So after finished listening to it, i'd have to say...... the arrangement is very interesting(especially with the palm-muted picking guitars), very 80's sounding but very modern-esque as well, James' voice man..... i've never heard anyone's voice as unique as James. This arguably may not have the sickest beats or the wildest lyrics, but when i listen to this song you've made it does make make feel a type of way, it carries a certain vibe that makes me feel kind of lost and dopey but in a good, nostalgic type of way and honestly I love it so much James

As a singer myself I wanted to offer little criticism. Disclaimer: This is not meant to be hate. I actually like his videos and I think the song isn't bad. So James was very on key which is good but because he was trying so hard to be on key the vocals lack in musicality. At points it sounded like he was trying to copy a autotune machine. While being on key is definitely important I think it is equally important to add musicality and depth so your song doesn't grow boring.
i felt like it was one ?muscal line? like something really flat. i feel like with other songs there is something more,,, like spikes in how the sound feels if it were a graph if that makes sense. it is not a bad song, but it feels naked, like there was no extra layer of sound for the main sound. i feel like the drums and violins were intende to be that one extra layer-spike sound thing, but it was like a cotton hoodie in a summer storm.

As a musician I feel I can say that the vocals do need to be a bit more confident. For example: the line "I may have known you for an hour" kind of tapers off. It's clear James has a good voice, but needs to support the notes a bit more/longer. Also as stated in some other comments the mix is a bit off. It doesn't ruin the song but bringing some elements forward could make the talent shine more. Definitely not what I was expecting but I like it overall, and it's a good sign of things to come.

As a musician I feel I can say that the vocals do need to be a bit more confident. For example: the line "I may have known you for an hour" kind of tapers off. It's clear James has a good voice, but needs to support the notes a bit more/longer. Also as stated in some other comments the mix is a bit off. It doesn't ruin the song but bringing some elements forward could make the talent shine more.
Definitely not what I was expecting but I like it overall, and it's a good sign of things to come.
