“Awesome saxophone collection!” I have a collection of my own except I have all sorts of wind instruments! Here’s the list of what I have: Piccolo - Gemeinhardt C Flute - Jupiter Oboe - Yamaha Bb flat clarinet - buffet crampon Bass clarinet - selmer bundy Wood bassoon - selmer bundy Alto saxophone - Yamaha Tenor sax - Yamaha Bari sax - selmer bundy Trumpet - Yamaha Single French horn - Yamaha Straight horn Trombone - Yamaha Tenor trombone with f attachment - accent 3 valve Euphonium - Yamaha 3 valve tuba - Yamaha Pearl percussion kit with sticks mallets drum pad and xyzlophone bells. I e Collected all these over the past four years after graduating high school in spring of 2017, i bought all of them Off of eBay except for my trombones because I begin playing trombone in the 5th grade back in fall 2009 at age 11 in the past decade, I am now currently playing all of my instruments as A hobby now!. 😀
Every now and then I think about taking up learning the sax, but then I think about all the "juice" that collects in them and I get a little grossed out. LOL!!
Wow! nice collection. Just like your silver alto sax Conn, I have 1 and only alto saxophone by C.G. Conn Ltd. Elkhart Indiana USA. Dec. 8, 1914. Yeah 1914! A wolf/fox engraved on the bell. GOLD plated.
I like the second saxophone, Trever James' soprano sax. On Alto sax, I lite the Trever James custom. On Tenor sax, I like Selmer Mark VI. But also the one Grover Washington played sounds great. All the Tenor Saxes play very well. But the Trever James raw option has got a character built into it and its intonation sounds easier to play produce. Thanks for sharing.
I like then fact that the Keilwerth has sentimental value for you and your wife - that is sweet! Oh man, I wish you had purchased and played the Super Action 80 tenor in black lacquer you had in a vid a few months back. That sax was a gem. I also love your collection in general! Cheers
Love your collection. And I especially love the SX90R. I sold my clear nickel tenor (was a 2002 I think, which I bought at the factory in Nauheim), but I still have my 75th Anniversary alto. I wonder why so many people who play the SX90R don't know what the R actually stands for. Unless you've got something that was custom made, you have straight tone holes with thin rings soldered on to work like rolling. The R is for rings, not rolled.
Daniel: Very nice video. I like the 56' Selmer tenor the best. Beautifil rich unmistakeable vintage Selmer sound. My second choice is the Trevor tenor. Very nice and close to the vintage Selmer. All the horns in your collection are very nice .. all different. Thanks for the nice demo video. 👍
Hi Daniel, loving the TJ RAW tenor I got from you recently it's a pure beast with the biggest and very even sound I have played and absolutely destroyed any other tenor I owned or played including all Selmers and mk6's, Yamaha, Yanis, Keilwerths etc best modern tenor out there in my view. Thanks so much, a great guy to deal with.
Dear Daniel, No man should possess more than one great selmer mark vi. It is just greedy Daniel, and you look like such a great guy. So can you please sell me one of them. I’ll take the mark vi tenor. Thanks. How would you like me to send you the money for the sax? On a serious note, I also just love the music you play… nearness of you, misty…..been playing that romantic sentimental stuff before you were born, but not as well I’m sure. Keep it up my friend, you’re an asset to the saxophone world.
Awesome video and playing! Curious about your Conn soprano and alto. Barring some truly strange stuff from the Conn factory (which is certainly possible), a Conn from 1920 would absolutely be a New Wonder Series I, as would one from 1923. I am fairly certain from your video that I could see the iconic "nail-file" G# on the Soprano, which does indicate a New Wonder Series II. I did not see this on the alto, however. I am just wondering if you have an incorrect year tied to your serial numbers, as I believe the earliest New Wonder Series II Conns were made in 1925. Again, love your video and your playing and thank you for sharing, and sorry for being "that guy"!
Hey Mark, I find them slightly brighter than other finishes (when you’re comparing them side by side among the same brand and model). I have no problem playing a silver plated horn as long as it plays and sounds great :)
A very nice collection you have! I like the sound of the Selmer Mark VI's very much, not only the instruments themselves but especially the way you play and control them. I have a question - hope not too stupid - what is the tune you are playing? My wife wants me to practise on it! :-)
Your wife may be enchanted by Ned Washington's lyrics. It's also a good idea to take Lester Young's advice about memorizing the lyrics first. It's not the pale moon that excites me That thrills and delights me, oh no It's just the nearness of you It isn't your sweet conversation That brings this sensation, oh no It's just the nearness of you When you're in my arms and I feel you so close to me All my wildest dreams come true I need no soft lights to enchant me If you'll only grant me the right To hold you ever so tight And to feel in the night the nearness of you.
Daniel, love the video. Why didn't you get the high F#? Do you feel the high F# hole changes the sound of the horn? Or do you use the "front" F# fingering?
Thanks for the great runover the collection! It was very interesting indeed. Can you tell if the TJ Custom RAW and the XS versión age in the same manner, in terms of patina?
hey daniel...our church just got an incredible sax donted to our church...its an genuine john coltrane sax and we are trying to actually sell it so the proceeds can go to our church...could you contact me soon? thanks!
This is the craziest collection I’ve ever seen one person own

