.

I don't need to prove anything. I know it myself, and that's all I need. (RUclips doesn't guarantee success anyway. Its completely luck based in the beginning, then the quality of videos can improve as cash runs in. ...too busy with real life to do online life anyway though.)
The only reason I even bothered posting my comment is because of how high this uploader praises the person in the video.
I'm not a genius by any standard, but like the guy in the video, I also consider myself a "master deckbuilder". I'm completely against copying in card games (unless its absolutely needed).
The time that grinded me most was when I created the "Tele-DAD" deck before the deck was even legal in the OCG. Yep... I plan decks ahead of time at the moment the effect of a card is even announced.
I'm an American TCG player who had planed the deck with a 1-2 card difference from the first SJC/YCS tournament deck list that became popular and started the trend, before it was even printed in the OCG.

two words: TORRENTIAL TRIBUTE! If you go first and set Torrential, GG just activate it when he summons Nat beast. Honeybot only protects from targeting, not card destruction, its a trap and cannot be stopped by nat beast. you will wipe their entire field.
so apparently if you have 2 Machina Fortresses 1 gadget and 1 8 star machines you can get 3 Firewall Dragons, one activated 2 unactivated Just discard both Fortresses to summon one, discard an 8 star to summon the other, go into no. 42 then get your 5 tokens. Summon Firewall using 42 and 3 of his tokens. Then normal summon your gadget. search another gadget and use the gadget and last tokens for Gaiasaber. summon gadget. then Firewall, summon gadget. Use a firewall to grab the 8 star to resummon fortress. Go into Missus, summon gadget. Gaiasaber, summon gadget, Firewall, summon gadget. Congrats, you now have 2 unactivated Firewall dragons, a third used one, and a gadget. Going further requires either another 8 star to use at some point or activating a firewall.
of course Gearframe is a perfectly fine substitute for one of the fortresses, and scrap recycler can work but is harder to use
This is what I meant. The game will not really slow down or be any less broken. It will just force you to either use Link monsters or play with no extra deck.
Firewall Dragon is BROKEN but it's so safe from the banlist. I just don't see Konami can hit a protagonist's ace monster from a business perspective. For all collectors, small kids and new watchers of VRAINS, it will be the chase card. And like all previous ace monster, Konami will keep printing it in nearly all rarities in most promo sets to milk out money. It's going to be one hell of an expensive Secret Rare to begin though (wish it was Ghost Rare though).
Monster Tokens are monsters that appear on the field as the result of a card's effect. They are not included in the Deck, and cannot be sent anywhere other than the field, such as the hand or Graveyard.... link rules During their Main Phase, the turn player can Link Summon a Link Monster from their Extra Deck by sending face-up monsters from their field to the Graveyard as Link Materials that are listed on it as materials.. so you cant link with tokens.
You CAN Link with Tokens. Some other persons analogy does NOT beat Official Rulings
the problem is if that board gets broken you lost. the combo uses all 15 extra deck cards.
Thank you, I haven't played since the middle of the synchron era. I've been thinking of coming back to the game, but this has reaffirmed why I left, the game has just become to cumbersome with first turn unkillable rows.

I can see a positive and a negative to this combo. The Positive is basically what he explained, that there are very few out to a combo like this in the game. However, if the combo gets hit towards the end by a trap like Torrential Tribute among other powerful battle traps, or by the likes of Lava Golem, Kaijus, ect., the combo uses the entire extra deck which leaves very little for an engine like plants to perform a follow-up play. In short, if the combo gets broken, the deck can auto-lose. Broken, yes. Unbeatable, not by a long shot in this game at this time. But all around, still awesome.
This combo is just... BROKEN. It's so OP
When i first saw how link summoning was, relook my dragunity deck. Rescue ferret makes the deck alive again. My body ready 4 this formate.
Do you guys think a card that enables multiple special summons of extra-deckers to the field will ever be made?
an effect like...
"This turn, you can special summon monsters from your extra deck into your main monster zones as if they were linked to the extra zone"
what would be a cost enough for screwing a rule? "pay half of your LP"? "discard 2 cards"?

I wouldn't necessarily call this a broken board as some are. A broken board is something like a Crystal Wing, Siegfried, and Hope Harbinger. There's not enough protection for this to be that scary, though it is good. There are a number of outs to this board that people already run, or could easily side, so some of the comments here are a bit silly. That all said, I doubt anyone who was paying attention to the rules and monsters being released would have thought that boards like this were not possible.
I think disruption is gonna be even more powerful, now that there's one space you gotta lock down against extra deck reliant builds.