Conn 10m is also a beast way back then. Dexter Gordon's main 🎷

My MKVI Alto is 1975. Damn best alto I ever blew. Adore it
That’s awesome!
New to your channel, and That first Soprano is truly sweet. Love the second one too.
Thank you!
We love saxophone the way they look and the way they sound...
Thank you!
you're missing the best of the best !!! Conn 10M man !!!

Yeah it’s awesome! And for sale too if you’re keen
Your Subtones on Tenor sound AMAZING! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Thanks so much!
Custom RAW. Wow
Amazing collection. I love the fact that you play them all so beautifully. Thank you for sharing.
thank you so much!
What a nice interesting guy!
:) :)
I liked the 1971 Mark VI alto best although they all sound good. The 50's tenor really had that Dexter sound. Very nice.
I really enjoyed this. Great review of your collection.
Thank you!

Yes the Trevor James are amazing saxophones!

O Glad to see you got a Keilwerth. I have the Keilwerth SX 90 Shadow black Nickel and Gold Alto. I Also have it in the Soprano too.
Thank you!
Very interesting Daniel! i love saxes also.
Thanks so much!
Sounds amazing. The 2nd soprano was like silk. Let's face it they all sound great.
Thank you!
Love the Couf tenor! Really rich sound OMG!
Yeah man it’s a really great horn!
The Trevor James tenor is just gorgeous The Chu Berry soprano might be my favorite
Beautiful sounds, loved the Selmer vintage sounds.
Thank you! Yeah the vintage Selmers are nice saxophones!
@@DanielChiaOfficial Can a modern Yamaha make such sound?
Nice collection chia seeds.😮😊
:)
Fantastic collection, congratulations. I really liked the Selmers Mark VI alto sax.
Thank you! Yes Mark VIs are nice, I have a video coming out soon just on the Mark VI :)

Apparently, one is now missing ;-)
Nice video, I haven't heard some of the tenors until this video. Keep posting, I really enjoy watching them!

Hey thanks for the detailed observations! My alto also has the nail file G#, maybe it just wasn’t obvious in the video :)
Hey Daniel what's your take on silver plated tenors
Hey Mark, I find them slightly brighter than other finishes (when you’re comparing them side by side among the same brand and model). I have no problem playing a silver plated horn as long as it plays and sounds great :)

It's Misty on alto and The Nearness of You on tenor.
Your wife may be enchanted by Ned Washington's lyrics. It's also a good idea to take Lester Young's advice about memorizing the lyrics first.

To hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night the nearness of you.
Nice video. Just wondering how the Cannonball big bell tenor compares to the Keilwerth and TJ in your collection.
Hey the Cannonball doesn’t have as much character as my Keilwerth and TJ unfortunately
Daniel, love the video. Why didn't you get the high F#? Do you feel the high F# hole changes the sound of the horn? Or do you use the "front" F# fingering?
Did you get the Markvi (Silver) from Saxophone Siam Thailand?
Nope!
@@DanielChiaOfficial where did you but it from then:)
? I saw a similar Mark VI with high F# at Saxophone Siam.
Thanks for the great runover the collection! It was very interesting indeed. Can you tell if the TJ Custom RAW and the XS versión age in the same manner, in terms of patina?
Hey they age in a totally different manner. The RAW gets lighter in colour as it ages, the RAW XS gets darker as it ages
Hi Daniel, any reasons for not having a Yamaha in your collection? No love for Yamaha?
Hey I recently got an older YAS62 and YSS62R and they are awesome too! I’ll do a new video soon :)
I could get all those sounds out of 1 alto
Great!
how do u have like 20 altos but no bari
:)
YUMMI
:)
Is their any Alto sax you can give out?
I will really appreciate it if you can gift me one out of your collection of instrument.
Alto - The first mark vi’s sounds better, mark vi 2 and 3, they sounds nice too, they sounds very similar but not as good as the first one.
Yeah the first one is pretty special :)
2 mark VI alto : useless.
